It's just the only place to be seen these days. -
British Final Belle Vue June 13th.
nw42 replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Bit of info for those travelling any distance, "Fans travelling to Belle Vue for tonight's British Final please note that the Mancunian Way (A57) arterial road through the city centre is completely closed today for a carriageway inspection. This closure is affecting all major routes into and around Manchester therefore we strongly advise those attending to allow for plenty of time to factor this closure into their journey" .http://www.bellevueaces.co/newsitem.aspx?id=1770 Basically if you're travelling from the south then it would be best to come in from the Stockport/ Denton side in order to avoid the worst of the problems. -
H&S dictates that people can't move around, otherwise capacities may be exceeded in certain areas which could cause overcrowding issues etc etc. I've always had a wander at most speedway stadia I've been to, it's good to watch from different areas. The grandstand @ NSS is all seated, there's no terracing paddock at the front at all, so I suppose it's understandable that you can't just saunter in there from the other stands. Best spot for me is the west terrace (first bend) but if it rains there is no shelter there.

I've gone for Zagar e/w @ 14s, he went well in the last GP and seems to be flying in general, well worth a shout imo, here's hoping. -
British Final Belle Vue June 13th.
nw42 replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Many great nights for the BLRC and the place was always packed to the rafters, some 25,000 I believe. The British Final was held on a Weds night back then though and Brandon was also rammed every year as I recall. Perhaps next year and for the future it could be given the prestige of a Saturday meeting, also if the NSS is awarded any other big meetings like a gp or whatever they could have the British Final around the same time and get double the use out of the temporary seating they may have installed, keeps the costs down and allows for a proper full house if the interest is there. These things were just pie in the sky until recently but this track and stadium need to be used as often as possible and riders will be queuing up to get a spin round it I'm sure, so here's hoping for a cracking meeting for the final. -
2016 Swc Semi's And Final 29/30/july 2016

Try this link, should show you the plan, http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase edit, forget that, use this link and click buy World Cup tickets, then click choose your seat and it should take you to a plan of the stadium. wherever you decide to watch you won't be disappointed with the view I'm sure, although obviously the temp stand hasn't been built yet so nobody's tried it yet. http://www.bellevueaces.co/ -
Lakeside Hammers V Wolverhampton Wolves - 1 June On Sky
nw42 replied to TonyE's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
In your opinion. I thought it was a great meeting and I nearly gave it a swerve as the racing @ Lakeside is normally boring. There was passing in the majority of races and plenty of times there were multiple passes within a race, I would have felt I'd had value for money if I'd attended. Anyway, how many races have you won round Lakeside?? -
Lakeside Hammers V Wolverhampton Wolves - 1 June On Sky
nw42 replied to TonyE's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Tbh I thought the crowd looks ok compared to the usual when Sky are there, then again I'm not there and it's hard to tell from the tv. I don't recall seeing anyone on the backstraight terrace before. Decent meeting anyway, best I can remember from Lakeside, plenty of passing, well done both teams. -

Possibly because he doesn't seem to like closing the throttle, he won't have to round there. -
Belle Vue V Coventry 30th May, 2016
nw42 replied to Aces51's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Well I've only been once and I bought a ticket for the backstraight terrace, I ended up transferring to the grandstand although it wasn't easy and I suspect it's not something you can normally do. The grandstand facilities, catering etc are much better than on the backstraight but I suppose these will be improved as they go. I can't imagine there's a bad view from anywhere, you're close to the track wherever you stand/sit. I'm hoping that the first bend terrace will be open today, it appeals to me as a viewing spot, it's right next to the pits and looks like it will offer a cracking view of the first bend action. Parking seemed plentiful and was located just round the corner from the stadium (school) I think it was £3. Hope this helps, enjoy your first trip to the track. edit, I bought my ticket online and printed it before I set off (cos I'm loaded, apparently), so am unsure on purchasing at the track but I can't see a card being a problem. -
Belle Vue V Coventry 30th May, 2016
nw42 replied to Aces51's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It was indeed, I did a few early morning runs to Saddlebow back in the day, not the easiest journey back either what with bank holiday traffic. Just the same as any other online ticket purchase system. It's not obligatory, people are welcome to queue and buy them at the stadium. Seems like folk are running out of 'valid' reasons to have a go at BV, scraping the barrel there iainb. -
I'd say that makes them complicated...... Full Definition of complicated 1: consisting of parts intricately combined <a complicated recipe> 2: difficult to analyze, understand, or explain <a complicated issue http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/complicated

