Berwick Vs Workington Sat 19 April
comet49 replied to YAMYAMBANDIT's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just got back from Berwick, good second half to the meeting and Jensen looks a good acquistion for Berwick. Nothing to do with Howarth leading a Comets 4-2 at the time but how can a referee wait 'til one lap has been completed and put the lights on for an unsatisfactory start? It would have looked strange if a rider had come off on bends 3 & 4 and an unsat start had been called with all 4 back. Also by letting riders race on full pelt he's putting them at risk of crashing and being injured. Hope both Mason and Bellago are ok for tomorrow. -

You could be describing James Wight there Tsunami in his first time at Workington. Would be good to see him back at his best too. -

James Wright - Making A Comeback?
comet49 replied to skoobie's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think Simon Stead may not be riding. I'd read that Nermark was replacing him though some said last night that Wright is -
We've both voted.

I've been wondering myself how he is. Early last season it was said that he hoped to be back riding this season but haven't heard anything since. Hope he does make a good recovery, he'd been unlucky with injuries before that crash too.

Promoters come from all walks of life, eg ex riders and aren't experts in legal matters, I'm sure the BSPA could afford to use an immigration specialists skills for a couple of months or so to make sure everything was in order or to advise whether a visa was likely or not. Disappointing for riders and fans too when when they're turned down at this late stage.
-
Don't think they can use R/R as Kozza won't have actually rode for them.
-
I'm sure that Mason Campton moving from Glasgow to Workington was part of the the problem he had last year. I think the BSPa should have an expert to deal with all the applications instead of clubs having to do it themselves, Kozza's good to watch, shame he's not going to be here.

Would have liked Tero to have got a team place but doubtful now.

Good, cheers.

You know what they say about sarcasm I presume. If not, lowest form of wit. Few weeks to go anyway.

How's the Somerset track in all the floods?
-
Can only see Joe as being a good appointment, the supporters have got a lift and the young riders will surely respect his advice, it's not as if he hasn't been there and done it himself. If they won't take Joe's advice then they probably wouldn't listen to anybody. Glad Sheffield survived.

Yeh, agree about keeping injury free. The performance of guests too and there's always riders who for whatever reason don't perform as expected once the season starts, thought Vissing for example would have done better for Edinburgh last year.
-
Rene Bach named as our captain, good choice.
-
There's only a reduction after missing one full season if it's due to injury.

According to Mirror Screeny is your new team manager.
