if you read my post I put the word 'unlikely' in it. I think it is very 'unlikely' that Holder , Andersen , Buck and Pedersen will be at Poole next season. It's my opinion that's all and up for debate. I just remarked that it would be a time for Poole to rebuild
-
is this the same Milik and Madsen who both finished above Lindback in the European Champs because if it is then they quite clearly are up to Lindbackd level. Milik has an average so that should stick but Madsen has to be a 7. Doubt he would ride over here though. Looks like a difficult time for Poole. Holder, Andersen, Buck, Pedersen all unlikely to be with the club plus doubts over Ellis. Could be the first big rebuild in a long time.

Correct But as i said if the rule is premier league conversion then Jacobs will be on 3.22 which is ridiculously low for the way he rides his home track but maybe to high for the way he rides some away tracks. Either way he may improve at some places so 3.22 is a good base for your number 7 Adam Ellis rode more of the season in the main body than Newman and averaged more by 0.08 Therefore he must have a higher average next season than Newman (laughable how Shovlar reckons it should be 3.00!) Convert Ellis to Newmans premier average and add on 0.08 (elite league difference) would convert to 4.12 which in my view would be to low for someone who is better than Newman and able to hold team a second string role
-
Im not saying they should all be reassessed but it has to be a level playing field across the board. If you are going to convert the EDR riders from Premier league averages then it has to be all of them. Steve Worrall is a better rider than Kyle Newman so he should have a higher average. But if you are going to have Newman on 3.79 then Worrall gets his average converted as well. Joe Jacobs has an elite league average almost the same as his premier league one. (5.36 and 5.14). He gained his elite league average from the reserve berth only, so should he be 5.14 next season?? No is the answer. He should be 3.22 with the conversion. You cant just convert 1 or 2 EDR riders you have to do all of them and in Belle Vues case they would have had a right touch!
-
My list above Ok remove Masters , Richie Worrall, and Tungate and the other averages should be correct then. Jacobs and Worrall look a steal to me! Ok so if a rider rides here on a 5 average at the start of his career, doesnt ride here for 5 years, and in that time then becomes a top gp rider you think its ok to come back on a 5? Of course they have to be reassessed.
-
Steve Worrall on 5.12 Richie Worrall on 5.00 Rohan Tungate on 5.42 Sam Masters on 5.40 Joe Jacobs on 3.21 Lewis Kerr on 3.69 Paul Starke on 3.97 Josh Auty on 4.26 Kyle Howarth on 4.68 Charles Wright on 3.95 All the above spent some time at reserve last season so i agree that if Kyle Newman is 3.79 then the above averages should also come into play. Has to be a level playing field across the board

This was my post in reply to someone who said that Kyle passed Tai and that Tai was only a second string Glad it made you chuckle, you obviously dont understand sarcasm or tongue in cheek. It was my response to the fact a rider of Newmans ability (i.e able to pass Tai on his home track and beating many heat leaders over the season) should be much higher than 3.79. If the rules allow him on that average then it makes a mockery of the league

Wildcards 2017.....
Gavan replied to Panthers89's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I feel Zagar is deserving of a wildcard. Has he had to have one before? Either way he is competitive and when you think of the amount the likes of Lindgren and Jonsson have had surely Zagar deserves one -
True but if you think Kyle Newman should be a 3.79 next season then you know its farcical. If he can beat Tai from the back then Tai's average and Newmans should be roughly the same then?
-
There is no way Kyle Newman should be on a 3.79 average and if the BSPA do the AGM properly then the farce of the Premier league conversion will be ripped up as it should be. Riders should have 2 averages. One for riding at reserve and 1 for the main body. Work out what Ellis and Newman averaged at reserve and thats their average simple really. Kyle Newman beat the World Champ from the back the other week, yet he should be a 3.79??? Dream on!! Win at all costs mentality and sod the rest after this seasons big choke

It's laughable and a lack of thinking from Shovlar if he thinks Ellis will be a 3 and Newman 3.16. It will never happen

Big heat 15 we need minimum 3-3

Belle Vue Vs Wolves, Grand Final 2nd Leg, 5/10/16...
Gavan replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Got to laugh at the usual Poole fan so so so jealous that his team missed out on the final and then has the total audacity to complain about a team strengthening up in time for the play offs!! It's hilarious how many times Poole have changed their teams over the years for the play offs and we are told it's because 'Ford is a wonderful promotor and the others never act'. Well guess what Wolves bought in the World Champion on a legitimate average so no wrong doing at all. Unlike Poole who replaced 'a long term' injury victim with a mercenary in Lindback (10 years since he rode here?) who is on the world top ten on a totally false average. Poole tried a masterstroke and failed. What a great advert for our sport that second leg was and the banter with Woffy was just that. Used to love the old days when we would boo the opposition top rider all in good nature and it made for a good night with no morons overstepping the mark. I remember Ermolenko and Correy at Foxhall getting a 5-1 in the last heat and riding round on the stock car track standing up cupping their hand to their ears with loads of boos. All good fun. Oh and Woffy called some fans idiots which said Poole fan can't stand his attitude but defended everything Darcy Ward did....laughable -

