I'm not sure being called Victor Meldrew or a 'clown' is particularly abusive, in fact the worst word on the entire thread is 'crap', and you used that yourself. Would be nice if you could acually have a discussion rather than slagging something off (as you normally do) and then disappearing when people disagree. Other than the delays which to be honest I didn't really notice as I was chatting to lots of people I hadn't seen for months, why did you think it was 'crap'? There was passing and close racing from the first heat to the last on a good surface between a well matched field and it raised money for a good cause. As somebody has said perhaps speedway is no longer for you.

Bike problems all night unfortunately.

They could probably bring that date forward by two or three months to be fair

It's one of those days unfortunately, the Met Office forecast seems to be changing hourly and at the moment its essentially showers that may or may not appear and could either blow through quickly on the strong wind or like yesterday last five minutes and saturate everywhere in the blink of an eye, we even had some hail here yesterday which momentarily made my grass white! It's Pot Luck, I hope PE34 gets lucky today.

If Lidsey rides in a warm up meeting in Poland rather than a league meeting in the UK on one of our race nights we might as well all give up and go home. -
Yeah I didn't structure my post particularly well, my point assumes that the track will be fine before any rain on Saturday when there's a good chance the rain this week means it won't be. Obviously if the track is under water on Friday then an early call might be needed. But you can't call it off before Saturday's showers if the track is ok IMO.
-
The (usually reliable) forecast I've seen is no more than a 40% chance of showers all day Saturday, if that remains the case it can't be called off in advance, its a bit different if that changes though of course. In the mean time the amounts if rain we have between now and then are quite important.

Wet from 00:00 until 08:00 and then dry thereafter with a a stiff breeze on mine! (Met Office app) Take your pick

Also sounds like the stock cars made a mess on Saturday night

What forecast is that? The Met Office is the most reliable one and its filthy on there from 6pm onwards. As others have said if you shell out money when the weather is unsettled thats the risk you take unfortunately. -
Absolutely, the rain has hung around for an extra four hours this morning and there is more to come tonight, looking at the forecast for the rest of the week they may even have their work cut out to get it sorted for Saturday.

Was a bit puzzled by the cancelling of Tuesday after a nice day today and another dry one tomorrow but then I remembered the BEN Fund on Saturday, to be fair we've had a fair bit of rain in the last couple of weeks after a dry winter (of course ) and the priority has to be to make sure the track is ok for the weekend.

The customer is always right....its a bad businessperson who points the finger of blame at their punters however irritating some of them might be. -
Who are the 'usual knowalls' out of interest? The fact that most people think you'll finish bottom should be viewed as a positive, it takes all the pressure off and means there is only one way to go. People can only judge and speculate on what they see on paper, its what a forum is for. You shouldn't take it personally if folk think thete are eight better teams, they are only opinions after all.

Somebody has said the 'Lambert Loophole' has been closed, is that the case?
-
Bit boring not to discuss it further though on a discussion forum? I'd disagree with BarrowBoy, for example Oxford have far too long a tail to be finishing anywhere near third if in the Play Offs at all, and Redcar have strength all the way through so they will be top two or three IMO. Glasgow top as long as Ace Pjiper is OK.
