Carter, Morton,simmons,louis,wilson What Order.?
nw42 replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Years Gone By
Good read this topic, someone mentioned the fact that Mort was always riding under the shadow of PC, ok they were mate but even so... I have to ask what would opinions of Mort be if PC hadn't won the final in 76? Without knowing the exact figures it's likely that their 2 careers would have pretty much mirrored each other, both had Pairs, WTC & BLRC successes, both had good long track careers including medals. I know it's off topic but these threads do throw up some diverse thinking. I was fortunate enough to see both PC & Mort from their training school days right through virtually all of their careers and tbh I find it hard to split them, both excellent team riders, both terrible gaters, PC was the darling of the Aces faithful but that is probably just down to the fact that he had around a 12month start over Chris. -
Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17

Buggered up your quotes there eh. -
Max Fricke scored a decent 7points in Sweden tonight, he was definitely on the pace and didn't appear to be holding back, the track looked the sort that requires strength & stamina to ride but he rode hard in the 3 heats I saw him ride. Keep it going Max, we definitely need you firing on all cylinders come Monday.

I think it must be nigh on impossible to watch on a screen when you're so close to the action (and noise) as NP & KT usually are, certainly not easy to swap between both track & screen as the time it would take to re-focus would make it impossible to keep up with the action. We have to remember how a speedway race is just about the most intense 60 seconds of any sport you could mention. I'm not their biggest fan by any stretch but I try to cut them a bit of slack these days, I can't think of anyone better equipped for the job at present and I'm just so glad we have any speedway to watch at all considering the state of the sport. Can't say I noticed any Poole bias from them last night either, they just fill the space with whatever they have in mind at the time in an attempt to make it more interesting for new/casual viewers, although Kelvin is getting on my t!ts by using the term dirtometer every week, it was an acceptable, mildly funny line for a couple of weeks but ffs Kelv you've worn it out now, drop it there's a good chap..

Unfortunately I missed your commentary Dave, had to resort to Cmore, hopefully I'll have this new channel sussed for tomorrow if that's where it's being shown. Good meeting though, thoroughly enjoyed it. -

Good to see Max Fricke getting stuck in, must need some strength to get round those bends, hopefully he'll be fully fit and flying next Monday. -
Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17
nw42 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It is a cracking meeting but it's not because it's on a good track, quite the opposite really, it's like a rodeo but there's been plenty of excitement for us neutrals. Glad you feel lucky though. -
Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17
nw42 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Of course it's racing, same for both teams even if it is a crap track, let's face it we know what the track will be like at Poole, it's not been any different for a couple of years at least. Cracking meeting. -

This thread has provided today's guilty pleasure for me, I know I shouldn't but I find myself having to refresh every 15 minutes or so just to see who is getting closer to the ban hammer being introduced. I'd say it's a close run thing at the moment but it's definitely hotting up. Either way it has certainly whetted my appetite for tonight's meeting, here's hoping the all the hot air being spouted here helps to compensate for the rain that seems likely to fall. Bring it on!! -

Why not just lock it anyway, there's nothing constructive being said by anyone, the topic meeting is done and dusted. -
I'm fairly sure both the 2nd legs are being shown, so alternate heats would be the format, a veritable feast of races for tv viewers.

Adams has displayed that attitude for as long as he's been interviewed on tv, fair enough I suppose but to be that way he relies on being right all the time, for once he cocked up and made himself look a d!ck. Fair play to Tatum for putting him back in his box. -

Inspirational, Leon Madsen grew at least a foot taller during that speech. -
Smolinski And Pussies

In for a penny in for a pound, why not bring back readers wives, there were some crackers in those 70's editions. As for Smolinski, I like it when he's included in a meeting, you never know what you will get with him and it's clear he doesn't mind mixing it with anyone on the track, as per Kildemand. -
Rye House Vs Poole 28/8/17 7.30pm.
nw42 replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Me too, some decent passing in a good few heats. Never seen the track before but am quite impressed, must be great to have both Nicholls & Harris to watch every week, both are spectacular when on song, throw Ben Barker & Stuart Robson into the mix and it makes for an exciting line up. Great crowd too, how much bigger is it than the usual home gate? No reason why plenty of them won't come back again @ full price (apart from the price) as they've been entertained tonight. -

Thanks Virgil, F.A.B. -
Didn't sing God save the Queen though did he, not a proper Brit like Tai.
-
Yep, can't believe Nigel didn't offer an apology to the viewers and explain what a high pressure job it is.
-
Great night for Woffinden, perfect way to send out the message that he's still a force, well done Tai, brilliant win for Great Britain.
-
Couple of rides later and normal service is resumed.

Horrible crash in the second race, Pawlicki unlucky as I thought it looked like Emil's shoulder might have clipped his bars and caused Piotr to turn towards the fence. Either a shame to start the meeting like that, hope he recovers soon.
