  1. Ok I take that back, he is now a disgrace to the sport, pulling out of the meeting should cost him dearly, I'd love it if he were stripped of the title but I doubt it will go that far.
  2. Well I wouldn't go that far but he's certainly let himself down just there. I doubt he will care in the long run but at least they didn't mess around with retrospective punishment and actually showed some teeth.
  3. That's the way to deal with cheating, hit em hard straight away, very unsporting of Hancock and he got what he deserved.
  4. Well just in case your curiosity gets the better of you just jump on this fella's youtube channel (the guy with the leather cap) a couple of hours after the meeting and the GP should be there in full if the rest of the season is anything to go by. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LQCnmTrPRc Don't thank me, thank racers & royals, he's the lord of the links in these parts. I'm also nonplussed about this one but seeing as I finish work about 6am on Saturday I will endeavour to stay awake for it, after all it's a long winter without any live speedway.
  5. So you were wrong in calling Richie very unprofessional, is that what you're saying? Here's the problem though, you say there is clear evidence of the comments about Rob, can you elaborate please? There's only one person on here who has said they heard this abuse, funnily enough the same poster has confirmed that Richie didn't swear. So if you are willing to rely 100% with that poster's account of the abuse why would you not accept that Richie didn't swear and admit you were wrong? Thing is Steve you haven't said you were wrong in calling Richie unprofessional for swearing on tv, you just offered the benefit of doubt because it's what I claim. It seems Gordon Bennett is correct in his post above. I'm done with this now, wouldn't normally bother dragging things out to this degree but you wound me up with your lies and smug attitude.
  6. You just won't have it will you, stick some earphones on and have a proper listen, I've already told you what Richie Worrall said but you continue to suggest he swore and don't accept you are wrong on this one. Just because Nigel apologised for it doesn't mean it happened. I can't do more than hand you the evidence on a plate, what other evidence would you need to put you in a position to say you were wrong in calling Richie unprofessional? I've already forgiven Tai for the scum comment because he's retracted/removed it. You seem to conveniently believe that someone shouted something about his late father yet there is no 'clear evidence' of this, that's having double standards. Do you know of any other sick comments that were made, or are you just relying on hearsay. I know it's getting heavy going but sometimes these things just get accepted as fact because they are referred to enough times, well I don't think it's fair on Richie or the Belle Vue crowd. You have the evidence regarding Richie yet can't hear it, you have no evidence whatsoever regarding any sick comments about Rob Woffinden but you choose to believe they were made. Let's move on then eh, it's clear you won't accept that you were wrong.
  7. I suggest you go back over the recording of the meeting and then come back and tell me Richie Worrall swore, he didn't, been done to death a couple of days ago. In fact here you go, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LQCnmTrPRc the interview is @ 1.05 & 50secs and he says "felt like I didn't have any speed". Not one swear word thoughout the whole interview, in fact it was a very cool interview considering he'd just beaten the World Champion. Might seem trivial but you called him very unprofessional and I don't think that's fair As for Mark Lemon, before ht11 he said in answer to a question from Chris Louis re the behind closed doors team chat, "Just getting out of the cold Chris, it's bloody freezing". How very unprofessional is that Steve? Even if anyone did use worse language it would have been understandable in the cauldron atmosphere that had been created by the Belle Vue fans. Nobody is saying Wolves didn't deserve to win but you seem to be looking for a rise by spouting about winning when there is no argument from any Belle Vue posters, the better team won and that's that, again congratulations to Wolves, especially PK. Sometimes Steve it's better not to try and defend someone when they are clearly in the wrong. You were the one who quoted Tai's posting calling Belle Vue fans scum, he has since, sensibly, retracted that word yet you still seem to think he can do no wrong. That scum comment has been pretty much the only thing any Aces fans have a beef with, the banter at the track was just banter and enjoyed by all it seems. One poster says they heard a comment about Rob Woffinden while on the back straight terrace, it's almost certain that Tai wouldn't have heard that same comment, so the word scum was unwarranted. I think we can forget all about the Rob Woffinden insult, it's completely unsubstantiated, which is strange considering the terrace was packed fairly solid. Got to say if I had heard such a derogatory comment as has been suggested I would have sought the perpetrator and had words myself, that goes for whatever team they or I were supporting. So maybe you should just try and enjoy your victory instead of looking for negatives to throw the way of Belle Vue. Well done Wolves, worthy winners of the 2016 Play off Final.
