  1. Thats exactly what I am saying Sid, words mean very little. It's all about the quality of the night out starting on April 4th. I'm sure the club are under no illusions that they have to pull their socks up but whatever they come out and say before then is irrelevant if the racing and VFM isn't good. Silimarly the disgruntled punters now need to give them the opportunity to get it right.
  2. Wait and see is the key phrase. Whatever anyone says on either side of the fence ie club or supporters means very little, it's what actually happens on the first few race nights that really counts. Hopefully everybody will be able to put 2017 behind them and move forward.
  3. To me all these ingredients are important; good racing, a competitive team if not one who always wins and the feeling of being valued as a customer. I didn't personally see last year's actions as 'throwing in the towel', but more taking a stand against a couple of disruptive team members who weren't interested in giving 100% an replacing them with much weaker riders but with some who did give maximum effort. The promotion were partly to blame for the whole mess so although there were apologies and statements I think more could have been done to admit that mistakes had been made. I think this probably went a fair way to getting Brundle on board. Hopefully we will get a rallying call before April to appease people and reassure them that their concerns are being fully considered.
  4. Thomas Jorgensen, Josh Bailey and Taylor Hampshire were in the photos too.
  5. Could only be that three riders attended the training as the fourth person is unidentified. Alternatively it might not be sensible to take one photo as definitive proof of who was there and who wasn't......... As for the press releases, I understood it as being a piece of news every Friday rather than a huge announcement but could be wrong. Pleased to hear that Bunce got a swift reply and that the service is being resurrected.
  6. First fitness session completed http://www.kingslynnstars.co/_mobile/news.php?extend.30574
  7. To me it's pretty simple, balance means that when good things happen people praise the club and when bad things occur they get criticised. Trouble is the same criticisms have been raked up on dozens of occasions over the winter whereas the last two Friday announcements have hardly been mentioned, that is an imbalance. The comments about poor racing, late starting and finishing, too much grading etc are all perfectly valid but if anybody from the club was going to read them they would have done by now. With a new promoter on board the next step is to see what the first two or three meetings bring in terms of VFM (and there is extra pressure on the club with a £1 increase) and if it's not good then fair enough, get stuck in as it will be deserved criticism. February and March is the time when excitement is meant to rise and people are looking forward to the first meeting and seeing new (and old) faces representing the club, would be nice to see a bit of this while being mindful that there is plenty of work to do for the club to get people back on board and feeling satisfied again. That is balance.
  8. I can see the sense behind the rule but to implement it in such a way that it excludes two Brits from extra racing in the UK that they need and to deprive second division fans from seeing them was awful decision making. Anyway hopefully we'll get an update soon so that the poor little obsessed jenga can get a sound nights sleep and not have to worry any more.
  9. The figure in the Star must be an error. I can't see any reason why he would be a five rather than a four.
  10. I think I preferred the negative Brian to the sarcastic one.......
  11. Somewhere in the middle. Great number one and senior reserve, two promising youngsters but a middle order with plenty to prove.
  12. The negative stuff is disproportionate to the rosy garden stuff I'm afraid.
  13. All positive stuff wouldn't be balanced would it
  14. Not really, just that we've heard the same negative stuff a trillion times since November and good things are largely being ignored. Some of us just want a bit of balance.
  15. Thank you. One can only assume then that nobody at the forum was dissatisfied last year or was brave enough to speak up.
  16. So the floor wasn't opened to questions from the audience? I'd have thought a once a year gathering of supporters world be an ideal opportunity to find out what people think and reassure those who had criticisms of the previous season that things would be put right.
  17. This could be the year when Erik really flourishes, any spell at number one could be the making of him. Quite disappointed that my team didn't go for him to be honest.
  18. You really do take it to heart when people don't rate your precious Comets don't you?
  19. I agree, he has plenty to put right this year and isn't great at receiving criticism, constructive or otherwise, but I don't see the value in people making their point on here several times over without telling the people who run the club how they feel. Perhaps Mr Brundle might be better at taking feedback on board. Like you I don't believe Buster will sacrifice bar takings for a slick and quick meeting duration but something a bit swifter is a must. The most important thing is better racing and some luck with the weather as many people just won't take the risk any more if it might rain.
  20. Did anybody raise the points discussed on here at the fans forum out of interest?
  21. I think generally it's a good thing that these two riders look like they'll be able to ride in the second division after all, as it makes the league more competitive and gives two Brits more racing. However to stop a team (Lakeside) from signing them back in November and then effectively putting them back on the market three months later is really poor. Why can't speedway get its house in order as soon as the season finishes so everybody knows exactly where they stand? It always seemed daft to exclude Nicholls and Kennett from doubling up while still allowing Morris, Harris, Cook etc to do so if they wish. Once again something not thought through at all.
  22. Unless Rye rode at Swindon on a Thursday when P'boro had an away match at Sheffield, Redcar or Ipswich.
  23. Hopefully he'll spontaneously combust.
