  1. The big difference is that Ward could gate at 16 whereas Lambert can't. While that's a big factor for me it's the only difference between Lambert now and Darcy in 2009.....in terms of speed, track craft, racing brain etc I'd say there is very little in it.
  2. Scunny are a Jekyll and Hyde team and rarely seem comfortable on the tighter tracks.
  3. Great stuff. Hopefully he can find a team in Sweden too and really kick his career on.
  4. I don't understand why MDL teams use riders who have already ridden in the NL match beforehand, they rarely take all of their MDL rides through tiredness / machinery fatigue. Makes a mockery of the MDL match tbh
  5. All it says is that there are a lot of injuries at the moment? Apart from Pawlicki who was taking the Michael out of Wolves the other nine absent riders are not fit. That said you are right, there are far too many guests in the EL this year through riders competing elsewhere.
  6. I think it was bend four of lap one in heat 15.....4-2 to Ippo to secure the draw although we won 50-40 in the return that evening
  7. Would be nice to see a meeting on Sky from the SBA, seems to be one of the better racetracks around.
  8. That's part of speedway for me HT, makes away wins all the more sweet when they come along. Little things like grippy starts, the outside or inside of corners being ripped up etc will happen if the home riders want them to but won't necessarily detract from the entertainment. Wouldn't ever agree with a track being too slick, too grippy, full of ruts or inconsistent though.
  9. The suggestion on here was that the track prep might have been altered after the first half dozen or so heats after which Somerset were much better. All I'm saying is that its their perogative to do that as long as the track is still safe to ride.
  10. According to a thread in the EL section Worrall is going to rest up over the weekend so he is fit for Swindon's home match on Monday evening.
  11. I don't think anybody is calling it cheating, but preparing the track to their own rider's liking is a home team's perogative IMO. As long as the surface is smooth, consistent and safe if course.
  12. Could have gone much further in the sport but for several nasty injuries early in his career, looked quite a talent at 16 as a Star in the PL. Best wishes to him for the future.
  13. Easy, tiger! I'm not talking about the TR, I'm no great fan of that tbh, it's the match scoring system to which I refer. Nothing contrived or fiddled about awarding an away team for a good performance.
  14. The scoring system is by far the best idea British speedway has come up with in years, keeps many more meetings alive to the end. Got to stay IMO, and not at all complicated for a newcomer to grasp in my experience.
  15. Spot on. Most of this years problems have been caused by a toilet fixture list.
  16. If they don't finish in the top eight then the likes of Jonnson, Lindgren & Hampel shouldn't get picks IMO, would prefer to see some fresh faces....THJ & Berntzon if Swedes are required and there are a glut of young Poles. Bjerre should be in the same category if he doesn't get through the challenge. MJJ should be a shoe in, he's a class act.
  17. Agreed - Portwood will never be World Champion but is 500% better than a couple of years ago when I last saw him ride.
  18. Looks like Benji might get the call after all
  19. I think there's a good chance that Ford has got his chequebook out and offered Emil some meetings as Poole's insurance policy should Ward get banned.
