Is Speedway Too Expensive Now ?
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
i think the way forward engine wise is to get GM/JRM or some other manufacturer to make a kit that comprises of a piston , conrod ,set of valves and springs and big end pin , these are the bits which break , get them to make them for long last reliability rather than speed meaning a bit more metal on them and a bit heavier, they are passed by the SCB as being all the same , once suplied they can not be machined or drilled or played with in anyway and must be used as they come like the silencer is , this way the riders all have standard engines as such , the riders can still use different cams and flywheels and compression ratios , the tuners can only change bearings rings and timing ,with the parts being a bit heavier and bulkier you will also cut the revs down a bit , not a great deal but some at least therefore helping reliability , all this depends on the manufactures making a kit that is a resonable price ,say £300-£400 per kit , all riders will be changing rods and pistons anyway so its not an extra expence and the kits will fit into the GM/JRM cases they have now , the SCB/BSPA should be onto these manufacturers now to see if it can be achieved ,as i see it if this was brought in all engines would be nearly the same(standard) but a lot cheaper more reliable so the riders pay less out , returning to 2 valve or uprights or using a new honda or other engine would cost the riders a fortune to change their engines ,this achieves the same result but with a reduced outlay on what they would be paying for next seasons parts -
Nicki Or Chris?
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to June01's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
i know he is controversial sometimes but just for the entertainment nicki p provides in the gp i want him to win -
jason is an ultra proffessional legend of the sport , he was always there at the SRA meetings and has great knowledge and care for the sport , he is a credit to the GP,s ,he has nothing left to prove and will be missed in future GP,s, hope we see him in british league racing again before he quits speedway altogether

Dudley Heathens To Go Premier League?
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to 25yearfan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
will the current crowd still be there if the admission rises £5 to £15, at the moment £10 is good value and but is £15 value for premier ?or even for elite ? -
we have tony atkin as guest , R/R for branflake and michael neale for luke ,but we will give it our all as usual
-
i dont think anybody really knows , i think it must be something to do with algebra or fractions or maybe russell grant knows in his stars or in the book of rocket science explained i think there is a section in which it explain's how you make such a simple sport into a complete and utter balls up
-
and the loomer road track was well prepared tonight
-
i believe ben reade is having a ride tonight so will most likely be back and luke is not riding for buxton cause he chopped end off his finger, we already got r/r for branflake so its a 3 pointer
-
i think he was british but was married to a russian women, he lived/lives in wolverhampton?, he got a grant to ride speedway from the government and i think he still rides in the southern track amateur meeting, thats all i know about him

British Grand Prix 2012
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to willstaxi's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
thought the racing was good on a smooth track, pre meeting entertainment was on par with the usual garbage ,when will people learn that xfactor and bgt dont provide any entertainment for anybody over 14 with a brain, ticket prices were good for the event that it is ,programmes were a bit steep at £10 but the ear piece you got free with them was a good idea and enjoyed listening to the jan and darren fletcher, crowd looked the same as every other year to me but didnt seem as many poles ,speeedway was a good winner and proved why its the most exciting sport on the planet but how long before it shoots itself in the foot again -
R/R rule, A pool of riders is made up from riders from amateur meetings STR etc,When both teams are using r/r both teams ure a rider from the pool
-
before any rule is passed at an agm, all involved should state how many more people that rule will bring to meetings,if its none as most of the current crop of rules dont then it dosent get passed
-
exactly the point but in the eyes of current speedway thinking, you the fans dont matter and until you do its a downward spiral, this is not limited to Nl but allleagues
-
Tee total mate , but even on my days off I worry where the sport is going
-
Ok we shouldn't use it either , but this is the point speedway is just about how to exploit all within the rules cause the rules are so slack and useless hence a premier league rider is riding at reserve in the NL because the rules don't work and untill they do work how do you expect the sport to move forward
-
What a great idea , cause if I was a fan that's just what I pay to see My reply was to frostylion
-
This is a dig at the sport malcom not stoke personally , I just used the stoke example, it makes the sport look stupid , you can bring 7 gp riders tomorrow if you wish, r/r should not happen in the national league, it's the NL that is short sighted and untill it starts to show some forward thinking it will always remain a bad smell to the bspa But then again if the cap fits , lol
-
stoke sack a rider ,sign a rider then dont declare him in to the 1-7 and use r/r and they wonder why speedway is seen as a joke
-
i think the grading system that we used before was flawed because of the way riders were graded , if i remember right we had a rider at sittingbourne who was graded a 10 point rider even though he had never rode in a meeting before and some 8 point riders were graded at 5 and its that bunny brained type of thinking that made the grading system fail in the NL , had they just graded a rider on his average it might of worked abit better but then again when it comes to rules in the NL good ideas never get past the door

World Cup Final 14th July
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
speedway is littered with bunny brained ideas that were brought in without any real thought about the credibility of the sport and tonight was a perfect example of one of them but well done to the danes for 18 heats of entertaining speedway
