  1. Quote the part where I said that Glasgow are the only ones to do any of the things I stated.
  2. I’d have thought the main attractions of riding for Glasgow would be the excellent track, the professional image and being treated properly by good business people. It seems that riders and supporters really enjoy being part of the club and it comes across a million times better than any other UK club on social media. I’d certainly say Glasgow is the place to be in the Championship.
  3. With all the gossip, supposition and bullish!t on this forum though you can’t really blame gullible folk for believing certain things.
  4. Each to their own. If others have families and are happy to race once or twice a week plus GP’s then good for them.
  5. Word on the street is that King is heading down to darkest Dorset too.
  6. Let’s hope so, wouldn’t like to see a new club to the league over stretching themselves straight away.
  7. And a nice little earner for Pedersen too I’d imagine.
  8. Way past his best and likely to be costing Sheffield a fortune. He will put bums on seats but I don’t see him being as good as many think.
  9. So you are saying we haven’t won anything with him in the team but would have done had he not got knocked off and injured in the 2019 final make your mind up For the record I think MPT has probably peaked but he is better away from home than others and can at least pass at Lynn.
  10. They did but they rode in Poland and Sweden back then, unfortunately very few do now and don’t seem to have the drive to do so when there are easier pounds and pennies to come by in the UK. If it was up to me doubling up would be for Brits of a certain age only eg U23. The whole thing has very much got out of hand with lots of foreign riders using the system too.
  11. I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with that but I expect you would get riders claiming they can’t afford to race without both incomes and you wonder what riders would cone into our league set up to make the numbers up. Doubling up has changed an awful lot from when it was first introduced and catered for young British riders only.
  12. Set nights allow riders to double up without fixture clashes which is vitally important.
  13. Perhaps they thought it might be an even better way which would maximise media exposure? I think they got it wrong by leaving such long gaps between riders, if they did one a week for example it might work better. I agree with you though, the supporters nights worked well back in the day. Perhaps nowadays though with social media putting things into the public domain the instant they happen folk would rather stay at home and see it on their screen than travel to the stadium.
  14. Sometimes but there have been occasions where meetings at Lynn have gone on past half nine and I just think that is too long. Can’t be helped if there is an injury but when it’s lots of grading and an unnecessary interval it won’t get people coming back.
  15. Perhaps they’ve tried but he’s decided to keep his options open? Can imagine a few clubs would like him on their side.
  16. If Glasgow can get him aboard some decent kit then Oystercard should be very good value on his average.
  17. Because we would have the longest and worst tail in the history of speedway! Iversen seemed to have some issues with the Lynn track in 2018, didn’t look particularly comfortable on it towards the end of the season and compared to Cook and Riss is no spring chicken. If Lynn went for Puk rather than Riss I think it would eat up too many points and in any case I’d like to see Cook back, he had a pretty good year last year and I’d like to see what he can do over a full season.
  18. Anything to do with Plymouth’s promoter? Perhaps they feel that they need extra insurance that he can run a club at a higher level.
  19. And I respect yours. Who do you support out of interest? I’m a Lynn fan and at various points last season Cook, Riss, Jorgensen, MPT, Proctor, Andersen, S Lambert and Kerr all had teams in the Championship and I can honestly say that it didn’t make me see them any differently in terms of a team representing my club.
  20. Loads of reasons ahead of doubling up why speedway is where it is ie poor racing, poor stadia, too expensive etc. I don’t believe doubling up really matters to many people and certainly doesn’t have anything to do with attracting new customers. I accept that fixed race night has had a negative affect on a few tracks but IMO they are essential if people want to avoid fixture clashes both in the UK and abroad. You simply can’t have riders needing to be in two places on the same night like we’ve had before.
  21. Not really in Ipswich's hands, if he decides he’d like to race elsewhere there ain’t much you can do about it.
