Moving Rye from Sat to Thurs was understandably disastrous but I've never got my head round why Poole moving their race night back 24 hours is such a big deal. Very odd.
-
Unless you are planning to move up here it doesn't affect you!
-
Which of course you aren't forced to read.
-
It's been a pretty simple equation for years now, prepare it slicker and the racing can be very good like the League Cup meetings last April and the Leicester v Poole match right at the end of the season. In the summer its loaded with clay and moisture resulting in terrible racing however its graded. Can't see anything changing though unfortunately!
-
Was going to say something similar, odd choice of venues.
-
Well I think it was as there was nearly two months between Glasgows last home league meeting and their home semi final v Poole but looking at their scores one could argue that Basso and Brennan were starting to burn out in October.
-
But if you consider it a bottom end of three by putting Worrall and Rew in the equation then I think P'boro have the edge. The two engine rooms are similar with Basso's potential probably giving P'boro the edge again, however Doyle and Emil blow Puk and Noddy away every day of the week. Both get marmalised by Lynn regardless

I've not been for years but I'll definitely go this year if the track is sorted. Few better places for a speedway fan on a nice Sunday afternoon.
-
Always amazes me when clubs say they may not be able to afford to run next year and then a few weeks later are building a potentially title winning side great that they are coming to the tapes though of course. Also not their fault but Congreve's average is farcical!
-
So we've got at least three Panthers fans who claim to be in the know and they all disagree entertaining stuff!
-
Oxford look mid table to me, their heat leaders alone should get them into the Play Offs.
-
Get what you are saying but you could say the same about 3 or 4 riders in every side. Vissing is a stonewall improver, Nowak might struggle on the two tightest circuits but should be fine elsewhere with the correct machinery. Can understand the doubts about Complin but think he'll be a very different rider to 2022.
-
Yep, as much as I'd like to see them have a good season for a change they look weak to me.
-
I wouldn't say Ruml had a bad 2022, depends on expectations I guess. It's a pity about Ablitt but lots of other youngsters have spots and I'm sure he'll get one at some point too.
-
Not sure it was a ringer, Lambert was on an earned average replacing an injured rider. The doubt is whether the change should have been allowed at that stage but for the sake of the final as a spectacle I'm glad it was.

Predictions for Prem 2023 as teams stand ...
Bagpuss replied to Pauldoveyspeedway's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Because they think Wolves have the worst team I would guess. -
Wow, he's got you rattled for a start I dont know the bloke or too much about him but he's obviously trying to get the fanbase engaged and heighten the anticipation and excitement for the new campaign after a poor seadon last year. Hes essentially promoting his new club, can't see too much wrong with that. He's essentially got folk talking about Peterborough Panthers and that can't be a bad thing.

Predictions for Prem 2023 as teams stand ...
Bagpuss replied to Pauldoveyspeedway's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think that's what we tried last year but there were too many inconsistencies. For the P'boro formula to work the top six all have to average seven ish and be rock solid every single week. Fingers crossed. -
I expect he's signed for a Danish side because he's only getting half the Championship fixtures that was mooted.

You really don't get this forum do you

They did it many years ago in the EL too, possibly Benji Compton as the make weight number seven?
-
'Splashing the cash' isn't the same as 'paying more than most'. I'd have thought moving down would allow you to continue paying more than most as well as maintaining your race night. And I think people probably say that Poole pay more than most because that's the case it stands to reason as one of the best supported and sponsored clubs in the UK. The notion that Poole are one of the only ones to pay on time is a poor argument too (not your suggestion on thos thread I know). Most do and I'm sure that includes Plymouth.
-
This kind of thing has always gone on and always will do, gentleman's agreements will get broken when self employed tradesmen get offered a slightly better deal by somebody else. Rankles when it's your own team but it's part of speedway. Everyone knows Poole can offer more than most, seems to offend the south coast mafia on here though which is slightly odd. Nothing to be ashamed of.
