The general feeling on the Berwick thread that Lakeside were pulling a fast one with a stronger guest didn't help matters either. -

Another competitive away showing which is pleasing. Just need to get Neils up to speed which is a matter of when and not if. Robert looks like he means business this year. Hats off to Rory. -
Splitting hairs really as Andersen would have fit in Sundstroms place, so foreverblue's point remains.

Same in Fakenham, dry roads here although five miles up the road towards Norwich it's a bit wetter. BBC still predicting heavier rain later today, we shall see. -

Delighted to be proved wrong they've not got today right either so far, just bits and pieces of rain rather than the predicted deluge. If they get Wednesday wrong too we might even see some speedway -
Sorry to hear that. Hope to see him back refreshed and fully fit in due course. Michael Palm Toft is a decent replacement.

Parts of Norfolk expected to get up to 80mm of rain today (the average for April as a whole is only 44mm). Even with the football and the guests removed from the equation it'll be a miracle if this meeting goes ahead. -

The guests have been well chosen and one could argue make us a little stronger but that's not the point, people want to see a full team of their own riders. -

Why? He scored 15 last time at Lynn on bikes that are almost certainly sitting in Norfolk. There seem to be a lot of comments on Premiership match threads about Polish meetings this year, not sure scores over there are particularly relevant to our league. Not rubbish at all. If all clubs had worked together for the good of British speedway as a whole there would have been no clashes as Premiership fixtures would have been on Mondays and Thursdays. -

Ipswich vs Newcastle 26/4/18
Bagpuss replied to 89buttons's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A bit of research would have revealed what the two above posts have outlined. No he shouldn't have ridden and yes he has probably let his team down as a result but it had nothing to do with Sedgmenitis. Hopefully he now takes time out to heal properly, difficult when no racing means no pay though I guess. -

Because he's a second string so you can only use R/R. -

Wolves are mega strong at home but we have started the season quite well.....Lewis Rose needs to be fit if he rides as he obviously wasn't at the Foxhole last night. Can see us going down fighting by 10-12 points. -
I think we can probably deduce from the Newcastle scorechart at Ipswich tonight that Lewis Rose is nowhere near fit.

No doubt the Sky money ended up in the pockets of big name riders. -
KK has always had the talent, it's his desire which determines how well he scores. When on song and in full flight their are few better riders in the world.

NBJ was the difference, fair play to him.

Another sensible call off. Everyone knows where they stand. The problem of course comes if they run out of dates when they could have run a meeting in damp conditions in front of a reduced crowd...... -
Nice touch to pay tribute to the four riders who have lost their lives at the track.

This is what you originally said. It is very different. Riders do practice starts and the odd reasonably fast corner after a standard parade. The Hot Laps concept is three full speed laps from a flying start, at race pace. -

'Hot Laps' was introduced this season presumably by Robin Brundle to give those arriving before 7pm some extra entertainment before the meeting (SCB approved). Last week the whole Lynn team did it and then at their request it seems Belle Vue did the same (three laps per rider). It appears its been tweaked this week to be four riders from each team which is a good idea. I like the concept, and as somebody mentioned last week (Najjer?) a Top Gear / Stig style leaderboard across the season could beva great idea.
