It was a mixed bag for some reason, some meetings it didn’t work at all and then the next it was working like a treat.
-
And more examples. These aren’t mugs he’s passing either they’re top heatleaders. He may never get back to that and could be on a permanent decline who knows, it would be a gamble for sure.
-
What on earth has happened to this lad? Was a 6 and a half pointer in a pretty strong league as recent as 2019! Shocking to see him fall away as much as he has. No idea what happened during that Covid break but he came back a totally different rider. I appreciate having him back is a big gamble, but he potentially offers far more than Hume, Starke or Mountain IF someone can get hold of him and shake him out of his slumber. He had a highlight reel all of his own a few seasons ago and was box office entertainment around Foxhall. Sad to see.
-
Aye forgot about him! Seems to be very injury prone in recent seasons though and his machinery is unreliable. Not sure.
-
Don’t get me wrong he’d be nowhere near any list of mine if you were only starting the team building, just looking through the option available on 4.27 and it’s only him, Hume and Mountain available. I’m with Baldyman I’d prefer we sought out another Rew and took a chance on another new 4 pointer, but if the choice is Mountain Hume or Heeps I’d reluctantly go for Heeps.
-
If we did manage to pull off the Emil signing or another 8 pointer, we’d have 4.27 left. Would anyone take Heeps back on 4.18? Unless we could find another 4 pointer from abroad with good potential, I think I’d gamble on Heeps rather than Mountain or Hume personally. He would also keep Rew at reserve whilst the other two would push Rew in to the 1-5..

Think he will personally. Can’t see him improving it, but he’s another one of those engine room riders that are in the “does a job” category. He’ll finish on a similar average to which he starts. -
Or Paul Starke, or possibly another new 4 pointer as Baldy says. A fair few options.
-
Louis is confident he’ll be fit for the start of the season according to this weeks speedway star and they’re pressing ahead with his visa. He apparently walked out of the hospital himself but needs some rest and recovery time.
-
Running out of time if it’s done before Christmas. To be honest I’d rather he took his time now and explored all avenues. All the others have their team sorted except Peterborough who apparently have most of theirs signed up as well, so there’s little competition for riders. Could more than likely sign two of Worrall, Cook Andersen or Batch and be done with it so much rather he carried on making calls and see what develops.
-
Not as bad as first feared and suffered “only” minor fractures. Been told to take 2 months rest so should be fit in plenty of time for tapes up.

Nothing again this morning so I think it’s safe to say we’re either working on a complicated deal or we’ve run in to issues and plan A is out the window and we’re searching for a plan B..

Think the bottom line is most of the top riders see the UK as an inconvenience and would only ride here if someone offered daft money by our standards. Doyle has been happy and settled here for years. I’d wager though that although he’s no doubt on a good deal, if the same deal was offered to the other GP riders very few if any would be tempted. -
You’re right looks to have a fabulous style. Can see him potentially being very popular.

If it was both of Worrall and Batchelor it would be done already. Both seemingly straightforward deals to do. If riders aren’t yet signed because paperwork hasn’t been completed but they’re “hoping to get it sorted before Christmas” which is still 9 days away, suggests to me at least one is more complicated and hints at a rider abroad. Could be wrong obviously, but that’s the way it sounds to me.

Nobody should ever say with confidence that so and so has signed. Flappy could absolutely end up correct no question, but it’s foolish to be so confident. It’s a fluid situation and as I’ve said many times, things change on an hourly basis. I’ve also been told things by a very reliable source and in good faith, but until they’ve signed on the dotted line and announced officially by clubs then things can always change because there’s so many moving parts to these deals. PhilTheAce no doubt also has good info, but he was sure that Kerr wasn’t returning to Sheffield but instead going to Leicester. But Kerr has indeed ended up back at Sheffield. That doesn’t mean he gets duff info, at the time Kerr more than likely was in at Leicester but again, things twist and turn behind the scenes all the time. -
Aye he could well have done yesterday. Today? Who knows..

Now you’re asking too much here Taps! They’ve altered the “transfer window” that’s enough for this year surely..
-
Thank you. Notice they’ve simplified the transfers thing with no “opening and closing” window. Not surprised after this year’s shenanigans. No transfers after July 31st is much more simple and easy for everyone to understand. Almost certain our (and probably most others) team will look different in August than it does in March.. Personally never been a fan of individual meetings I’m more a team speedway man, but the 16 lapper was always an exception. Always loved this event since I was a kid so pleased it’s still being considered if not guaranteed to return just yet.

Ellis it is.

Or Louis has used his broken calculator again..
-
Was that on radio Suffolk?

I agree it does seem to be a bit of a missed opportunity not to pick either up on those averages which would then allow for a powerful top 5.
