dear oh dear you have been told so many times about being a pillock yet you still carry on trotting out the same tripe. Buck is an asset of Frost who is involved with Poole. Now even though you never seem to have the family brain cell I think even you can put 2 and 2 together and see how he ended up at Poole. Quite clearly if Poole wanted Buck he was pretty much likely to line up for them. So please stop waffling on with the same old line of anyone could have had him. In reality his destination was always likely to be only 1 club its a sad state of affairs the way speedway has fallen in this country. The elite league teams have 1 genuine world class rider, then 2 hear leaders who are just about number ones in the premier league followed by second strings who would struggle to be a heat leader in the premier league. Apart from one team whose second strings are the Aussie champion and a rider who is quite clearly a heat leader. And people think I'm going overboard when I say the elite league is watered down and will be the most boring season ever -

i agree with 99% of what you write and nothing wrong with enjoying winning, however the gloating needs to be toned down a bit. The sport is on its knees and one team thrashing the others doesnt help the sport. The elite league looks like being the most boring it has ever been and the sport as a whole is suffering. The other teams look like a premier league side from about 5 years ago, not the standard of a so called elite league. As i say Ipswich , my team, thrashed everyone in 1998. The racing on the most part was dull with 5-1 after 5-1 and i was one of many who simply didnt bother going to the meetings against much weaker sides when i knew i was going to watch processional racing. The sport itself suffers if one or even 2 teams are so much further ahead than the others. Poole get decent crowds, i know that, but how many are going to bother going to watch Poole rack up 60 points against the majority of sides? I pick and choose my meetings now due to cost and i wont bother watching Ipswich against say Redcar or Rye House , but when Glasgow are in town with that strong top 4 i will be there. Must be the same for Poole if Leicester or Lakeside are there the crowd wont be as big for when Belle Vue are in town -

yes Mark did want to stay at Poole I agree with you and yes he wasn't best pleased. But as I say Tony rode for more money than Mark was offered. Maybe Ford thought Tony was worth more than Mark and being truthful he was. Just don't like people lying that Mark was offered or wanted more than Rickardsson. Everyone has a value -

No Mark didnt price himself out. Norrie Allan asked for more money and Poole turned it down, then they signed Tony for more money than Mark wanted. Exactly. Poole paid Tony more then Mark wanted. Spot on! I dont know much about Poole speedway but as i say i know the Loram family well and i know exactly what happened and Tony was paid more than what Norrie wanted Poole to pay Mark -

foreverblue you know more about Poole speedway than me by a country mile and we all know Starman knows nothing. As I've said before I know the Loram family and his old mechanic Jorge is also a good friend of the family. My uncle used to sponsor Mark at Hackney at Ipswich and a bit at Kings Lynn. We have his race jacket from his epic British Final win in the run off versus Louis. Also Mark came to both my aunty and uncles funerals. Matt Ford is a businessman and a very good one. He pays his riders what he wishes. I can 100% tell you that Mark asked for more money (or should I say Norrie did) and Poole refused to pay it. Mark then wouldn't sign so Poole went and got Tony. I can also tell you that they paid Rickardsson more than what Mark was asking for that is a fact. As I say Foreverblue you know more about Poole speedway than I could ever wish to know but with things to do with Mark I am in the know. The line was that Tony rode for less than Mark wanted. He didn't. -

stop talking out your backside you pillock! Why in gods name would Lakeside or Wolves go for him??? Leicester and other clubs simply sont have the finances available to afford the riders that Poole can which has been the case for years right back to when Rickardsson was offered a fortune to replace Mark Loram. Yes Matt Ford is good at business but get your head out of the arse of your club and realise there are other teams, I'm sure you won't be happy until there is just 1 club left who own every rider. Most Poole fans on here we can take. You are an imbecile -

Shows the true attitude of some Poole fans who no matter what feel the need to gloat when they win. Quite sad really. Speedway is the only loser when one team is so dominant but some can't see past the end of their nose I guess. I'm sure they will be happy when the win another title and the sport is at its lowest ebb for many a year. And this isn't a dig at Poole or the team they have built which is quite within the rules it's the fact that the sport is totally suffering and the more clubs suffer the worst it becomes so the need to gloat doesn't show people in a good light -

