  1. Two things; 1. Why has been released now when the club's Twitter feed said only five hours ago that it would be Friday? 2. Proctor is an awful signing, his best days are way behind him and he is unlikely to improve. Might as well have had Palm Toft back! One can only assume that Erik Riss wanted to much money if he was ever under consideration. Bit of a shambles really. Fans forum a waste of time for many as we know the last two are Iversen and Andersen. Looks a pretty ordinary team which will get some humpings on the road.
  2. Of course Tungate's move wouldn't be termed 'dirty' if it was a Poole rider making it at Wimborne Road on a Wednesday evening
  3. That is as may be but it's unlikely to be until 2019 now, perhaps over the next few months things will change with a new promoter on board and if he has a breakthrough season he may not feel the need to be elsewhere. A lot can happen in twelve months, rather than predicting doom and gloom let's just see what happens.
  4. I think we can safely say that Kurtz wasn't a 'cut above' anybody in that field after all. Maybe in the future. Or maybe not.
  5. Absolutely, people label him and Woffy arrogant for being honest and speaking their minds but I find it refreshing. They are driven and desperate to be successful and will speak out if things block their path. Because they aren't yes men they will always be unpopular unfortunately but I would rather read honesty. I don't believe Lambert will give anything less than 100% for Lynn on race night but time will tell.
  6. Absolutely. If he refuses what Scandinavian rider accepts then tough breast, as long as they are on a par with what similar ability riders are getting elsewhere.
  7. No hopers are difficult to quantify, but if for example if Joe Bloggs from Blackpool had a 5.2 average and desperately wanted a CL place then he should get one before a new European rider on a 5.2 does. Of course if it's Danny Smith on a 3.5 and a team has over five points left you wouldn't expect them to sign him and be way under the limit, Danny would have to miss out and wait for an opening and said Scandinavian would be able to fill that slot.
  8. Fricke is quality, it's pretty plain to see. I wouldn't use Aussie championships as much of a barometer, averages from the Polish, Swedish and British top divisions are a better indication. World U21 results where applicable are also a good gauge. If you can beat the cream of the Polish youngsters on their missile bikes then you have got something about you.
  9. Have really got into Moto GP in the last few years. The Moto 3 class is incredible, there is almost too much passing! I agree with HT, speedway can be both family and extreme.
  10. I like Tatum but could quite happily see Pearson dispensed with.
  11. There would be no complaints from me if there were no four point foreigners in the PL. Wouldn't want Jacobs or Auty but would take Perks, would have any of them if we were a CL team though. Which is what the discussion is about after all, these lads missing out on second division spots. Why should new foreign riders get spots before all the Brits who want a place are offered one?
  12. Exactly these. Lots if predictable OTT stuff on here but I quite like the honesty of the article. He's not saying he's not happy at Lynn, just that he thinks some time away will benefit his career and its hard to disagree. He is also bang on about the asset system. And the sponsorship bits are quite common this time of year, pretty much every rider is looking for backing. Glad he is back with the Stars, and he may well feel differently this time next year. If not he will go elsewhere with my best wishes.
  13. I believe so, and Riss is 5.75 so going by your figures they would fit? I like Riss, seems to have something about him and should be able to improve a fair bit.
  14. Toft 5.57? Or Andersen and Riss rather than Gino and ?????
  15. They will have a plan B I'm sure, would probably be a solid team with a weak number one but there will be one. Better to be positive though and believe that Puk will sign.
  16. My glass is half full. That bridge can be crossed if and when we get to it.
  17. Source? I'm sure he will be back, along with TJ, Lewis x 2, new Danish lad and Puk if the Poles get off their high horse. So just one question mark left in that case, lots of rumours about Mandates but that would mean a team considerably under the points limit. Perhaps that is what was meant by the team being picked by a 'wider criteria' this year? Would have liked THJ on that average but I get why he divides opinion, just think starting at reserve he would have been a definite improver. Must be his choice to just do Sweden & Poland, can't believe he hasn't had at least one UK offer.
  18. I'm not singling your club out, the discussion just happens to have developed on this thread. The article says that the CL promoters voted for this 'initiative' as a whole so they are all to blame. Usual Edinburgh defensiveness! Whether these foreigners achieve seven is neither here nor there, it stands to reason that if they are 1.8 cheaper in than they should be in the first place they are more likely to be signed and make those riders already in the 5-6 point bracket that Paul speaks of even more vulnerable, including the British ones.
  19. ......and now they are even more vulnerable due to foreigners who should be on sevens being turned into 5.2 ringers.
