'Assets' go where they like anyway, means very little in that context.

I wouldn't call you selfish, but probably unrealistic and almost impossible to please

With the loss of Long Eaton.........
Bagpuss replied to Ray Stadia's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Long Eaton was a fantastic track, was lucky enough to get taken there once in the 1980's. -
Also possible that I could be wrong but in my head the main reason he packed it in was that night. Can't say I blame him in all honesty.
-
I thought it was Rob Lyon and he jacked it in at the end of that season? Allitt was there as a co promoter.
-
The SCB/BSPL are ultimately petrified of this Nora thing developing into a full blown breakaway IMO. Which might end up being the best thing that's ever happened to British Speedway, we might even end up with some competent governance.

I really don't think it is as the vast majority of Aussie speedway riders have and do ride here in a professional manner, the ones who don't are those who have been called out on this thread. If Ben Cook works hard and behaves he'll be fine I'm sure.
-
I don't think anyone would try and arge that Buster isn't difficult or doesn't have his faults but as Aries says hundreds of riders have ridden for him without any issues and only two riders acted like brats in that night in July 2017. As I've said before despite the situation looking bad I think P'boro have had a lucky escape.
-
They've done it again to Plymouth this winter too allegedly.
-
I don't think that was ever in any doubt. There'll certainly be plenty of ego room in them
-
Maybe. I think that particular rule was unclear and when challenged by a third party it was proven so as it went against the BSPL's wishes. They really aren't for for purpose unfortunately. Thete has been lots of bleating from some Sheffield fans but I really don't think they have a leg to stand on.
-
Out of interest is it Pedersen instead of Holder or were they both on at one stage? And if so that presumably would have meant a long ish tail?
-
Who if you believe what you read and hear is the worst Aussie of the lot!
-
Pretty straightforward to me......Fricke had a season ending injury, the rulebook wasn't clear (surprise surprise) on whether BV could replace him. They and the BSPL disagreed so a lawyer sorted it out and permitted BV to sign a replacement with a lower average. Who was only required because Fricke got injured in the first place. Far more satisfactory than guests or R/R which are two of the worst things about British Speedway.

Yep, rode for Lynn in 2011 with no problems at all.
-
It wasn't so much the refusal but the way Holder and Batchelor went about it and held the fans who paid their wages in complete and utter contempt. All parties conducted themselves poorly that night. That I would agree with.

Doolan Kozza Rusty Harrison Masters Glenn Doyle Shane Parker Crump Adams Travis McGowan Boyce Generally any who don't think they are Bertie Big Balls. Even Darcy had a season without falling out with him. Wouldn't for a second pretend that Buster is easy to work with or for (and if you p!ss him off you're toast) but Ben Cook would be advised to get his head down and do his job I'd have thought. He can learn a hell of a lot from Iversen, Pedersen & Andersen if he does.
-
Indeed, he last rode for Lynn six years ago. He'd be an excellent signing on that average and would be very, very good at the EoES.
-
Great news for British speedway if true. Not so much for the rest of the Premiership......
-
If he didn't pick up easy money in the Champs I don't think people would label him an improper number one. He finished fifth in the averages last year, be interesting to see where he ends up this year with one or two big names returning.
-
There's half a point between them so not really like for like.
-
He can probably consider himself a little unfortunate, in terms of his average he's in a similar bracket to Jorgensen, MPT and Pickering and personally I'd have been happy to see him back either in a slightly different team structure or in place of Jorgensen. Other than a few frustrating performances I thought he was decent last year. He probably is bang average in that he averages between six and seven but you know what you are getting. The issue will be Andersen if he ends up in the side.

There must be some way of making sure that Kemp, Rowe and Thompson have Championship spots if they want them before handing out work permits for similar standard non Brits.
