MPT back at Boro so Lawson to complete the side with Proctor and Jorgensen? Can’t see too many other options.

Forgive my ignorance but why would only have a few fixtures stop the IOW running? Could they not run the six league meetings during the school holidays to maximise crowds and run challenges or individuals for any extra dates? There must be more to it surely.

Scoobydoo will be happy (or less unhappy) anyway.
-
What are these ‘new rules’ which have resulted in the IOW not running?

Is Jordan Palin ready for Championship speedway?
Bagpuss replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I agree with a lot of this, he really needs to be pushing on in the Championship this year and putting several points on his average, also getting meetings for Gdańsk is vital. I feel our youngsters have traditionally had things too comfortable and need to be pushed at every opportunity to get the best out of them. The window of improvement is small and they need to be developing quickly in their teenage years. Kemp and Rowe in particular need to be aiming to be heatleaders in the second division before the end of the season. -
Is that with the big old temporary stand that popped up the other year for the stock car world final?

Is Jordan Palin ready for Championship speedway?

Kemp and Rowe look the two stand out youngsters to me at the moment, Palin obviously a little younger but could be on their level quickly as he is an excellent prospect. I hope there is a bit of friendly rivalry between them all and Brennan so they push each other on. In terms of Palin’s development I certainly don’t think it’s too much too soon, if anything we don’t push out youngsters soon enough, they need to get out of the NL as soon as they can and start racing regularly against senior riders. Of course not all will succeed but those early years where improvement can be rapid are vital. -
I’ve never really taken to third division speedway to be honest, I went a fair bit twenty years ago under Waggy when he built a team from scratch with Brundle, Mills, Cook, Burton etc but despite trying it lots of times in different seasons I just don’t get the buzz from it like senior racing. I used to be a regular at Mildenhall as well as Lynn in the mid to late noughties but haven’t been there since they were last in the second tier.
-
Very much how I have felt, perhaps not so much the quality of rider diminishing but the price rising and the racing being poor makes it a bit if an effort to drag myself to Lynn on the Wednesdays I get time to go. There also seems to have been a lack of oomph and enthusiasm (other than from the supporters club) since Jonathan left, it’s all a bit ‘going through the motions’. I think the way you have to look at it is that Cook has effectively replaced Lambert. It’s the Riss and Cook positions which need filling essentially.
-
Absolutely, although it’s difficult to see who is available to ride over here to fill that slot with the points left. More likely that the seventh rider will fit into a budget rather than use all the points up anyway, similar to P’boro. I agree with those who say that getting back on track is the most important thing for 2021 but at the same time the team needs to be competitive.
-
Or maybe they prefer to put their time and effort into riders who want to be at the club? That’s no criticism of Mountain who no doubt made a decision which was best for him at the time.
-
I thought it was both?
-
It’s known as the Poole Syndrome Me too. Would be pretty annoyed and embarrassed if Lynn signed Bates or Bacon or some of the others on the list. I’ve no specific gripe with Sheffield directly but more with the decision making promoters collectively who have turned a great idea into a dogs dinner.
-
Nobody said anything about a fall out, but Lynn have decided to go with somebody who is a club asset and part of the set up for whatever reason.
-
I seem to remember Lynn’s association with Mountain ending when he chose Mildenhall over the Young Stars a few years back so that might explain your query.
-
I would be shocked if Kinsley wasn’t Lynn’s first choice all along.
-
Plenty from four former GP riders I’d have thought.
-
Bailey crossed my mind as soon as I saw Ryan’s name funnily enough. Hope it turns out better for him than it did Josh. Someone like Leon Flint would have been better IMO. As you say it has a whiff of the easy (cheap) option.
-
For the Championship.
-
But will in all likelihood turnout to be a better rider than Bacon.
-
Mixed feelings about Kingsley, to me he kind of fits what the scheme should be about as he is local, a club asset and reasonably young, however he is weak compared to others and is going to struggle away from Lynn if not at home too. However on the other hand he is probably past the point where he is ever going to be an established top flight or international rider IMO. Would rather have Ryan than Bates or Bacon who really shouldn’t be in the scheme at all but can’t help but being envious of Kemp, Brennan and Palin.
-
Really? In such a weak league he would score hatfulls. Moot anyway as I’m sure he’s signed up in Poland.
-
I read Najjer’s post as using other rising star scheme riders who are on the list but don’t ride for another team in that league. Agree also it should be R/R unless two riders are absent. We HAVE to get rid of riders appearing for more than one team as much as is possible.

Was thinking it must have been a retirement or exclusion.

I’m not so sure
