I think it's foolish to rule anything in or out, if a rider wants a spot and the money is right things can happen that ddon't seem likely. Dangerous to live in such a black and white world.
-
The word 'transparency' was bandied about when Buster first took office, so lets have some now. Lets hear WHY these decisions are being taken. Other than the odd paranoid conspiracy theorist most of us would guess it's all some attempt at cost cutting but EXPLAIN it all to the few hard core fans who are left so we can try and understand why the product is being made less attractive once again.
-
No idea, why did Poole do the same with Charles Wright? You would assume in both cases the riders came available at the right price.
-
Last year, and he hasn't.

King a Lynn asset so not out of the question.

I think he'll be staying at Leicester even on a nine.

Scott Nicholls Not Allowed To Ride In The Championship?
Bagpuss replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The averages of Harris & Morris plus the scores from Nicholls guesting last season suggests that none of them are 'too good' for the second division. -
Scott Nicholls Not Allowed To Ride In The Championship?

Any British rider should be able to double up if they wish and the club concerned are happy to take them on with their average. -
Beggars belief that British riders who want to double up aren't permitted to yet there are plenty of average foreigners who can.
-
Exactly this. The jealousy and bitterness towards Glasgow is tedious, the way the club is run and promoted is an example for others to follow, all people want to do is snipe because they may pay more than their own club, utterly boring. I'd also suggest that injuries had an awful lot to do with them not going much closer to the league title last year.

Even if it's by only half a point or so I just cant believe that THJ wouldn't improve on 4.64. The days of him turning into the rider he promised to be have long gone but he would surely be a decent reserve or solid second string. As for Doyle, I can't see the money being there to sign him, however rather than wanting the product watered down surely any promoters who voted for the eight point rule did so so they had a better chance of securing a decent number one so therefore they will be in the market for any top riders made available?
-
I thank Niklas for his efforts but after some encouraging displays in 2013 when he first came in its fair to say that he has subsequently been a pretty big disappointment and his average says it all really. Good luck to him for the future though.
-
Very good signing.

See my above post. The point I was making is that we don't want to be excluding more quality riders from our league, wouldn't be fair to stop Swindon and Wolves using their second highest averaging riders and then prevent them using another quality rider in their place. I think all three of us can agree that the eight point rule is daft. Hope you can see what I'm getting at.
-
I think we were looking at it from different angles, I can see your point and it wouldn't be great if Morris is out of a job. But as far as employing Zagar, Kildemand or Woffinden instead I'd say good luck to Swindon or anyone else if they can afford them instead as the eight point rule is a poor one. Hardly madness when we all want to see better riders over here.
-
Why would it be total madness please?
-
If 'average' is, say, a six point average then he will have put on nearly a point and a half on his starting figure. I'd take that.
-
Surely you can see the appeal of signing him on a sub five point average and starting him at number seven? If he was over five and had to start in the main team I'd agree with you but as the lowest average rider he must be worth consideration.
-
Calling them the money men confirms your bitterness. Therefore resenting the work of the people who are doing the sport good with the way they have taken their club by the scruff of the neck and are promoting it properly.
-
So going with that...... Lambert 7.38 Jorgensen 5.93 Toft 5.57 Rose 5.25 Kerr 5.06 which leaves 13.21 for the other two. Others who may be in the frame are Porsing 4.73 Auty 4.68 Jonasson 4.64 Anyone know Puk's average?
-
Unless one of these posters is actually the Rye promoter who voted then I'd suggest they can name whoever they like in their ideas for a team without the need for permission or not from you. While I disagree with the rule too and therefore have sympathy with Swindon fans a few posts have come across as being written by spoilt children who can't get there own way.

Id have him at Lynn, brilliant there. Maybe the responsibility of being a number one could move his career to the next level.
-
Thorsell is bloody good at Lynn......

While this thread title and sentiment is a little OTT, and I'm no fan of top heavy teams or imbalanced leagues (especially with only eight teams competing) I would have preferred there to be no eight pointer restrictions. Doesn't allow the league to prosper. That said the main point of fixed racenights for me is to avoid second division fixtures. Any big names we do / would have attracted is a bonus.
