  1. Actually that is a good point GRW123, I was referring more to the burger van and back straight eateries. Have had chips from Pit Stop and they were ok.
  2. Personally Trees I think that really shouldn't be an issue, 90-120 minutes is a reasonable amount of time to do a job voluntary or not without the need for a drink or the loo. If they can't wait for a pee then a quick dash in between races cab surely happen. If it's that cold then take a flask. The interval is purely to make money in the bars and food outlets and doesn't consider customers.
  3. I think the reason Puk tweeted at all was that it happened twice in nine days. Could well have been a one off occurrence at both venues and beyond both promoters control but for a professional sport it's a pretty poor show.
  4. The food at Lynn has always been pretty nasty unfortunately.
  5. Considering they were missing nearly half their side I should think Glasgow will be well satisfied with that, something of a moral victory.
  6. I'm not suggesting we sack him yet but we saw performances like this last year and we can't afford to go into any play off meetings carrying him like today. So the jury is out for now. Well done to Lawson on his max, good to see Brits dominating the two matches between the sides this week, team alliegences to one side of course
  7. The scorelines would say otherwise. Some of us got your tongue in cheekness by the way
  8. Yes, very much the exception to the rule though.
  9. Three heat winners away from home does not a title challenging team make. Very early days but one rider in particular stands out from that scorecard and needs to do much, much more. If he can't then he needs replacing before it's too late if the club are serious about winning things. That said the scoreline is probably par for the course as far as Lynn at Arena are concerned.
  10. I agree, unnecessary tinkering of what was a good scoring system. Speedway shoots itself in the foot yet again.
  11. Precisely, it's the rules which are a joke rather than how they are being utilised.
  12. Kevin Doolan has started the season strongly, used to ride for the Hammers and has never let the Stars down in the past so it could be a great decision. With two of the R/R rides having to be taken by the reserves I think it's worth going for the seven riders option to be honest.
  13. Absolutely, but Rory's average was achieved against heat leaders whereas Josh got his beating second strings and FTR's.
  14. Putting aside the whole PL/double up issue it seems crazy that a heat leader can guest for a second string with the change in format last season.
  15. Just caught up with a pile of Speedway Stars from weeks ago (get them second hand from my Father) and have to day well done to all involved with the Fans Trust, great idea. Good luck and hope it's a success.
  16. Hmmmm if you are going to arrange a challenge match on the busiest day of the season then don't moan when double uppers from the opposition are racing elsewhere in competitive fixtures.
  17. GRW123, how often do you visit other tracks? If you compare the standard of racing at Lynn over the last three seasons (2011 was very good) with the entertainment at P'boro, Scunny, Somerset, Plymouth, Wolves etc you will see that it's pretty poor at Lynn. Something isn't right.
  18. Hammers will be looking for revenge after last night. No Porsing or Kerr for Lynn, hopefully Steve Boxall has been tapped up already to fill in at reserve. R/R should be able to cover for Niklas. Weather forecast not good!
  19. Have said before that as well as having shale which is too grippy I think our straights are too long for today's machines, the better tracks over here tend to have more bend and less straight. No doubt the dirt used is the best for stocks so can't see it changing but would love to see Buster make the circuit shorter and wider.
  20. It's absolutely right that a competitive fixture has priority over a challenge match. It must have been known that these riders would be absent when the fixture was arranged. Have to agree though that's is an unfortunate reflection of the state of the sport at present.
  21. Your track gets flak when it has holes in it and is dangerous. You are right, Lynn is nowhere near what it was and not a patch on Peterborough but it is smooth and consistent more often than not. Tonight and last week when there was heavy rain around on both days probably aren't the best meetings to judge the track on, especially with such poor opposition tonight. I accept though that we haven't had a decent televised meeting from Lynn for a bloody long time. Forgot to say well done Robert Lambert, the boy has that in his locker when he strings a few starts together. Superb stuff.
  22. Can somebody please confirm whether the track was slick or grippy? And how much rain did the stadium have during the afternoon and evening? Nice start to the season. Genuinely thought Lakeside would be better than that, expect things to be different on Friday. Hope the two injured lads are ok, is Boxall available on Friday?
