Predictions for Prem 2023 as teams stand ...
Bagpuss replied to Pauldoveyspeedway's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
And it changed from six to seven man teams that winter. Also the World Champion saw the light and came to the nice part of East Anglia -
I think Pedersen and Worrall are the preferable option compared to Holder & Tungate personally.
-
Can see both sides of this but I'm not sure dividing season ticket holders and casual supporters (who might go every week anyway) is the best idea really.
-
Agree with that, Plymouth's reserves too inexperienced for top spot IMO but they look stone wall top five along with Poole, Glasgow, Scunny & Redcar. Oxford & Edinburgh to scrap it out for 6th with Berwick & Brum adrift. IMHO

FFS, nobody cares about assets.

Yep Gary Allan or Mark Thorpe. Both very accomplished on their day. Be interesting to see how this fella gets on.

2023 Season Riders Without Clubs.
Bagpuss replied to rearingtogo's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I'd have thought the only way to do it comprehensively initially is to include all riders who were in a 1-7 at some point in 2022 and then remove them from that starting point. -
OK, well agree to disagree otherwise we'll go round in circles that my sanity can't cope with. But hopefully going forward season ending injuries will continue to be allowed new signings to cover them.
-
Yes but there are five other teams too. Also I'd fancy any combination of our top six against King/Riss & Rew.
-
I'm hoping for free samples

Fortunately sport is rarely that black and white. Although perhaps it might be against Ipswich.

There is NOTHING worse in speedway than borrowing a rider from another team in the same league, other than injuries of course.

Sheffield Ipswich Belle Vue Peterborough Wolves King's Lynn Leicester -
I don't hink it matters who is number one, the team has been built to try and emulate P'boro 2021 with an ultra solid 1-6 and everybody chipping in. They don't 'need' anyone to do anything other than average 7 ish. Yet was at number one for the winning play off team just eighteen months ago before having 2022 wrecked by injury. As said above everyone in Lynn's team needs to contribute as the top end strength of others just isn't there.
-
If it's Pedersen as mooted they look better than Lynn, Wolves and Leicester to me. And Mr Tomalin has money to make changes later on in the season. Ipswich BV and Sheff shoe ins for the Play Offs, the other three scrapping for fourth.

My thoughts exactly. And they are pretty scary, unpleasant thoughts
