Berwick, Sheffield and Kent.
Bagpuss replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
A six league team would be ridiculous and unworkable, seven has been bad enough. Eight teams should be the minimum going forward. -
Don’t think it does riders any favours to get involved with the crowd, those riders have now put unnecessary scrutiny and pressure on themselves for the second leg. Best to keep ones council until the tie is decided.

What have Perks and Lawlor been up to?

Berwick, Sheffield and Kent.
Bagpuss replied to poolebolton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Amazing the number of people saying what will or won’t happen to Kent and Berwick without having any idea of what’s is going on behind the scenes. Also how is it the right of CVS to spill these particular beans? -
Very finely balanced I’d say.

Only remember as Lynn won the treble and it was Mildy’s first season back in the second division, went to nearly all of their home meetings that year.

Who are your top five riders in 2019.
Bagpuss replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I’m presuming the question means over the whole season and not just in the odd meeting......therefore: Rasmus Jensen Charles Wright Anders Rowe Nicolai Klindt Ellis Perks -
2006 Paul. I remember that season very well
-
To be fair I didn’t mean to include the link in my copy and paste, I’m blaming fat fingers The teams came from the thread in the International section incidentally.

For the benefit of waytogo28 GB: Craig Cook Lewis Kerr Adam Ellis Dan Bewley Charles Wright Drew Kemp Anders Rowe Denmark: Niels-Kristian Iversen Kasper Andersen Mikkel Bech Jensen Rasmus Jensen Hans Andersen Matias Nielsen Benjamin Basso http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/news.php?extend.37610

Presumably somebody (Buster? ) has the money to make it happen.
-
Fair enough if that’s the case, can only remember the number eight situation. No idea.
-
Sheffield and Kent mentioned elsewhere meaning eight teams. Bob’s your Uncle.

How about a 10 week Premier League season?
Bagpuss replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Absolutely, and how about making the last round of meetings on the Bank Holiday Monday at the end of August? Then we can get in with the Play Offs in early September. -
Aaron Summers. Back then everyone had an official number eight they could use as and when they chose.
-
Pretty dangerous bluff to ignore the wishes of three quarters of your fan base.

What good is Wednesday nights with so many Danish riders employed in the Premiership? Get the product right and the race night won’t be such an issue.

But how does that mean he wasn’t ‘up for it’? To me that phrase means he was not motivated and didn’t put the effort or commitment into his riding and I just don’t think that is the case at all. As I’ve said on another thread there isn’t necessarily a direct link between effort and points, especially on a track where if you miss the gate you are more often than not screwed.
-
Perhaps it’s just me but a rider can ‘give their all’ and be ‘up for it’ but fail to score many points because they’ve been beaten by better riders on the night, or had an off night where they struggle to gate and find it hard to pass despite riding their socks off. There isn’t always a direct correlation between effort, attitude & commitment and points. Puk is a case in point, but for re runs he would have only dropped a point in heat 15. That’s speedway.

In what way did he not seem ‘up for it’? As has been said on another night with more luck he could have had a hatful.
