  1. Just managed to watch this, thought Tai came across really well, was an entertaining show.
  2. Even if they are good enough they have been shoved down the order by foreigners on bargain averages now.
  3. You could well be right and I don't think he helped himself having a year out a few seasons back but if a club invested some time and effort in him he may well be able to achieve more. He showed in 2016 at Belle Vue that in the right environment he could score decent points. Just doesn't sit right with me that there are British lads struggling to get a ride yet we seem happy to make is easy for foreign riders to get team spots, the Brits need to be put first.
  4. No doubt this brainwave that the CL promoters have had (as explained on Edinburgh thread) in getting new foreigners over here on lower averages has contributed to Jacobs packing in and Perks falling to get a spot. How many more Brits well suffer?
  5. And no doubt this has contributed to Perks, Jacobs and any other British lads who miss out not getting a CL ride in 2018. Marvellous.
  6. I thought that but the signing of the young Dane probably rules that out.
  7. I appreciate that and can understand why, but it's difficult to take people seriously who flag up the bad stuff every time it happens but are nowhere to be seen when there are good things to comment on. Works in reverse as well of course.
  8. I think the secret of being a good opinion giver is to make sure your thoughts are balanced.....people who are persistently negative (or positive) will attract criticism. Especially if they bang on and on about the same things ad nauseam. I think most of us can detect which posters are to be take notice of and which are not by their posts and how they are written.
  9. Don't think your team will have anyone rattled unfortunately. Quietly cautious and respectful of perhaps but not rattled, certainly not away from your own patch. But speedway isn't raced on paper so you never know.
  10. Far be it from me to defend the south coast mafia but Kurtz won every race he finished yesterday so a bit harsh to stick the boot in on him anyway.
  11. One of those seven must be wrong as we can't possibly be going in to the season a couple of points below the limit.
  12. Yes but they have nothing to do with this thread do they?
  13. Anyone can have one good meeting in isolation Sidney. His averages having been around for for over a decade tell their own story. Would be very disappointed if he is named in Lynn's 1-7.
  14. In that case Manzares out and a six ish pointer in putting Kerr at reserve.
  15. Never said that side would be 'good enough', just refuting your claim that it would be 'mighty weak' as it wouldn't be with Iversen as a top drawer number one and a talent like Lebedevs having seven rides from reserve. Average and mid table perhaps, but not mighty weak. As for Auty, he may well give 100% but he is never going to improve and is as unreliable and inconsistent as a speedway rider could be. Apart from overriding and coming a cropper, which you can rely on him to do regularly.
  16. Yep Pedersen at the wrong end of his career and will have had the best part of a year out injured, would be a massive risk. No thank you.
  17. No team with Iversen at one and Lebedevs at reserve would be 'mighty weak' Sidney. Maybe Auty at seven would make all the difference for you
  18. I reckon Jorgensen (long since signed of course) Kerr, Rose, Lambert and the new Dane are in and the debate is who the other two are. Iversen and Manzares are the names bandied about most but I'm thinking that seven would be under the limit? And lack a third heat leader.
  19. Plenty of the predictable annual defensiveness when people don't rate a team get a grip people, it's a discussion forum. Almost any of these riders could end up as number one, hopefully it'll be Bewley. Early on there looks like few race winners away from home but solid outfit nonetheless.
  20. http://kingslynnstars.co/news.php?extend.30562
  21. I think somewhere like Poole which is so holidaymaker-rich in the summer months can only benefit from some kind of speedway presence in the town centre. Whether a coffee shop is the best idea I'm not sure but in essence it's a good concept.
  22. Neither should get stick, people have a choice of either getting involved or not, moaning about it shouldn't need to be an option. Good luck to Cook for 2018. And Bomber for that matter.
  23. Doesn't look too bad to me, and most importantly contains five young lads.
  24. If that is the case it pretty much sums up everything that is wrong with British speedway.