Cant agree with that at all. Tai was hot favourite to beat both Worralls. Lindgren was up against Cook who was still on a high after beating Woffinden, and a dangerous opponent in Fricke As it panned out Heat 10 would have scored more points but that's hindsight. I would say the huge majority would have given the tac ride to the World Champion against a reserve and a rider who was reserve. Good to see the sportsmanship after the race form Tai as well making a point of shaking both their hands -

Cant really believe people are up in arms about Tai. He called a small section of fans idiots He got abuse about his late father............scum is probably to nice a word to direct at someone like that. So apparantly Tai should act differently as a World Champion ...ah bless..........all he did was react to what was happening and apart from a few idiots thats totally fine. Someone has the cheek to say Hancock is a role model, well if clothes lining someone of their bike is an example then thats a tad strange. Good on Woffinden on giving some back and the Belle Vue fans who enjoyed the banter. Personally i wanted Belle Vue to win as they topped the table but congratulations to the Wolves And what an atmosphere........the best there has ever been in a grand final for sure -
but you were happy enough to have Darcy Ward in your team?

you have over reacted. Tai said 'some idiots' not called all the fans that. They booed him from the start chanted 'who are ya' at him when he got beat and some were giving him both the 'w' and 'v' signs. In my eyes nothing wrong in having a pantomime villain though some of it went to far. So when Tai won the league he was quite right to give some back and I bet 99% of the Belle Vue fans expected it as well and took it as it was meant. Happens in football all the time with players giving it back to the crowd and did you see Rory in the Ryder Cup. Obviously you don't like a bit of atmosphere at the track. -

what straws?? I said that when Poole make changes its totally fine as 'Ford is a promoter who isn't afraid to make changes' yet when Wolves do it its not acceptable to some Poole fans. Pirates of Poole said he wasn't one moaning about Tai so I have no idea what you mean by clutching at straws -
Would be great for Tai to ride over here, look at what he has brought the last month or two, talking points and lots of media coverage which the sport desperately needs. Thing is no top GP star (Doyle apart) will be here next season. Holder, Zagar, Iversen all unlikely to be here

Gavan replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Tai used the phrase 'some idiots' not all fans. What ever happened to good old bit of stick from the crowds to the riders and vice versa?? Belle Vue fans gave Woffy pelters and they were right to when their riders beat the World Champion like the Cook/Zagar 5-1 or when Richie Worrall did. So when Tai sealed the league he was quite right to give it back.........some people on here will find any reason to have a pop at Tai. Regards Lindgren he does tend to go a bit over the top lately. He was very hard on Cook and if you watch heat 15 he looked for Fricke and literally just left him no room on the back straight. Their was an amazing atmosphere there tonight what with the Woffy stuff and Cook and Lindgren plus some great racing. Its what the sport needs and what it so badly misses at times. Yet still people moan about Tai this and Tai that..............enjoy the spectacle instead of looking for anything to moan about -

Well said Kelvin Tatum 'the Poole team change their team to win titles'. Spot on and this year someone else did it yet some Poole fans moan totally priceless sore losers. -

Well done Wolves and unlucky for Belle Vue just falling at the last moment. The Belle Vue fans were giving it to Tai all night so what's wrong with giving some back?? That's what used to make the sport entertaining and it doesn't happen enough anymore. We constantly get told how great Matt Ford is and how great he is at making changes when needed and how other promoters could learn from him....well guess what Wolves made a great change this season. How bitter and jealous some people are -

Usual question: Will you be gracing us with your presence (and presents) on 14th Gavan? The Massif will be one man down and could do with you swelling Massif End. Yes im going and bringing my mate along who has only ever seen 1 meeting before ............which was Risagers testimonial in arctic conditions!! I have yet to meet the 'massif' where abouts are you and i may well show my face!! I normally stand just to the right of the main stand on the entry to the the first bend but from time to time move about but its going to be freezing down the back straight! -

I dont think Middlo is a poor manager tactics wise but he wasnt good for Team GB and his biggest issue is is social media stuff. He was gracious in defeat last week i have to say. Hi Lisa glad your pleased. Might not be about to long who knows. Anyways have to say Newman was sensational in the play offs but where has that been all season?
