  1. I hope a decision is made soon, and he is back on a bike as soon as possible i would prefer a hefty fine a two year lay/off for me is to harsh. Also for me by making a example of him is not the way to go, the sport world wide is not in a great anough shape to afford to do it stars put bums on seats.
  2. Great post, having regular foreign visitors like we had in the past would be great.
  3. Thats good then, as he is a knowledgeable bloke and he gives us an insite that sometimes we would never have. Also after all Big cat, he is a speedway nut through and through like most of us.
  4. Phil Rising he comes on to the forum as a speedway fan, for me why does he bother? The crap sometimes he has to take is unreal, some of your comments have been uncalled for.I for one enjoy his posts, and he gives us alot of feedback that we would never get. For me if that was lost that would be a shame and to honest if he didnt bother posting again who could blame him.
  5. Go and do the washing or maybe the dishes, you are becoming tiresome.!!
  6. You are entitled to your opinion but comparing there ability at the same age is not Pathetic.Maybe hypothetical, but you have to say Lambert thrown straight in to the EL and he did not even start in March was a few weeks behind was at a higher level that Ward started at.Also as you said Ward averaged about seven in his first EL campaign( i admit the level was higher ) that was after a full season in the PL.Look nobody underestimates what a talent Ward is, Lambert if his gating can improve will progress no doubts in my mind injury free.
  7. Some good points certainly about the speed element, and lets be honest how many can compare with Ward.? But a thing i have never done is to convert a EL average to a PL two different disciplines different tracks and different sizes. Some of the tracks in the Pl would of suited him down to the ground,ie) Scunthorpe,Workington,Somerset,Sheffield,as examples proper racing strips.I will stick my neck out and say he will certainly turn out a better rider than Cook i am hopefull that he has a great career ahead of him. Morris i see everyweek and the quality is there,if he keeps working he will get higher up the ladder.A rider who i have kept an eye on and he has really impressed me is the Czech Eduard Krcmar he is promising.
  8. Are you for real 7?have you not seen him ride?.Gordon Bennett nailed it, the difference is just his gating but for a sixteen year old he has a great racing brain. And lets not forget he has coped easily in the top five all year,i don't think there are any reserves there now who would cope week in week out.He would of learned alot this year, set ups ( ect) for me the most impressive thing about him is he is not phased by reputations.
  9. I think when I first started going there were more variety, cup competitions, more individual meetings, four team tournaments. So if your club was out of the running for silver wear fans still come now there is just a basic league programme and that's it.
  10. I agree Gustafsson i know was a bit older but he was a talent he underachieved i believe.
  11. LEE at 16 was in a different parish, a no 1 in the old NL and was averaging 7.50 in the best league in the world. You are right though Lambert is a prospect and he has impressed me he can push on Kurtz also is in the same bracket.
  12. There was a decent pub just down the road that we used to have a few pints in and a chat with the locals.Cant remember the name but there were some real old timers in there who you could speak to about the past great days.
  13. A nasty post and no need for it in my opinion, like i said before your best bet is to skip along and do the the dishes! Your comment was totally uncalled for, whatever level i admire anybody who has the balls to put there leg over a speedway bike whether they are a trainee rider or a six time world champion. Is Dean not entitled to his OPINION? have a look back on what you wrote Jacques a disgrace in my book.
  14. The Carter wins were memorable meetings for me in the BLRC, also in the 1983 event the track was soaking but still produced some exciting racing. The Mauger meeting was decent also six riders in a race was a site,Nielsen showed me there he could ride Hyde Rd up until then he had looked only reasonable at best at the venue.
  15. Great post, i hope you visit the new stadium.!
  16. I am not a hater i am not new and going by your comment you dislike him more than i do.I have met him when a Oxford rider and he seemed a decent bloke,i judge him on his record of major incidents over quite a long period of time.I just think now time has caught up with him, people are not frightened of him Kildemand showed that last night no sentiment at all.
  17. Do you know all the facts? NO i go by my own exsperience, he always had time for the fans autographs pictures time for a chat.If you are telling me he is not a great ambassador for the sport, well we might as well all give up i was never a fan but you cannot help respecting the bloke i certainly do. Andy Smith as a example was a great racer, a difference between that and being a great rider.
  18. All i will remember of Greg is what a great rider he has been, what a great ambassador we have for our sport but the main thing will be that he always had time for the fans.
  19. I am not a hater i admire what he has achieved in the sport, but for me he is not up there with the great champions. To be that you have to do that on both sides as a rider and how you react to winning and losing.Hancock as an example shows that he is no different in defeat than he is when winning god and it is rich coming from you is there a bigger POOLE hater on this earth than you.??
  20. We all know some sportsman have to have an edge, nothing wrong with that but they have to be able to take it as well at times he does not do it well.
  21. Did you see Batches' foot near to Pedersen,s rear wheel? he was very lucky in my book no way he could of stayed on.
  22. Percentages say Arson that he is going to lose out sometimes, how many incidents has he been involved in over the years? we have all lost count. The thing is he looked like he had the pace to pick Batch off anyway and his reaction to the woman in his team says it all really. Could you ever see Hancock doing that?a massive difference between the two men.
  23. Good, the old saying is what comes around, riders now have wised up to him are not intimidated and he is now often coming off second best.
  24. I also hope Oldace that you give the new stadium a go, a great club and the loyal fans deserve it.Who knows maybe they could get a GP round? was thinking if it was not for the Bradford disaster that B ........ Bamforth would not of been able to sell Hyde Rd.One of the saddest days in speedway for me the bulldozing of that place heartbreaking loads of people were lost to speedway because of that episode.
  25. It is funny really chadster, that two of my favourite ever riders Tommy Jansson and Michael Lee never really had great records at Hyde Rd.It was a difficult track to visit certainly if you were only riding it once or twice a year a real challenge i think for a rider.
