  1. You really must pay a visit to Brandon as it is entirely different now. Great music and tunes for all the riders. Disco after the meeting in the downstairs bar. It has improved 100% this season. Stand near a loudspeaker and you can clear your ears and sinuses out for the next 12 months.
  2. That's the route I've got from the A.A. if I ever get there.
  3. Oh god! Don't say they will be firing bloody great cannons? We usually end up at the Castle to give Jemma a run on the grass.
  4. That's sad. I hope you've knocked them off your Christmas card list. Hope to see you on your visit to Coventry.
  5. Just to clear this up for a thick person like me who is trying to work out all the different permitations..... will I be able to get off the M5 at junction 8 and go on the M50 for 22 miles until it reaches the A449? Only my navigator is not very reliable sometimes so I want to be clear before I set off.
  6. Mmmmm....Pawprint will hold you to that. Should be a very interesting conversation. Could you practise barking "Happy Birthday" because she will be 8 on Saturday.
  7. You know me so well. My immediate thought when I saw Joanne's post was to wonder what the hell she meant. However, I decided against enquiring because I thought any word with "pee" in it I'd be best to steer clear of. I've jumped to my own conclusions thank you and they are probably much more interesting than the true version.
  8. Never mind your credits, we need him on Sunday at Swindon.
  9. I'm getting worried now. I normally book the same hotel room for the next year when leaving after the G.P. I hope they don't suddenly change from the 2nd week in June to another date.
  10. Will John Boulger be over here for the September one?
  11. I don't think the Grim Reaper is going this year which is a shame. I don't think his friend Liontamer is going either, which is an even bigger shame.
  12. I've got four you could have but they are action photos and unfortunately only in black/white. Wembley World Final 1981 & U.S.A World Final 1982. If you are interested I will send them.
  13. So it is okay to move around then. I never thought of that - I'm not too keen on heights either. Perhaps I might be staying put in the middle tier afterall.
  14. And mine. Had the email yesterday and they have arrived today. That was quick. Thank you Post Office. We are in section N4, row 3. Anyone else on here around that area? Also does anyone know if it is okay to move after the G.P. has started and there are loads of empty seats in the top tier?
  15. Have had an email today that my tickets are on their way so will have to wait and see now how long they take to be delivered. Not very quickly from what others have said.
  16. Yes very flattering. Can just see the tops of our heads at the front.
  17. Thanks for that. I have just done what you said and it says the tickets are in stock and will be despatched shortly. Guess I have to wait a bit longer then.
  18. Don't want to worry you but a lot of fans don't seem too keen on the bottom tier, but I suppose some must like it or the place would be empty. SCB wrote this in January..... "Can I suggest not sitting on the bottom tier, you're under cover (from the 2nd tier) and IMO it takes away a lot of the atmosphere. It's the only place I have any complaints about inside the stadium."
  19. I ordered ours last August and they haven't arrived yet, but they did say when ordering that the tickets wouldn't be delivered until ten days before the event so I'm not too worried.......yet.
  20. So just when I thought I would be seeing you at Slater Street on the 15th with your flag you are clearing off with someone else to another country.
  21. Was he the one who was dead droll and used to also make comments about people in the crowd? I think this would be about the time we used to drag the children round different speedway tracks when they were too young to protest. If so - yes - I thought he was very good as I have always remembered him, but wasn't sure of his name. David Hammond never seems to get a mention when there are topics about announcers, but I reckon he is pretty good at Coventry and Oxford.
  22. Does that mean you have changed your mind now Shazzy and will be going to Cardiff not Sittingbourne? You know it makes sense.
  23. Welcome to the forum Lionheart, particularly as I might just have lost the title of being the oldest person on here. I started going to Blackbird Road in 1949, but I can't remember seeing Phil Bishop ride. We're not talking pre-war are we at the Leicester Super? Even I don't go back that far.
  24. Keep fishing Steve. No one has contradicted you yet.
  25. Do you mean to say you aren't going upstairs yet and standing there wondering what you went up for? Don't worry it will come. It's all downhill from 50. To keep on topic I can't wait for Alan Jones new book to come out in June, covering Leicester Speedway - The Lions era. It will be interesting to see just how many of the matches against Coventry that Leicester won.
