Still think that last spot is up for grabs between King and Nicholls. You say King is better than NIcholls round the Belle Vue track? He hasnt beat Nicholls there in 3 races so far!! For me Danny has struggled this season. Not one person on here would have had King in their team before last night and does one good meeting on a track that ultimately suited him, make him an auto pick over Nicholls? Im an Ipswich fan and would love to see Danny ride but im also a Team GB fan and on the day would King outscore Nicholls? Jury still out for me
-
Yes Bates struggled last night but whoever rides as reserve (bar Lambert) would struggle against anyone else. For me Bates is as good as if not better than Ellis so as Under 21 champion in my view he deserves that spot. Lets be fair either Ellis or Bates if needed would struggle to get a point
-
If there was total flexibility on the reserves then Lambert at reserve would make total sense. However they can only replace an injured rider so he is wasted at number 5. The track last night wasnt exactly dry so many people immediatly jumping on who should and shouldnt ride. Im an Ipswich fan but even after last nights performance i dont think King is a certainty. He only did ok there in the league meeting on a dry track beaten twice by Nicholls and twice by Cook. He looked good in the dirt last night but is he ahead of Lambert and Nicholls for a place? For me the only 2 certaintys are Tai and Cook. After that we have 3 riders for 2 places , King, Nicholls and Lambert. Nobody else in my opinion should be considered unless injuries happen and then Steve Worrall is next in line. The reserve should be our under 21 champion who likes the big tracks and thats not Adam Ellis!

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I think he thinks that Tai will be racing 5 nights a week lol He only rides for one team in each league therefore 2 nights and maybe the odd time 3 nights, hardly over the top -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?

Why are people banging on about his schedule??? Of course money and the glory of being World Champion is his motivation why dont people get that?? He missed the British Semi Finals because of their proximity to the GP'S He isnt seeded so therefore misses the final. He wants to be World Champion and the best riders ride in Poland and he is contracted there so he wont miss that. He has no need to race in the UK against premier league riders. -
Future Of British Speedway?
Gavan replied to Christopher Bcmma Cook's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The difference between the elite and premier is closer than it has ever been , quite obvious when you consider most of the premier league guys ride in the Elite league. With the exception of a few, its all about the standard of opposition that provides the entertainment not what league it is. -

Yes i can see the newspaper reports and sky sport news writing all about Janowski or Holder winning the World title. Or just maybe if a British rider wins it for the third time thus making him a legend of our sport, there might actually be some big write ups in all the national papers, and there might actually be quite a big focus on it on sky sports??? No i see what you mean.....lets hope Janowski wins it so nobody reports on it! Got to laugh you have one person liking your post and thats Robert72 the forums biggest idiot, must make you happy when he likes what you write -

Dear oh dear its like talking to a couple of school kids who dont seem to understand what people post! Hate is a very strong word, to hate someone is a harsh opinion To say 'Tai haters' is a description to group together a group of people who dislike the guy and his actions. I like the way you try and be pedantic to try and win an argument that only a few are trying to win. Ok you dont 'hate' Tai, what i will try and do next time is call you a 'Tai disliker' would that suit you better? just a quick sample of your love and affection for Tai So stop giving it the big one and asking for proof that you dont like Tai. Im still waiting for proof by the way that the riders in the British Final all get paid differently as well please. -

He is joint top after 3 rounds and hasn't hit top form yet. Hancock will be his biggest threat but can only see Tai getting stronger as the series goes on. Lets hope we have a 3x World Champion for the UK how amazing that would be for British Speedway -
Check your facts before posting next time! Per Jonsson beat Moran in a run off so please enlighten me as to who finished second??

Holder struggling bringing his elite league form to the gp. Should win his next ride its his easiest before a tricky heat 16. Though he is off the inside in his last 2. Good to see him dropping points because as a patriotic brit it's good for Tai that the leader is struggling. Hancock going well again but my bet on Lindback going ok.......so far! -

qualified 100% fairly this year so why let someone else have a go if they weren't good enough to qualify??? I admit he isn't good enough but daft statement to say he shouldn't be there -
he did have the red leathers. It was at Lynn and Tood won heat 2 against Mark who then went unbeaten after that
-
We followed Mark Loram everywhere and i remember at the start of the 1990 season when Mark had moved to Lynn and Todd to Reading Both of them rode at number 7 and Mark i think got 17 and Todd 15. You knew then that these guys were special and of course later that year Todd was world number 3. And he always said it was a pleasure to race Mark who he considered one of the safest riders he raced against.

Edinburgh V Ipswich (pl) 10/6/16 @7.30pm
Gavan replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Maths not your strong point obviously as your heat leaders scored more than ours by 12 points over the 2 meetings We won at home by 3 points as our reserves matched your reserves. Last night we lose by 13 and your reserves outscore ours by more. Change that around to the reserves getting the same and we would have lost by 7. -

At Ipswich your heat leaders outscored us by 5 points yet we still won At Edinburgh your heat leaders outscored us by 7 and we get beat easily Your top 3 is stronger than ours i would say. You lost at our place because your second strings and r/r did nothing. Last night the riders at 2 and 4 in both teams scored the same. Our reserves at home scored 8 and yours got 9 Last night your reserves got 11 and we got 5. Our reserves were the reason -

because the others apart from Sarjeant did their job away fromhome. Our 2 reserves this season have never managed 10 between them all season and I would say without looking that have probably only won 2 or 3 races. We never get a heat as advantage in the reserves races. If your reserves between them are getting only 7 at best your always going to be struggling not an easy target at all but check Ipswich results all season and tell me if you think the scores at home and away are good enough?? -

Gavan replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yet again our reserves and Sarjeant let us down against the worst Edinburgh side I can remember we should have got closer. Fisher past his best and a weak link at 4 and we couldn't get close. Our reserves never get 10 between them on any track! -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
If you truly believe that then you are even more of a buerk then i thought. In your strange little bubble you think: Tai should ride here because he is British He shouldnt have the right because he is British to earn more money elsewhere. He basically should ride over here and earn less You talk absolute sh1te I have a cousin who 5 years ago went to work in Hong Kong because he was offered a lot of money to do that, money which means by the time he is 50 he will have retired and living and doing what he wants. The shelf life of a top speedway rider earning good money is relatively short maybe 10 years or so. After he retires why shouldnt Tai or for that matter any other rider have enough money to live comfortably -
Should Ex Riders Get Into Speedway Free?
Gavan replied to Grachan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Another thread, another topic and still the same character puts out claims and cant back them up in anyway. I see no reason why a paralysed rider shouldnt be charged the same as someone who is paralysed but hadnt ridden, but again it depends on the promotion. I would imagine Lawrence Hare and Kim Jansson would get into Ipswich free but would be understandable if Darcy Ward or Garry Stead didnt. -
Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Gavan replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The stock answer he gives is that he rode once so he knows more than us! Holder has been world champion and you can bet any money you like if he qualifies again for the GP then he will probably not do the UK, doesnt even like the tracks. Jonsson and Bomber are now past there best and cant be World Champ and in Jonsson's case when he was riding at the top end of the gp he left the UK out of his plans...........hmm cant think why Iversen is here but doesnt really want to be and nobody can say that Zagar gives 100% over here. The top boys do not see the UK as important if they want the ultimate goal. Yet people moan at Tai.....quite pathetic really
