  1. Above all he wants a winning team though and whether this rule was his idea or not it makes it more likely Poole will be one of the best sides in 2018.
  2. Just to clarify, is it just one tac sub permitted for next season?
  3. Cook will have flaws at this level at least initially and I don't expect him to trouble the top eight, BUT he can gate which is absolutely vital. Certainly don't think he will be cannon fodder. If he can get some good kit under him he will be a nuisance and a spoiler at least. May even surprise us all and finish somewhere around midway in the series.
  4. You are talking eight years ago, I'd suggest the club is a very different animal now. Anyway seems there will he no extra clubs in the top flight which is a great shame.
  5. Stop being a wally and let people post where they like.
  6. Disappointing the number of top flight teams hasn't increased.
  7. Bit silly to judge him on one race while ignoring all the ones he did well in. Goes without saying that I hope he is nowhere other than Lynn. I don't go to many matches any more and may well stop going to Lynn completely if he is elsewhere.
  8. Why do we get this impatient nonsense every year? Find something interesting to do for the weekend and Monday morning will arrive much quicker.
  9. Yep not entirely displeased with that. Hopefully he'll come back in the future a more rounded competitor. One of those frustrating riders who could win a race against good opposition by quarter of a lap and then come last in his next heat against a poor line up.
  10. Great stats spinny. And the whole point is that Auty won't ever catch Howarth, he long since peaked and is on his way down whereas Howarth is still improving. They aren't even in the same bracket.
  11. Thank goodness your negative thoughts about him are very much in a minority as far as King's Lynn fans are concerned. Most people realise he is still very young and has plenty of time to reach his full potential whatever that may be. The idea that he should be in the world's top twenty at 19 years old is laughable, riders like Darcy Ward come along very rarely and every promising young rider shouldn't be judged against what he achieved. It's time people concentrated on what Lambert has achieved and can do rather than the negative stuff.
  12. Lambert has already said that he won't be riding in the Championship and has signed contracts in Sweden and Poland. As for loaning him out, can see what you are saying but it would lose hundreds off the gate and there is no guarantee he would come back if he got on well wherever he went instead. So it's a bad idea on many levels. He has always said that riding for a track 45 minutes down the road works well for him and lets hope that continues. As for Auty, to me if you sign somebody on four and a half points you want them to have improvement in them and Auty just doesn't. I'm sure there will be many better options.
  13. Fixed race nights are years overdue, complete no brainer to keep away from championship fixtures and therefore eliminate doubling up clashes.
  14. Assuming they have similar levels of ability why on earth would Lambert be anywhere near Morris when the latter has three more years experience? If Lambert now is performing to a similar level to Morris in 2014 then I'd suggest there is little to worry about. Wish people would leave Lambert alone and just let him develop.
  15. Nick Morris has started to develop into a very, very good rider. I'm not going to sit here and say that Lambert will turn out to be as good or better than Morris but it's worth bearing in mind that he has three extra years experience and development on Lambert.
  16. I think you've got two hopes of Morris being anywhere other than Swindon next season, and one of those died in 2003.
  17. The fact that Cook was heavily involved says it all.
  18. Cricket offers losing bonus points too. Don't think either rugby union or cricket are or ever have been joke sports. There is plenty wrong with speedway in the UK but the scoring system ain't one of em.
  19. In don't see it as rewarding failure.....you are gaining a point and denying the home team one (in the original system) by putting up a good away performance in a sport where home advantage can be enormous and it can keep meetings alive where they may otherwise be over long before heat 15. The BSPA have very few good ideas but this was one and IMO worked well before they mucked around with it.
  20. Why is it a farce? Home advantage is so strong in speedway that an away result of any kind should be worth more.
  21. I'd say that somebody who can gate is more likely to get you a heat advantage than somebody who can't.
  22. Nope. Revert the current scoring system to its original guise, i.e. before Mr Cook etc al messed around with it and make the home team win by seven or more to collect all three points on offer. It's one of the few good ideas that the BSPA have had in years and is better than the bonus point IMO. Perhaps so but the fact is that getting home way past ten is going to put parents off. Earlier finishes = more kids.
  23. Auty won't improve unfortunately, that ship has sailed. He was entertaining and full of effort but was liable to throw in bad rides or meetings anywhere and I don't see him being a sensible use of points. Can't gate and will override trying to make up for that, not a good combination. Kerr can gate and knows the tracks well and would be a better signing. That said a fully committed THJ (which in the main he was last year) on that average would be a better signing than both.
  24. Wouldn't consider either personally, unless Jonasson is on a bargain average.
  25. Not too far out with that team for me. Assuming they are all willing and able I'd look at Iversen, Lambert, Jorgensen, Palm Toft, Kerr & Rose and then see what's left.
