  1. Considering our last two results away st Poole and Somerset I’m surprised at our odds. However I don’t expect anything the bookies say to affect our riders, but being in the final if we get there might. Not many of our riders have been there before.
  2. Lynn have recently been seen as very (too) loyal to riders, it’s more than likely that Kerr, Rose and Andersen would all be in the team now if they hadn’t picked up injuries and forced the promotion’s hand. No doubt we are stronger with their replacements and in a perverse way Lynn’s hand being forced has probably resulted in topping the table.
  3. If a team has access to their track to practice then good luck to them, don’t see the issue.
  4. I don’t think the management are poor, but they do seem to rub fans of other teams up the wrong way. I’m sure it’s little more than water off a ducks back to them.
  5. Assuming we go through I don’t think there will be a clear favourite whoever we face.
  6. Agree with fb, only takes one rider to have a crash and all of a sudden you are down to five men and right up against it with a huge strain on man and machine. Assuming Somerset finish the meeting with all six starters I can still see this going to the wire.
  7. I’d always rather go into a meeting with seven riders rather than six, especially one in the Play Offs.
  8. Looking forward to watching this on the telly, could go either way. Wouldn’t be surprised if it goes down to the thirtieth heat.
  9. If Etheridge was worried for his safety in heat 14 I suggest he takes up bowls or snooker and stops racing motorcycles.
  10. To be fair a Wolves fan warned us earlier in the thread that one or two of these types would show up last night. No doubt he intentionally positioned himself next to the away supporters!
  11. Seriously. Yes he made the situation worse, yes he made himself look silly on TV and yes he was right to apologise but I don’t believe he got involved to ignite things.
  12. To me it looked like Dale was trying to diffuse a situation which he thought was going to occur but hadn’t really got started and instead it made things worse. All a bit of a storm in a teacup really, he apologised and that should be that. Emotions run high in important meetings and I’m sure Etheridge will look on it this morning and feel a bit silly for his actions too. Not really worth people getting their knickers in a twist over IMO.
  13. Just because MPT scored a hatful last night doesn’t mean he would necessarily do the same at Somerset or Poole.
  14. Thing is this is speedway, anything can happen. We could suffer a couple of injuries on the night next Monday or a spate of engine problems, you just never know. Unlikely as it is that we will not now go through it’s not done til it’s done and everyone will stay calm and focussed until 91 points have been scored.
  15. Job well done tonight in the end, all season this Lynn team has kept its head and not panicked when making a bad start to a meeting so was never overly worried tonight, especially with Belle Vue’s misfortune injury wise. The task is only half completed though and anything can happen in the second leg so fingers crossed for a smooth and incident free passage through to the final next Monday.
  16. The two teams who deserve to reach the final are the two teams who score the most points on aggregate in their semis.
  17. Absolutely, Belle Vue are on their own circuit tonight and if all six of their riders turn up they could win the meeting comfortably and take a decent lead into next week. However as the team who finished top we should be looking to go there tonight with two of their best riders missing and killing the tie off or at least coming away with a small lead. And that is not underestimating Belle Vue at all. (to Bald Bloke)
  18. Massive blow for Belle Vue, takes the shine off the tie a bit unfortunately. Lynn need to be cashing in big time tonight.
  19. Excellent view on the back straight, hope all the Lynn fans can gather together and make plenty of noise for the boys.
  20. Moto GP is pretty ordinary racing wise, better than F1 but similar in that the hype is often greater than the action. However Moto 3 is fantastic, there are passes on every part of the track each lap usually, almost too many! And because the riders are mostly teenagers they are generally more daring. Would take a good speedway meeting over any of that though, although they seem to be few and far between nowadays.
  21. Just to offer a different viewpoint Proctor has been brilliant this year at Lynn, his performances have exceeded expectations considerably and like the rest of the team he has bought into the teamwork approach and has been fully involved in the team spirit and togetherness.
  22. This is the downside of Play Offs. Yes they can mean big crowds and a ‘grand finale’ but when it’s a case of deciding league titles between teams full of guests it becomes a bit farcical.