  8. We can only deal with what he actually said, or posted, the quote you posted stated fans were scum for booing him. Only one poster on here has said they actually heard anything specific and they said it was about his dad, if true that is unforgivable but other than that it's just booing and chanting who are ya. Plenty have said how the crowd helped to ramp up the already tense atmosphere, surely that is a positive, booing comes with the territory if you want an atmosphere. I dread to think what would have happened if he'd slid off in his tac ride, Aces fans would be accused of cheering a fallen rider blah blah blah. So, one person has said they heard abuse mentioning Rob and we all latch on to that, fair enough. It was a fantastic final and it's a shame this thread has ended up with backbiting about something someone random happened to hear.
  9. Bang on the money, I can remember being 10y/o and scared when I approached Olsen in the pits for his autograph, I thought he may have known I'd been booing him for all I was worth just minutes earlier. Luckily he didn't recognise me and signed accordingly.
  10. None of my business but would it not be worth asking robert72 if he still has his kevlars and if he's free on the 22nd? He's lined up against World Champions in the past and maybe could still do a job in a patched up side.
  11. The airport is 8 miles from the centre of Manchester, it's one road all the way, a dual carriageway that becomes a motorway for the last 3 miles or so. 25 minutes drive in traffic. Driving to it from the south invariably means using the M6/M56 but there are alternatives, A34 for example.
  12. It's just a chant, one that's easy to get going, whoever started it last night should take a bow. Most football chants are inane but when delivered at the right time they can be genius. Learn their place? Their place is supporting the most famous speedway club in the World, bar none. I've always had time for Woffinden and have enjoyed watching him race, he was last night's pantomime villain and he played up to it, the idiots comment was nothing imo, unlike the "scum" comment he apparently made online later, that was going too far.
  13. Great to read about Wilkie, he immediately sprang to mind when it kicked off near the pit gate, the memories of that evening back in 72(?) against Leicester, Alan Cowland upset Wilkie on the track and all hell broke loose after the race, riders, mechanics and hangers on getting stuck in, Alan Morrey had his work cut out to calm it all down. Wilkie was an inspirational captain for the Aces and a real character of the sport, he once climbed the ladder to the refs box at Saddlebow Rd in order to have a quiet word regarding an exclusion. I wish I could have been there last night, the atmosphere in my living room was tense, it must have been electric to have been there, can't remember the last time I heard scores, if not hundreds, chanting like they did at Woffinden, pure drama. As for Craig Cook, he loves Belle Vue Speedway and was so pumped up last night, maybe he did go a bit too far when confronting Lindgren but it made for brilliant viewing and just served to ramp up the tension, more of the same next season please, loved it.. Great advert for the sport, brilliant end to the season and Congratulations to Wolves, especially PK, lovely chap and I doubt anyone begrudges him that finale to his British career. Roll on next season, can't wait.......
  14. Well at least Kelvin was well wrapped up, no gloves either.... proper coat, a coat from the top drawer.
  15. I think you're wrong Lisa, listen again on the youtube link above, he said he "felt like he didn't have any speed" @ 1.05 & 50 seconds. No big deal but I'm sure his mum will be pleased he kept it clean..
  16. For anyone who didn't get to see the meeting, fill your boots https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LQCnmTrPRc I could watch race after race on that track, spectacularly fast.
  17. Oh shut up, you've slagged at least half the Belle Vue team tonight, just watch the bloody racing and enjoy it for what it is, a decent meeting on a fair track with no potholes.
  18. Great ride from Howarth and Clegg there, brilliant, congratulations Wolves.
  19. He's been saying it since about 19.55 on Monday, like a stuck record..
  20. I didn't think Worrall swore then when interviewed, what you on about Nige??
  21. I don't think bad luck came into it on Monday, Wolves wanted it more than some of the Aces riders showed. I like the play-offs but it's nerve wracking when you're team is involved. The good thing about tonight is that it's at the best track in the country and the weather has been more than kind, whatever the result I'm sure we are in for some exciting heats, can't ask for much more to bring the curtain down on the season. Come on Aces, time to step up and do the impossible.
  22. Who cares, they're all cockneys anyway. As for food, depends on time really but, as you say, town is only a short bus hop away and you can get whatever you want once there. The curry mile is only 5 minutes drive if anyone likes a ruby.
