Peterborough Panthers 2020

Thomsen Bech Harris Andersen MPT Ostergaard BWD Would that be so bad? -
This is spot on. Speedway in general in this country takes its punters for granted and doesn’t do enough to keep them coming back or get new ones through the door. If you keep decreasing the standard and increasing the price it’s only going to end one way unfortunately.

Was he? Before that awful evening I can only remember him having one decent meeting for Lynn and that was at Poole, he was pretty dreadful up until his sacking.
-
Not sure Milik is s great example, he only rode a few meetings for Lynn and was carrying an injury in most of them.
-
Better than Josh Pickering?

We shall see. Let revisit this conversation in August / September.

Connor Mountain will make someone a good signing in the Championship. This Poole thread is a good read for a change, shame about the name calling though.
-
He’s right far more often than he is wrong.
-
Worzel = Somerset, nowhere near Norfolk or Suffolk. And very different dialects.
-
Let’s hope it’s not that predictable. For what it’s worth I don’t think it will be.
-
With no GP or U21 for him in 2020 it was never going to happen.
-
My advice is get to as many as you can, the thing I miss about the second division most since Lynn moved up nine years ago is the away trips and tours with plenty of weekend meetings. Some great people from this forum to be found at those tracks too.

Bech and Jonasson have said they are signed up in the Premiership somewhere haven’t they? So could be either or, or both. Lots of solid middle order men and decent reserves named above but a number one is what is really needed. -
If you want to know what’s wrong with British speedway

You are right but that has been talked about for over twenty years and nothing has happened. -
Yep fair play, I misread what Phil wrote. I don’t think a draft like that would work but some kind of rider control might although I appreciate you could stop some riders wanting to ride here if they refused to go where told. While I agree with what Stevo has said about solid teams also doing well in previous seasons we don’t want a situation where for example two teams are marooned at the bottom of a seven team league and way under strength because they don’t have any top end power while the best teams have two or three number ones. That does nobody any good.

I have seen plenty of constructive discussion but very little sniping
-
Doyle isn’t the best example as he wouldn’t be the one leaving Swindon under Phil’s proposal. Word on the street is that Buster has nothing to do with Ipswich.
-
I think you may be overrating Sheffield a little and if you are including Lynn in the also rans then that’s nothing to do with our spearhead but poor choices lower down the order. In essence though I agree, with such a small league I think the top men probably need sharing round a bit more. If for example Batchelor was sent to Ipswich and Cook to Peterborough the league would be a lot more balanced.
-
Sheffield look decent but Swindon look quite a way ahead of them on paper, I have my doubts about Pedersen taking into account his age and time away from the UK and their reserves don’t convince me although accept many reserves won’t look great to start with. Sheffield look good for the top four but Swindon are the best on paper without doubt unless anybody else pulls rabbits out if the hat, can’t see it though.
-
Will start as favourites I would suggest.
-
I’d be very happy with that team if I were a Tigers fan.
-
Agree about Wells in the top league at the moment but Glasgow are no fools and like them I can see value in his and Ulrich’s averages especially as they will be aboard good kit.
-
Hougaard retired I thought.

Yep fair points BW, you could certainly see Nicholls or Andersen doing a good job for a season. Perhaps Nicol (along with Becker and Douglas) is seen as a long term signing who could spend years with the club and probably would have gone elsewhere and settled there if Wolves hadn’t snapped him up.
