  1. Worrall but no Cook? Can't agree with that, or that you are judging Cook from a couple of rides on a ploughed field when he was a reserve.i Whoever is picked lets hope that the squad gets a practice session at Lynn some time before the meeting to give them the best chance.
  2. Zagar was unlucky IMO, he was in front and just using the racing line. Emil was also unfortunate, the margins are inches and split seconds and on another day he'd have squeezed through or not passed but stayed upright. One if those where, for me, nobody was really at fault and one where an 'all four back' rule which could be used at any point in a race would be useful. For that to work though you would need referees who will always make the tough decisions and not use any new rule as the easy option..........
  3. Great effort by Somerset, although when you have strong heat leaders you always have a chance of a point. Gutted for Lewis Rose, he was really starting to look the part for the Young Stars.
  4. I think that must have been the day I met you, statman and womble for the first time, 2008 possibly?
  5. Just caught up with some recent Speedway Stars and even though Middlo has picked the squad 'on form' he has selected Howarth rather than Richard Lawson. Dear me.
  6. They'd be silly to not use Bjerre at Lynn. I'd go with Nicki P, Puk, Bjerre and Kildemand.
  7. Hmmmm, this jackal character is either on a wind up or has lost the plot. Which do people think it is?
  8. Its already been said that he will ride in away matches which don't clash with his continental commitments. Therefore he will ride in some.
  9. Barker then.......you can't possibly rule Worrall out but Auty in.
  10. Somerset aren't the first track to be caught out by the weather and I'm sure they won't be the last. Very unfortunate of course for Worky fans who travelled but probably best to not make mountains out of molehills. The apology by the club draws a line under things IMO.
  11. From www.klstars.co.uk This coming Wednesday, the King's Lynn Young Stars are aiming to make it through to the next round of the National League Knockout cup competition when they face Stoke at the Norfolk Arena. King's Lynn suffered a 57-32 defeat to the Potters in the first leg, which gives the Young Stars a tough task to overturn the deficit and move on in the competition, but team manager Dale Allitt has revealed that the riders are determined to progress. Allitt said: "We have 25 points to make up but after the events at Stoke, the boys are fired up. Hopefully we can get a big crowd to cheer us on at the Norfolk Arena this Wednesday night, it makes a big difference when the supports turn out in force." The Young Stars side takes on a slightly changed lineup. Lewis Rose moves into the main body of the team having put in a number of impressive performances during recent meetings, while Shane Hazelden is the man to move down to reserve. Robert Lambert returns to the team having missed the first leg, his inclusion is a big boost for the Young Stars as they aim to make it into the next round. Gates open at the Norfolk Arena at 6:30pm. Admission prices: Adults: £10, Concessions: £8, Juniors (12-15 Years Old): £4, Kids under 11: £FREE King's Lynn Young Stars 1. Steve Worrall, 2. Shane Waldron, 3. Darren Mallett, 4. Lewis Rose, 5. Lewis Kerr, 6. Shane Hazelden, 7. Robert Lambert Stoke Potters 1. Lee Smart, 2. Luke Chessell, 3. Ben Reade, 4. Luke Priest, 5. Kyle Hughes, 6. TBC, 7. Shaun Tedham
  12. Auty has been around a fair old while now and still can't gate, for me he is as good as he'll ever be. Cook, rightly or wrongly, wasn't giving it full beans at Cardiff due to the track. IMO if course
  13. Two spots up for grabs for six riders IMO, as Howarth isn't yet at the required standard and Auty never will be. I'd probably go for Cook and King but you could make a case for any of those six.
  14. Assuming Nicholls sticks to his guns then Woffinden Harris Cook plus one from King, Barker and Worrall.
  15. Put Somerset in the EL and meetings at the OTA would be just as good. It's the track responsible for the racing rather than the league.
  16. Plenty of rolling tonight including the Rebels riders Starman so probably not a great idea to pick out individuals.
  17. Excellent meeting with a bit of everything, in particular some very good racing. Great ride by Cook in heat 15, he was the class act of the night for me so fitting that he sewed things up. Fricke looks an excellent prospect and I was also very impressed with Tabaka, great to watch.
  18. He made an awful start off gate one in heat 15 and then nearly came off entering lap two but it was still a stunning if expected debut. I was also very impressed with Lewis Rose who has improved ten fold since I last saw him, and how on earth has Charles Wright not got a PL place? He was excellent.
  19. Seems to me from reading his Facebook that the boy has agreed to ride in one or two meetings but in their eagerness to get bums on seats tomorrow night the club have buggered up the press release, peeing the Lamberts off in the process and probably jeopardising any future relationship between King's Lynn speedway and Robert Lambert. With the future of British Speedway as uncertain as it has ever been you can't blame Lambert for not rushing in and committing to one club, he has only just turned 15 and has time very much on his side. Not too concerned whether he ends up with the Stars in the future or not, just hope he rides in the right place to fulfill his potential and hopefully perform in the GP's one day like Woffinden is currently. I'm just happy to get the opportunity to see him racing competitively in the UK tomorrow night.
  20. I agree with the big fish bit, personally I think Cook is doing a year too many in the PL but to judge him on last night on such a gash track is harsh, there is no way he was giving it 100% and I don't blame him one bit for that.
  21. I thought Cook was taking it easy on a terrible track personally, riding with his head to stay in one piece. He's got bigger fish to fry this season.
