  1. Fair point but I would suggest that many people expected more from Birks, Sissis and particularly Proctor. One could argue only Compton & Bates of those currently fit have met expectations so far. Stead can be covered when Cook is available but will be missed otherwise. Garrity should replace Bellego adequately and may even keep his place once the Frenchman is fit.
  2. Sheffield just not living up to their potential yet. Several riders underperforming.
  3. westhamboy66 has issues with Garrity because of his time at Rye House when in all liklihood the old fossil who runs the speedway there is the real problem.
  4. You should know by now that all bad luck only ever affects Edinburgh and other teams are just crap according to Blobby
  5. Rather churlish to slag off Garrity when he has just scored paid 13.
  6. I think we probably need to enjoy Robert while he is here.
  7. I doubt I will, but I'm able to look at things from a neutral perspective. And from the point of view of wanting Cook to develop into a world class rider.
  8. The asset system should be obsolete by now, speedway riders are self employed after all. It's not an easy conundrum to solve particularly but it seems silly to me that any rider striving to improve would miss higher level meetings to race in a second division. Many of these clashes could be avoided with better fixture planning anyway!
  9. Nobblytriers, just my opinion really. For me the better tracks tend to be those with shorter straights and longer bends, ie the more circular ones such as Peterborough, Somerset, Scunthorpe, Plymouth, Sheffield, Mildenhall (when prepared right). The advancement in speedway technology over the last 10-15 years IMO means that the bikes have got too fast for Lynn, after the first lap or so riders are too strung out with the long straights. Don't know if it would be possible, cost effective or would fit in with stock cars but I believe a change of shape with shorter straights and wider bends might improve the racing at Lynn and stop riders being so strung out. Three good races out of fifteen isn't value for £17 IMO, especially in chilly weather with a needless 20 minute interval after heat 11. As I say just my thoughts, I may well be in the minority with these views.
  10. I honestly don't think the surface or preparation has anything to do with it, Huggy used to prepare it very grippy and that's not the answer for me. I believe it's the shape that's the problem, riders get too strung out. I've also read the word 'overrated' numerous times on this thread and I can't agreee with that either, who rates Lynn as a good race track nowadays? Not many people I'd suggest, maybe 15 years ago but not now.
  11. Why oh why put Rory in 15, he always comes last. Should have been Lambert!
  12. The idea that riders owe us something because they started off here is absolute poppycock. It's a two way street anyway, I'm sure Scunthorpe, Rye House & Wolves have all benefitted enormously from having him in their teams over the years through bums on seats, sponsorship etc. As BW says British Speedway has failed to adapt to the needs of many of the top stars. That is the BSPA's perogative but we have no room to moan if some of those top riders decide not to ride over here, wherever they happened to learn their trade.
  13. There would be nothing wrong with Cook doubling up if he prioritised his EL matches. Missing testing meetings for Belle Vue so that he can breeze to effortless maximums for Edinburgh is daft and does nothing for his development.
  14. I'd suggest Lynn's Play Off place is very far from decided. Wolves so far showing how inaccurate predictions can be.
  15. I dread to think what the score might be, but Bees to win and one or two Lynn P45's to be handed out.
  16. Eh? Well done to BV but they didn't have much to beat to be fair. Lynn were shocking.
  17. Much better second half from a Lynn point of view but too little too late. Haven't looked like getting anything away from home so far this year and heads will have to roll if it continues.
  18. Embarrassingly inept. I'd sack the lot apart from Neils, Robert & Lewis. Just awful.