Poole Pirates Vs Belle Vue Aces 23/5/16 Sky Meeting
nw42 replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think it's always been the case on here that during meetings the scores aren't discussed, seems fair really as the updates site is there for the purpose and people put a lot of effort to it, just sayin'. -
Smug, ok if that's how you see it, you're entitled to your opinion, which means I am too. My opinion is that you really are a prize plum, you keep on spouting the same old claptrap, you never acknowledge the actual words of the replies you get, instead you just carry on with you inane ramblings, rain this, rain that, well you've been given the facts about rainfall, so that's another of your theories killed stone dead. Truth of it is you're jealous, aren't you. Why can't you be like almost everyone else and be pleased for the Belle Vue (The most famous speedway club in the World) that they have been given the opportunity to operate from the National Speedway Stadium? Anyway, what about those rain facts you've been shown, any comment?

Poole Pirates Vs Belle Vue Aces 23/5/16 Sky Meeting

Maybe Jack was on borrowed last night, you're right though, he was flying. -
As already pointed out to you, of course good drainage saves meetings, otherwise why have any drainage in the first place. You do say some strange things fella..
-
If you had been anywhere near Manchester yesterday and had seen the amount of rain that fell you would have been amazed that a meeting was actually started in the first place, the drainage system obviously works well. The deluge that came after ht12 made it potentially dangerous and the right call was made. I'm also fairly sure that if the rain had eased off they would not have had to wait long before they could have resumed racing, unfortunately the heavy rain continued and a call off was inevitable. So, however much more rain Manchester gets than other UK cities will be cancelled out by the excellent drainage system. On racedays when it does rain heavily they will still have chances of running as long as it eases by late afternoon, not many tracks would be able to do this. You're just going to have to accept that Belle Vue being the most famous club in the World, with the proudest history, were always going to be the custodians of the National Speedway Stadium. You should come up and have a look sometime, there's loads of room.

2016 Swc Semi's And Final 29/30/july 2016
nw42 replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You will love it when you do eventually get over to a meeting there, made for speedway, just like Hyde Rd, any other sport that goes on there takes second place every time. Emil at full bore round that track is a frightening thought, Lagutas too, in fact anyone who is in the mood to wind it on will be worth paying to see, it looks like a track with no limits, can't wait to go again, British Final for me next I think. Hope you get over here to see it soon. -

nw42 replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
That's the first bend terrace Steve, I was hoping to stand there last night but they didn't open it, perhaps just as well as I would have had a soaking, there's no shelter whatsoever on that section. That said it really appeals to me as a viewing point, right next to the pits and a great view of the whole track, mind you that's true of any point in the stadium I think. I'd say it will only hold a couple of hundred people at most, I'm sure you won't be disappointed with your purchase. -
Those knocking Lambert need to give their heads a wobble, he's learning his trade and needs all the support we can give him. My first visit to the new home of the Aces last night, very impressive even though the weather took it's toll in the end. The track was fine early on, even though it had rained on and off all day, but as others have said it will take more meetings for it to produce it's best racing, passing was at an absolute premium during the early heats but you could see riders gaining ground on others by testing different lines, I'm confident it will be a great track for years to come. If the deluge that came after ht12 hadn't occurred I would have expected Lambert to be among the qualifiers, the track was starting to produce passes, just unfortunate to not have been given the 5 rides. Berge was very impressive, can certainly gate well and looked smooth out in front, Jack Holder also looked to be benefiting from having Chris in the pits with him, unsure if he had Chris's bikes but he was fast. Due to the weather it wasn't the best of first visits but definitely enough to ensure I will be going back as and when I can, well done Chris Morton & Dave Gordon.
