Polish Fixtures - Saturday 28 July 2019
Dickie Head replied to Dickie Head's topic in International World of Speedway
Sorry. I’m interested in Saturday 27th. -
How true is it that the BSPA committee are currently refusing to ratify our proposed line up? Honest question arising from pit comments at Undera yesterday. Perhaps Neil Watson could comment please.
-
My understanding is that the idea of a live draw was put forward at the NL AGM by Barry Bishop following the success of similar live draws for his club events. Unfortunately the actual draw came across as rather hap-hazard, however a step forward with plenty of learnings for next time.
-
Not an option if your still planning on Saturday’s as it would clash with his rides for Eastbourne.
-
Is it true the council have blocked the switch to Saturday night?
-
Will Brennan, Wood and Bowtell also race in the NL?
-
That looks good and would please the Warrior faithful.

So far the Warriors have got everything right with the exception of the team but now have an opportunity to get that sorted as well. Like others, I think Verge, Bursill and Wirzfeld are certs. Regrettably Campos, Widman and Tedham are stale and should be set aside. Which opens the door to a link with Eastbourne who could use the Island as an academy for their promising youngsters. If Taylor Hampshire could also be accommodated then that would be an entertaining and potentially successful side.

So if the NL points limit is set at say 34, I can’t see The Brummies retaining enough supporter interest so maybe a step up to the Championship is the right move.

Australia vs Rest of the World
Dickie Head replied to Bavarian's topic in International World of Speedway
Apparently the track at Gillman was bad last weekend with Justin Sedgmen refusing to ride and exerting influence on the Brits to follow suit. -
The early bird offer means standard adult admission is equivalent to £16.00 for at least 15 meetings. Some will think that is still too high. I’m undecided.

Looks like the Warriors are asking for feedback. This from their twitter feed: It’s your turn to feedback to us on how you think we did and what we can improve on for 2019. It’s on our FB page so over to you. https://m.facebook.com/groups/294612857236337/permalink/2167284013302536/ I’m sure Barry and his team will value and act on any reasonable comments made.

So according to the club website, the sponsorship with Volvo Cars Poole is at an end and a vacancy for a new main sponsor in 2019 exists.
-
I’m sure I read it was at the Celtic Manor near Newport in Wales.
-
Told it will be RR for Ethan.
-
Am I right in thinking that Howarth was not given a RR outing for Summers? I know he was off colour but if he had taken one it would have freed up one of the reserves for heat 13. I’m also wondering whether Lawson should have been given gate 1 in heat 15. Big ask for him to make an impact from 3. Any thoughts?

If I were Poole I would be cautious. Garry May is a shrewd guy. Remember he’s done a number on Poole twice already. Both legal but well thought out. Once with the Vissing absence then on August Bank Holiday when he improved his reserves. New averages will also be in force for the second leg so plenty of twists in this one for us to mull over.

Bit late I know but wanted to say well done Eagles especially Georgie. Getting a max tonight after last week’s smash was terrific. Kent looked jaded after Manchester last night and will have better nights. And by the way who did the announcing tonight. It was clear and precise and very professional. Is this guy permanent. Hope so.

Read somewhere that when the testers were at the Isle of Wight a couple of weeks ago, they tested four riders two hours before the start and the test was for drugs and alcohol.
