Well that’s three points I didn’t expect. Lovely old job.

Championship League Riders Championship

One point behind Cook. But if people really want to compare the two then league averages would be the only way to do it and that shows a fair old gap across the three main leagues. -
Championship League Riders Championship

Not as good as he thinks he is? On the contrary, I’d suggest that one of Cook’s main issues is his self belief and confidence. I’d also add that while doubling up exists any British rider should be entitled to do it if they wish. Cook is riding for Glasgow because he wasn’t able to get a regular ride in Poland so it was mutually beneficial for them to offer him a team place. -
Somerset v Kings Lynn Tuesday September 4th

Exactly, one would suspect his options were limited. Klindt is uninspiring but better than R/R. -
I can remember several of us commenting on how we were in the right place at the right time and had been fortunate to meet you on that night. Also as it was a GP qualifier (which shouldn’t be raced on Mondays anyway as it’s a UK race day) it could easily have been Iversen & Lambert missing that night. Your last sentence rather spoils what was up til them a very good post. Our fixture list is a shambles and I think Lynn favs are entitled to express their displeasure.

Scorpions v Sheffield 31.08.2018 7.30pm
Bagpuss replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Spot on, British speedway is far too lax with how rules and regs are applied. Shanes could have ridden last night and today if he had really wanted to. Its worrying how many folk shrug their shoulders at flimsy appliance of rules. Without proper governance you have a weak sport. Good to see Kasper impressing again by the way. -
Just one, that being the team full of Danish riders who therefore had to have lots of blank Wednesdays as most of our team were riding in their homeland. Chuck in two or three rain offs and you get the need for two double headers. At least they are in the school holidays and in decent weather but certainly very much less than ideal, and it needs sorting for next year.

When it was much slicker than normal! If a track is prepared grippy (as is any home teams right) it’s a different kettle of fish, riders aren’t used to it and if the home riders have the set ups spot on then you get score charts like last night where quality, experienced away riders are made to look silly. We had it at Lynn in the noughties.....I remember thrashing Edinburgh in 2003 and riders like Rory Schlein and Frede Schott were being beaten by Darren Mallett and Adam Allott simply because of set ups. Of course it helps when you have a good team like Edinburgh have, I don’t see comments about home advantage as a criticism, it’s just reality. And doesn’t need to be met with defensiveness. As long as the track doesn’t have bumps and holes in it then it’s all good.

Somerset v Kings Lynn Tuesday September 4th
Bagpuss replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
One would imagine that Lynn were missing at least one rider for the other dates offered. Not ideal going there without NKI, in fact he is likely to be a huge miss but it’s preferable to the fixture not taking place before the cut off. -
He /she is right though....as you said yourself on a different thread when Armadale is prepared grippy it is an extremely difficult track for away riders to score points on. Has as much home advantage as any track in the country, the results over the years refelect that. Not sure why you take such great offence from that being stated.

Poole v Kings Lynn. Prem B. 1st August 2018
Bagpuss replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Agree but we don’t want any that to include not putting effort into meetings to reduce averages. -
It’s shambolic, but it is what it is and I think the time to dissect it is when the season is done. More importantly Lynn need six points from this to finish top, along with a couple from the two preceding evenings. I’m a bit concerned about four matches in three nights, the toll on man and machinery could be significant. Just hope we come through it with all seven riders in one piece.

Norfolk Braves ran out of Kings Lynn for a short time, I think it was in between being at Skegness and being renamed Boston.

I wouldn’t give up on Kurtz just yet, he appears to have the raw materials to be a very good speedway rider. Next year he could have a season like Lambert is having where everything clicks into place. -

Precisely, which is why we won’t be picking them if we finish top. -

Plus the fact that we are awful at your muck heap, as Mr Sovlar has said you would still have won the B fixtures over two legs even with last nights result. Not sure what be least palatable for Poole fans, the fact they were garbage or that they were not trying ie ripping off the paying public and average massaging. Personally I think it was probably the former but you never know with the Dark Lord Ford. -

As I said, he’d be the perfect politician That said I certainly don’t read anything into tonight as far as a play off meeting goes. Great to be in form though. -

Are you getting this rain over Lynn way? Awful morning in the Fakenham area. -
Kings Lynn v Poole Wednesday August 29th
Bagpuss replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
For me it’s pretty simple, we have had two hidings at your place this season but have won at Belle Vue and drawn at Somerset, two tracks which suit us much better. I believe we can beat the Rebels and Aces over two legs but have a much smaller chance against Poole. Therefore I believe we need to finish top, pick Belle Vue and hope that we beat them and Somerset beat Poole. Nobody is being underestimated. -

Where on earth have you got that from? -
Not sure it makes an awful lot of difference to be honest.

Spot on. We are so bad at the Dorset rollercoaster that we need to avoid that lot at all costs. Other than riding that track my main concern is the lack of points from number seven, need MPT to be on fire for the Play Offs to cover.

Mr Shovlar would make a wonderful politician, fantastic at ignoring and denying negative issues and peddling propaganda to deflect attention. Definitely a missed vocation