Doyle will do the Adams part but like most teams the strength in depth is weak. Poole have a top 5 who are all basically heat leaders, and yes in most other teams in the league Kurtz would fill the third heat leader role. They have the strongest reserve in Newman and the strongest of the number 7's in Ellis. Belle Vue have a top 3 that matches Pooles top 3 and their second strings are marginally weaker and so are their reserves. As I said 2 teams miles clear if the rest and with the standard of riders this looks like being the most mundane of seasons and further evidence how the sport is dying And before I get told Kurtz average isn't a heat leader average them look at the ability of the 3rd heat leader in the other teams. Belle Vue have a stronger top 3 that Kurtz isn't as good as, but all the other sides (maybe apart from Lynn) he is at least on a par with the third heat leader. -

why is it claptrap? The elite league looks between 2 teams who certainly won't get beat at home and win by large margins most weeks. I'm an Ipswich fan and we won the league at a canter in 1998 but we thrashed most teams so wasn't exciting to watch. Poole will thrash most teams at home this season so how can it be interesting? The elite league looks as dull as I have ever seen it. This isn't a dig at Poole at all but I'm sure you and the usual suspects like to twist my words anyway. Oh and Steve O says the racing was boring so which was it? . All I'm saying is it looks like a Poole v Belle Vue final and we have hardly had a wheel turned. Not good for the league is it really you come out with some guff! Enjoy your win enjoy the fact there is only 2 capable teams in the league. If this is how you like the sport then there is no hope. The incredulous bias towards your own side is quite unique -

Elite league absolutr snore fest. 2 teams so much better than the rest. May watch it on the box when it's the inevitable Poole v Belle Vue final.........yawn -
But when will you realise we are not talking about opinions we are talking about stone cold facts. From 1985 onwards Sam Ermolenko has a far superior record to Shawn Moran. That is fact. Ermolenko achieved more Fact. I think Sidney dear old fruit you get confused with who was better to watch rather than who was the better rider. Shawn Moran , on song, in full flow, to me was far more exciting to watch then Ermolenko but wasnt the better rider. Mark Loram Tomasz Gollob Jan O Pedersen Per Jonsson All the above are one of World champs. Out of them i would far rather watch Mark Loram race every time. But put it simply he wasnt as good as the other three. Im just waiting for you to bring up the point that Gollob is better than Nicki Pedersen another laughable claim. Gollob more talented but the better rider as proved by the FACT he is a triple world champion is Nicki you talk some complete rubbish. For what its worth i rate Gollob over Ermolenko but not by miles!! Sam is behind Penhall and Hancock yes. But to say he is behind Autrey, Sigalos and Moran is a load of old crap

This was the original post from the troll that invades our thread all the time slagging off the riders and promotion and before a wheel has been turned has been abusive towards Paco. Go on the Ipswich thread you will see his insults. This was my response to him telling him to leave the forum. For those of you stupid enough my comment about a 4 race maximum from Paco is called tongue in cheek, or sarcasm call it what you want If you would care to explain how ive been made to look an idiot then please enlighten me?? As stated read the posts. I knew full well Paco wouldnt get a maximum it was a dig back at the troll. Jeez some people can not understand English -

Rickardsson was truly a great but in my opinion I would be more excited about a race with Gollob in then TR as I thought you might see a great race. Same scenario back in the day at British Finals when I would look forward to Mark Lorams and Joe Screens races more than Chris Louis or Martin Dugard as an example. TR a great but certainly more anticipation that I was going to see a good race if Gollob was lining up -

You really are a strange individual! Saying its bumpy when the update site classes it as slick. Harris made the most passes but the rest were from Poole riders so you can't really moan about the track!! Oh and Kyle Newman tonight got beat by Bates (twice) Woryna and Sarjeant ( who was awful at Ipswich last night) makes me think that away from home he will be struggling in the 1-5 and is, as we all know, a decent reserve and nothing more -

i agree that he should have to go through qualifiers. However some Poole fans (not yourself) were saying Darcy should have got a wild card after his ban and now say Emil shouldn't I don't get the thought process behind that at all Ward and Emil talent wise are on a par with Woffy but are not as good as him the record books tell you that. Gollob was better to watch than Rickardsson and more natural ability but who was the better rider? Rickardsson all day long. Unfortunatly with the tragic events of Darcy and Emil not riding currently, it means neither Ward or Emil will be remembered in the way Woffy will be. -

Gavan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Garrity is now quite clearly the better rider backed up by the facts. Higher average in the premier league, made the top 4 in the British Final and is in the GB squad. That's not to say Newman can't get to that level he just isn't there yet. The Poole fans who seem to think Newman is better see him just ride at home beating fast track reserves. Newman has the ability to beat Garrity at home but let's talk about this debate when Newman makes a British Final or GP -
Poole didn't do to much wrong last season but I would hazard a guess that 90% of all controversy involves Poole who have pulled off some dodgy dealings in the past. The annoyance to true fans is the win at all costs attitude of some of the fans on here. I don't have a problem with the majority except for the village idiot who wants a 1 team elite league which to be fair isn't far away from happening.

totally agree about Newman to good to be a number 7 in the elite but only just about a heat leader in the premier. Some Poole fans think he is the second coming and is the future of Team GB. Can't see how in anyway Newman can ever make a squad -

Kyle Newman man of the match bit of a joke really. He beat the other reserves on his home track and he is a better rider than both in either league. Oh he also beat Garrity who technically is the same level as Newman so how can he be man of the match didn't beat anyone of any note that he wasn't expected to. Easy for Poole in what is a boring looking league
