  1. Well regarded youngster who will benefit from the experience of those around him. Be very interesting to follow his progression as he combines his Poole work with NL racing for the Colts.
  2. I went to the press conference and don’t remember any rider saying that they wanted to return - because they weren’t asked directly. When the presenter said to the fans something like ‘Wouldn’t it be great to have them back?’ there was, naturally, a very positive ‘yes’ from the floor and the interviews were understandably steered away from putting the riders on the spot.
  3. Agreed, but away form is patchy and that could be a problem. Does give the Gladiators an extra 0.5 ish to rearrange the middle order slightly.
  4. Thanks. Congratulations to all the winners especially the IOW who have proved yet again that they really do know what they are doing.
  5. It will be golden heats. Nominated riders. First team to record a heat advantage wins so, for example, a 4-2 to either team in heat 16/31 would be enough to take the title. If heat 16/31 was a 3-3 then on to heat 17/32 with different nominated riders looking for a heat advantage to win the meeting.
  6. Bournemouth Echo confirming Jack Thomas at Glasgow and , as expected, Zach Cook at Poole.
  7. Doubt it, clash of race night, but as one Roo boy leaves perhaps another’s coming in.
  8. Is he no longer involved with the PACE project that was going to use the Coliseum for some of its activities?
  9. Preview on Speedway GB site shows RR for Hans.
  10. Thought the SON was a two day event, both Saturday and Sunday.
  11. Speaking of Stefan, does anyone down Poole way know how much his collection raised.
  12. Thought I read somewhere that Basso has a meeting in Denmark next Wednesday. Junior Championship or similar.
  13. So Dan Thompson was ill yesterday and unable to ride in the Glasgow v Leicester fixture. Presumably a non-speedway occurrence. Is there a rule covering this type of absence and what are the implications for the Lions going forward given that their schedule looks hectic over the coming week?
  14. Expecting James Shanes to miss this one now he’s picked up a wrist fracture at last weekends grass track.
  15. I’m going for Kasper Anderson for Scunny and Dan Gilkes for Poole.
  16. So with Middlo away playing golf in Tenerife, Havvy takes charge of the Pirates for this one. Advantage Gladiators.
  17. My mate went and said it was well supported with lots of families attending. He said the presentation was very good, refreshments great and minimal delays and he got about 25 heats for £12. He also saw ex Glasgow promoter Gordon Pairman taking a close interest in what was going on. Well done Isle of White by all accounts.
  18. Might be wrong but I thought Ben Cook would have a ‘proper’ average calculated and declared in time for this meeting, probably moving him out of reserve and into the top five. That may alter Skidder’s thinking on Basso’s cover.
  19. Mmmmm........strange. I clearly remember reading that Brennan had been booked for Kent and Poole on consecutive nights this week. Wonder if the Eastbourne shenanigans or Newcastle’s budget have prompted a change of plan.
  20. Last I heard it was only 1 guest. Tom Brennan for Stormy Wethers.
  21. Any club / team manager worth their salt will have been recalculating the average match by match and will already know of any potential changes.
