Has he definitely signed for a Premiership club?
-
Ours will almost certainly go up as well then I’d have thought as Leicester have just announced theirs at 21 quid. Might go down the season ticket route as for the first time in donkeys years, this years was decent value.
-
Harsh but true! I can remember Louis speaking on radio Suffolk after the play off defeat and he accepted we’d done well (which we did to be fair) but also accepted there was a growing frustration amongst the fans that the wait for the title goes on. In his own words “ we HAVE to be winning it next year”. So let’s see whether he’s as clueless as some of those fans when he announces the team to pull it off
-
Disagree, don’t think many would bat an eyelid if King wasn’t in the team as long as the septet put together looked a potential title winning one.
-
He really has to deliver a league title sooner rather than later. He can’t claim poverty as there isn’t a team who is backed financially more in the league. It’s purely down to team building.
-
There it is..
-
No, it’s top secret! All I know is Hume isn’t on the mysterious list.
-
That will depend on Ipswich. Hume isn’t on the rising Star list, so I’d think Kemp will come back in to contention at Foxhall.
-
You wouldn’t have thought so but we’ll see.
-
He’s not on the list.
-
You don’t follow Ipswich, so with respect you don’t know what’s usual and what isn’t. Some clubs don’t say anything at all and don’t expect to hear anything. From an Ipswich point of view, we usually hear the thoughts of the promotion on the AGM/rules/set up for the following season within days, along with thoughts on which way the team building may go and how advanced the planning is. CL is usually very good at this sort of thing. Just pointing out that this year that has yet to happen which is unusual. No big deal!
-
He gives his thoughts on the AGM and his thoughts for the following year, every year around this time. Either through Radio Suffolk, Mike Bacon in the Ipswich Star or on the official site. He hasn’t done that this year. Not necessarily talking about naming riders. It’s just unusual that’s all.
-
King makes far more sense this time than last year on his average. Last season was the time to let him ride elsewhere IMO. Still wouldn’t be against him moving on this time either though, could be good for both parties to have a fresh start.
-
Going to need someone to back up Doyle. Difficult to do with him using so many of the points up but one has to be found if we’re to compete next year. King/Riss just won’t cut it as second/third heatleaders I’m afraid. You then have the problem of not leaving your reserves too weak, we saw the problems Wolves had this year with that very problem. Very difficult for Louis to get the balance right this time and it’ll be interesting to see how he goes about it.
-
I know some will say it’s very early, but Louis has been very quiet and we’ve normally heard his thoughts on the AGM and plans for next years team as soon as the AGM is over but this year we’ve heard nothing.
-
Wouldn’t get too hung up on ages either. Hume may be 26 but he was a late starter in Speedway. At the same age, Jason Doyle with more years experience was a 5 pointer. Everyone is different.
-
He’s no world beater obviously, but he’s consistently been a 5 and a half pointer for years, riding in the 1-5. That would suggest there’s a point increase on his current 4 and a half, especially if pitched at reserve. Anyone signing Kerr on that figure is making a shrewd signing. Cook is the same, although carries more risk than Kerr because of reliability issues in recent seasons. You can never be confident that Cook won’t take another “break” during the season these days sadly.

For what it’s worth, I’ve also heard Chris Holder is on his way to Peterborough. Until he puts pen to paper though (maybe he already has) things can always change. -
Agree. Neither are bad signings on those averages, far from it.

Holder won’t get anywhere near Doyle’s average here. We had all this this time last year when more than one person tipped younger Holder, Kurtz and Max Fricke to all eclipse Doyle this year, and none of them got remotely close. -
I’d take Kemp back over Rowe for the RS personally if Hume is no longer on it.

Poole won’t receive a single penny. A courtesy call is all you’ll receive.
-
Not sure two of those will be there.
-
So 39 for 6 it remains. Decision time, sign Doyle on 10 and a half or not? As good as he is, I’m not sure personally. Certainly not an easy decision either way.. Someone like Masters at 1 would have been the move. I get he’s settled at Wolves and it would have been unlikely, but he’s a Foxhall track expert and would have done a cracking job at 1 and would have given us a couple of points in the bank for the other 5.
