  1. Had there been another side in the group and that side managed to make Peterborough drop those home points it makes it very likely THAT team wouldve been second in the group AND therefore in with a chance of being better placed runners up than Sheffield too
  2. A bit like not accepting a simple principle of average points per match??
  3. What if the team in 3rd in 1 group had a better record that the team in 2nd in the other??
  4. And if you put Scunthorpe in the Peterborough group and look at the result the Panthers got at EWR they couldve had the chance to score more points All pure conjecture in both scenarios which leaves us back with the actual situation and using the actual rules which result in Boro qualifying
  5. Agree - the average match points take into account the 2 away defeats for Sheffield that HAVE taken place
  6. You yet again ignore the defeats Pboro 3 pts per home meeting Sheffeiled 3 pts per home meeting Identical records Pboro 3 pts from 2 away ave 1.5 Sheff 4 pts from 3 away ave 1.33° Now which is the better away record??
  7. You fail to take any account for the 2 defeats that Sheffield had whilst Peterborough only had 1 Pboro won half their away meetings and Sheff a third - when I went to school a half was larger than a third Even 1 losing point in either of those wouldve given the Tigers a better match point average and they didnt manage it You talk of mathmatical advantage of a smaller group when the larger group had the advantage of an extra chance to gain an all important losing point That team didnt even have to win or draw to gain an advantage only lose by less!
  8. Wright and Jeppesen out Vissing and Covatti in
  9. Congratualtions to the Pussycats on qualification for the semi finals
  10. Poor effort from the Witches - especially Rory Scored at least 10 points more than ideal
  11. All the best to Ulrich - heres hoping its better than the updates sound
  12. As good an option as any Baldy. Certainly no obvious other newbies
  13. Seems you are right regards 'stuff' Baldy All the best for a speedy recivery Michael
  14. Remind me who Shanes would replace and where thats rider is in the Championship.....
  15. All foreign by any defintion you may wish to choose
  16. Bad news all round We havent really had the chance to see enough of Michael in a Witches suit to form a justifiable opinion (and quite possibly now never will) Best of luck to him
  17. There lies the problem. IF it was REALLY seen as Mon and Thurs making a positive difference to the health of British Speedway then the fact 1 or 2 Championship clubs may have been put out shouldve been overidden by that
  18. Given that the regs state the home side have to initially set their team 5 days before any meeting there really is no excuse
  19. Probably but only 1 rider reponsible for control over said machine and doesnt change the outcome Original comment made no indication of intent
