How will Martin Vaculik fare in the U.K.?
Bagpuss replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Might find it tough initially with all the tracks being new to him but should improve as the season progresses and then really flourish next year if he comes back. -
Scunthorpe Scorpions 2018

This guff stopped being funny a long time ago. -

I wasn't saying that you are one if the whingers, merely following on your point with one of my own. There is a difference between constructive criticism and moaning, and over this winter it's been easy to pick the moaning out as the same points have been made several times over three months. There is positive stuff going on at the club yet people would rather make the same negative points ad nauseum. Would be interesting to know if anybody has approached the club directly concerning the VFM issue.
-
There is but people keep going on and on and on about the whole VFM thing, we've had three months of it. The promotion can't put anything right until the season starts and meetings take place, so how about a bit of positivity until then? This thread has had far too much negativity on it. And just to say I am not somebody who can't see any wrong in what the club does, if the racing is crap and meetings drag on until 10pm I won't be going much either. But the constant whinging is wearing a little thin.

Championship Predictions 2018

Don't disagree however I'd say that Kerr is a very good reserve and we will have one of those all year whoever drops down to there. The weakness is the middle order.

Rider safety comes above all else and if that means sun delays then so be it, what the club can do is make sure that the rest of the evening flows as efficiently as possible and provide something to keep people entertained in the meantime. Anyway this morning's news is something positive and while only being part of the puzzle called success it's a step in the right direction. That's what the focus should be on today, we've had three months of negativity on here already.

All valid points and I'm sure Belle Vue have their fair share of shaftings in the past but to say that officialdom will ensure that you never win the play offs is a little far fetched.

I've read some paranoia on here but that takes the biscuit.

I always thought the problem was coming out of the 4th bend and therefore going from 'dark to light' very suddenly. By which time they are usually well strung out (too much so!) anyway.
-
Indeed. Not sure what can be done about that unfortunately.

parade half seven and first race quarter to eight sharp!

90 minutes (ie 19:45 - 21:15) is plenty long enough and would be ideal.

SGB Premiership Confirmed signings 2018.
Bagpuss replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He has to be a 4, surely a Speedway Star error. -
They could say whatever they want about all aspects of the racenight experience, the only way to tell is once we have had a meeting or two, to see if the racing is good and if it's all over and done with in a reasonable time. I think the new season has to be seen as a new slate especially with a new promoter on board. Talking about last season isn' any good for anybody really, let's look forward and base any criticism on what happens in the future.

I assumed Kasper's average was a misprint but apparently not. Doesn't make an awful lot of difference as I think the other six riders would have been signed regardless but it would be interesting to know why he is a five and not four. Perhaps he has achieved more in Europe than I had assumed.

I expect it all came down to pounds, shillings and pence.
-
Don't quite share your optimism but I agree that the Lynn side has some good elements and could be a dark horse for 4th. Think it will need somebody to have their breakthrough season though.
-
I just think they give a team much more of a united identity rather than looking like a bunch of waifs and strays. Certainly a must if the league is going to be on telly again this year.
-
Massive step backwards if this is true about no racesuits.
-
Absolutely. Knowing Buster he won't care that he's getting slated, water off a ducks back. You are never going to please everybody but at least they are starting to be consistent.
-
Agree that an explanation should be forthcoming.
-
Obviously different when it's your own team In Lakeside's case though they should have been told immediately that their reserves averages were incorrect.
