  1. It's a bit of a mystery why the EoES hasn't held more SWC events really.
  2. I've long said that the shale used (as well as our long straights) doesn't lend itself to decent racing, as HT says there just isn't an outside line to speak of any more and hasn't been for a long while. If it's the case that stocks rule the roost then that's just how it is, the money they generate keeps the stadium and therefore the speedway going so we just have to put up with it. Or not go I suppose!
  3. And that Lakeside have lost so many home matches.
  4. Lewis spends far too much time on the deck unfortunately.
  5. You've obviously had some kind of run in with Buster as all of your posts on Lynn threads are negative, critical and very rarely balanced.
  6. I agree about a uniform race night for the EL but it's unlikely to ever happen. Maybe a couple of race nights could happen though rather than five. The other bit is nothing to do with EL snobbery, it's just daft that riders who are looking to break into the big time are missing top division meeting to ride in second tier matches, it defies common sense. And I'd say the same if they both rode for my team in the PL.
  7. I really don't think hoarding is realistic in any way, the main problem is leaving the fourth bend where according to the riders it goes from relative darkness to bright sunshine. To block that out you are talking about an unfeasibly high structure, it just ain't gonna happen. I'd imagine it wasn't a problem in the past because rider's attitudes were different, I expect they just got on with it and probably used tinted goggles. Why can't they do that now? The promotion can however have the finger pointed at them for unnecessary intervals and putting refreshment & bar sales ahead of people getting home at a reasonable time. I'd suggest that if your promotion is happy with taking just a point from a track you generally ride as well as your own against a side missing two of its heat leaders then their ambition is some way below where it should be.
  8. Unbelievable result, Poole should have broken 50 with ease and will be kicking themselves for not doing so. Massive thank you to Sam Masters for a great guest score, and well done to the five fit Stars. Very proud!
  9. As usual you are completely clueless. If anything Lynn's track is too smooth and consistent, always well prepared however much shale is on it. The poor racing has nothing to do with the the prep, IMO it's a combination of the dirt used and the shape.
  10. Quite right, three quarters of speedway's troubles are a result of dreadful fixture planning. I agree about Cook and Josh G, these are two riders who we are told are ambitious and want to improve so they really shouldn't miss EL matches to ride in the PL regardless of who's asset they may be. No admission of being wrong about Fricke & Nielsen though, you'd make a great politician
  11. This is something all tracks should do when Sky is in town.
  12. They have all declined it would seem. As a self employed seasonal worker myself it's disappointing to see riders turning down extra work.
  13. Same old EL v PL arguments but as usual people ignore the facts that the PL generally has the better racetracks, the price difference is so little nowadays and that many riders double down rather than up. The main issue the EL has is the one of missing riders, it seems to get worse every year and needs to be addressed (squads) so that we aren't subjected to random guests and R/R every week. Letting Lord Ford go by his own personal rulebook doesn't help matters either.
  14. Plus Lambert & Kerr carrying knocks. Think it would be fair to say that Lord Ford and his cronies are visiting us at a good time.
  15. That's exactly my point. If you gate well at Lynn you are laughing. Source?
  16. That's wrong for a start as he beat Lambert in the Play Off meeting, and also in the British Semi. He also beat Nicholls in the semi who top scored for Belle Vue in April! So by no means awful at Lynn at all.
  17. Two years ago, great. He has scored 12 for Belle Vue and paid 8 for you lot in the Play Offs last season as well as 11 in the British Semi last week. There have been some lower scores in amongst that but he is by no means awful at Lynn.
  18. Cook isn't crap or poor, inconsistent perhaps but not that bad. His gating could be invaluable and I think he's the best option available.
  19. This is going to be very tough for Lynn and would have been anyway without the injury worries as Poole ride the AFA so well. Holder, Magic, North & Newman are all likely to make hay so even if the other three all struggle a home win looks a tall order. We have a chance if a good guest is chosen but a poor one or R/R and it's going to be very, very difficult indeed.
  20. Lambert had to be in considering his Lynn form this year but I'd personally have gone with Cook rather than King, he's better out of the gate and that is vital at the AFA these days.
  21. You can't really compare Lambert to those others. He is only seventeen and didn't ride in the qualifiers this year. I get your general point though, we are miles behind the others in international terms.
  22. Perhaps unlike you some people have the interests of the whole of British speedway at heart.
