It means Boro are in a strong position so long as they beat the Witches 9 points 4 meetings ave 2.25 From the 4 team groups this would require 3 home wins 1 away win and 2 losing points to have a higher ave Given that kind of record would normally top a group its unlikely a second placed team will be as a good as that At least it means the Witches still have something to ride for on Tuesday -

Ipswich v Lakeside 21st April
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv replied to Badge's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Its always disappointing to lose but at least there was a bit more of a spectacle tonight Track was difficult - more than a little rough and rather patchy We never really got going again and 1 or 2 need to give themselves a shake Can there be any positives? You could argue that half a wheel in the right place in heat 15 in both home meetings wouldve resulted in 2 5-1s and 2 wins despite looking poor overall. It is only those small margins that are the difference. -
Thats why I asked if it was out

To have any chance of progress we need to stop Lakeside taking even a point We will need to be 10x better than the first meeting to do that and cant afford too many last places Im confident we will win but hitting 50+ will be tough -

Isnt it more likely that the Bates injury will keep him out longer and therefore he will form part of any double change -

It was a bold and brave move for Ipswich to switch direction from largely local based riders to bringing in Sigalos and Cook. Chalk and cheese in many ways with Sigalos silky smooth and stylish whilst Cook seemed rough around the edges and was all hustle and bustle. Sigalos for me was only prevented from reaching the very top by injury and could easily have been a worthy world champion at individual level. Cookie was a fans dream with his all action style and flair and often could pull off moves that defied physics! I recall him decked out in camoflauge leathers breaking the track record in his opening ride. In his 2nd outing he appeared to be even quicker and destined to smash his newly set time only to bail out spectacularly. There are not many times when a rider leading so comfortably in race could be so exciting. -

It is a measure of his standing that if any 'non speedway' person was to be asked (even now) to name a speedway rider then it would be Ivan more often than not. A true legend of the sport - RIP Ivan -
