  1. These line ups are stronger than any PL side so charging PL makes it comparatively good value. If it wasn't for work etc I'd be coming down to see this.
  2. I don't understand why Screen is unhappy with the press release, it doesn't criticise any individuals or come across as unfair to me?
  3. Really enjoyed that meeting, well done to Berwick for putting on a good show and to Newcastle for their victory. Kennett should be getting a max with his eyes shut in that company. Good to see all the lads with King's Lynn connections doing well
  4. Cyclone, so as not to spread himself too thinly. Mr Blobby's post seems to support this
  5. You sure? Looked nailed on top four material to me from the word go.
  6. Exactly. Craig Cook is the best prospect we have, his improvement in the short time he has been riding has been dramatic and he could IMO be knocking on the GP door at some point and may even get his chance in the SWC this year. Next season he needs to be riding in Sweden, Poland, Denmark and wherever else he can against better riders on different tracks so he can improve even more. The likes of Barker, Stead, Kennett, Proctor and Doyle have all peaked IMO but Cook has not. I believe his time would be better spent riding in other leagues next season where he is going to be tested much more.
  7. This will surely be Cook's last season in the PL, can't see what good it does him to be scoring maximums or dropping just a point every Friday night at home. Needs to be riding abroad next year to further his education.
  8. So Tungate comfortably beats Josh G four times out of four at Lynn on Wednesday but can't beat him on his home PL track......seems he probably, like Ricky Wells, knows exactly which side his bread is buttered.
  9. Worrall added to Mallett and Kerr certainly gives the Young Stars some top end clout. Don't know an awful lot about Widman in all honesty but hopefully he and Rose can step up to the plate at reserve although of course its about development rather than winning every week IMO.
  10. Thanks Lorna, will do Agree about the prospects within the Young Stars, Lewi Kerr could and probably will go very far but for me he's probably the only one. To answer Mike I'd say people may have gone to the Foxhole on Monday as it was a glorious bank holiday and tonight sees the World Champion at the EoES. Its a fact of sporting life that people are more inclined to pay to watch better quality competitors even if the entertainment isn't that great, like at Carrow Road this season
  11. I don't think its a problem confined to Lynn, there are other tracks such as Poole, Newport and probably Coventry themselves this year who struggle to get decent attendances for their junior side while also running a senior team. Also worth pointing out that Ipswich on Monday and P'boro tonight give people other options within an hour or so to get their speedway fix this week. I'll be there for the IOW fixture and hopefully the prospect of seeing Adam Ellis and a potential league winning team will see a few more turn up too.
  12. The withdrawal of Cockle seems to have swung the meeting Storm's way and good luck to them. Lewis Rose really needs to learn to stay aboard his steed as he is quick enough when upright.
  13. Trouble is you're not going to get many people forking out twice in three days for speedway or choosing the Youngs Star's meeting over the senior team. Hopefully there will be a few more present tomorrow evening
  14. Great to hear the racing has improved, Ashfield is one of my favourite venues to watch speedway due to the proximity of the terracing to the track and its great to read that the action is good too. Very pleasing to see Lewi Kerr scoring well once again on an away track too.
  15. In fairness to Noddy I don't think it was that simple. Emil looked the quicker rider to me and on the second lap I commented that he should try cutting under Holder as the dirt looked like it might be a bit too wide to use by then, there had been a few other passes using the inside line on that bend in the preceding heats. I agree though that Holder was in no-mans-land a little but I think credit for that should probably go to Sayfutdinov, he wore Holder down over those three and a bit laps through sheer pressure and forced him into that mistake.
  16. I personally thought the final heat call was 50/50. Howe really should have stayed in the dirt and disappeared in the re-run though.
  17. Excellent GP. A shame that Tai missed the gate in the final but he rode superbly and looked world class tonight.
  18. Had the equally talented Ellis not emerged I expect Stefan would have been offered a spot. I think Perry and Reade are both crying out for the NL season to get going and will improve once they get some of those meetings under their belts.
  19. While undoubtably passionate for me Godfrey's comments are ill advised, the meeting was called off by a referee after all. And isn't Bob Ellis one of the best track men in the business? Worth considering also that weather can affect different tracks in different ways, the Foxhole is quite literally in a hole while Scunny is open to the elements and surely dries out much quicker, and is their drainage not the best around?
  20. Not at all suprised by Stefan's scoring, he's a very talented young fella.
  21. Plymouth kept that a lot closer than I thought, well done to them for their point. Seems harsh to consider dropping a young Brit but for me the Devils look one rider (ie a half decent number 7) away from being a good side.
  22. Plus why would you want the track prepared 'as the Scunthorpe riders like' when as it was it produced what many consider an excellent meeting?
  23. Have to say also that I completely take on board the point that HT makes, the tactical enhanced the excitement of the meeting and that can't be denied. I guess its a balance between excitement and fairness. For me if a home team go ten points down then tough luck.
  24. I'm not a fan of the tactical rule being permitted for the home team, doesn't seem right that an away side can score 46 legitimate points and still lose. And that's nothing against Sheffield, I'd say exactly the same if it was Lynn in their shoes.
