  1. as ive said you wont convince him but he is entitled to his opinion. bit stuck in the dark ages. we could with the old style qualifying system have reached a world final this year where due to injuries it wouldnt have had: TAI, SAYFUTDINOV, HOLDER, GOLLOB, LINDGREN, JONSSON, NICKI PEDERSEN. But that would be fine we could have had Dryml and Ulamek and Walasek for example
  2. And those were the 4 i mentioned a while back. Holder Gollob and Laguta were obvious just a toss up between Jonsson and Lindgren
  3. dont agree with you on that. he has failed miserably to even get close to the series. just because he is young doesnt guarantee the right to be in it. Yes he won once but Zmarlik got to a final last year should he be in it? Dont agree with the 'have to have a swede' thinking but i think it will happen. Last place in my eyes should be Laguta
  4. MJJ and Miedzinski won gp's in their home country not sure they would do anything anywhere else. I remember Gerd Riss making gp finals in Germany. Put a gp at Edinburgh and im sure Cookie would do well. You say about token riders but to be fair most people thought that of Tai and to a lesser extent Iversen and look what happened there!
  5. second division in Poland second string in a substandard elite league. based on this rationale then Ben Barker and Lewis Bridger must be in line for one. continual tripe coming from out of your mouth yet again!
  6. Thj not in the top 50! yet there are still some on this forum who think he deserves a wild card lol
  7. what a total fool you really are do us all a favour and keep your mouth quiet if you not got anything decent to say
  8. Dakota North lol on a big ego trip and isnt as good as he thinks he is. Would like to see Barker stay. Not a big hitter like Doyle or Cook but boy do we get some good racing. Rohan should stay but needs to really step into a second heat leader role and put a point on his average. Risager im a bit bored with to be honest. To inconsistent and not moving forward. Although as stated has close links with the Louis family so will probably stay. Cam can develop into the third heat leader role Leigh would be good as a number 2 or 4 in the team. Will Adam stay? Another one who i feel needs to produce a bit more now he has had a full season and he may or may not. Think he would be better as the second reserve. We know Ritchie wont be staying. Let Risager and Hawkins go. As to who can replace them have to wait and see, i have no idea
  9. you cant convince some people Niamh let them live in the dark ages as far as the world title is concerned
  10. The gp is a far far better way of deciding the world champion. Various riders have been injured this season and could have missed qualifying rounds. Imagine a one off final without Holder, Ward, Jonsson, Woffinden, Gollob, Lindgren, Sayfutdinov, Nicki Pedersen. Great spectacle that would be. Yes injury can stop you being champion in the gp series as well. Holder and Sayfutdinov the obvious ones here. But it can also mean you can be injured for a fortnight miss a gp or ride throught the pain barrier and still be world champ. Munich 1989 showed what can happen with a few injuries to key riders
  11. ok lets go back to the old style qualifiers like we used to have. lets say we have a season like this with riders injured for important rounds. thta means you could have (based on this year) a gp season without: HOLDER,SAYFUTDINOV,WARD, WOFFINDEN, GOLLOB, LINDGREN, JONSSON. You cant seriously be happy with that! Look at the World Final in Munich 1989. Most of the top boys were missing through injury. sorry but you are living in the dark ages if you think the current system of picking riders doesnt get you the best line up
  12. do you make a habit of talking out of your derriere! are we talking about THJ the elite league second string? Lindgren has needed wild cards i agree but he is a better rider than Jonasson and so to is Andreas. Dont get the guff about new blood lets just get the best riders we can and Jonasson isnt even close. Good job that Tai and Hampel were given extra chances!!
  13. exactly Niamh and not forgetting Ward who probably would have been top 5 without his injury. in fact the only wild card who struggled was Vaculik and even he had won a gp before. no the best way is have qualifiers and get dross in case people get injured
  14. as much as i admire Freddie as a rider, i think they will go for Jonsson, just my opinion as long as its not Jonasson!
  15. not like pinstripe to be wide of the mark again! Well done Tai
  16. Holder and Gollob nailed on. The other 2 picks will be Jonsson and Laguta i feel. Please no more talk of it being Jonasson lol There will be a swede and i reckon it will be Jonsson over Lindgren though for someone to say Lindgren shouldnt be in it is just talking rubbish. On his day he is one of the top 16 in the world and domestically always near top of the averages. He has had a bad year and suffered with injuries. Personally i wouldnt pick Freddie but then again he could be picked and suprise everyone. Lets be fair if anybody out there predicted this years top 3 then they are lying!
  17. sorry are there reallypeople having a pop at Hancock!!! jeez people! so what Hancock is a gater he pretty much always has been but thats him. Of course someone like Ward is more exciting but until Darcy learns to gate a bit better and/or not overide then he wont achieve anything what Greg has. Takes me back to the late 80's early 90's with Loram, Screen and Louis. Loram and Screen born racers but time after time at the big meetings Louis would gate and beat them. Early on in his career Louis was world number 3 and had won the under 21 title and Mark and Screen nothing yet talent wise Louis was nowhere near them. Mark obviously matured and developed into a world champ and that is something that may take Darcy time. I liken it to snooker Hendry, Davis, John Higgins all boring and steady but compare their records to that of say Alex Higgins or Jimmy White. To much more talented players but not as successful. Long may Hancock continue to show how good he is. Lets see if Emil and Darcy can mature enough to become world champ
  18. the elite league is dying on its arse and will continue to do so when you have clubs like Poole and their promoter who cares not a jot for the sport. my team is in the premier league and basically the racing is much much better and its a better product. ok so the times might be slower but what does that matter
  19. ha ha hahahahahahahahahahahahahah i know lets have a second string in the elite league in ahead of a former world number 2 in 2011 and a guy who is consistently in the top 10 in the gp's and is in the top 5 of the averages over here. you are clueless I think the wild cards should be: Tungate not Holder Hougaard instead of Gollob Holder and Gollob have had their chance and are a bit stale now having won it only once each. Lets get elite league second strings in there liven it up a bit!! you really need to stay off this forum with your idiotic statements
  20. please please please can people get some sense and stop saying Jonasson the man is an elite league second string in a poorish league already! Holder and Gollob are nailed on certaintys. There will be 3 danes and 3 poles so effectively that means no Dudek or MJJ (not good enough) though as world under 21 champ Dudek would get my vote to be honest. There will be a swede so 1 of Freddie or AJ and i would give it to Freddie (again my opinion but the last 2 years has finished above AJ) Last place is a tricky 1 and Harris isnt in the frame. Laguta would add some spice but isnt likely to happen as has burnt a few bridges. Janowski? - to many poles Vaculik is a possible but has stated he wants a year out and he may qualify again and come back stronger. Only 2 aussies so may they be tempted to give Batchelor a try? Dont think they will but its no worse than some. So for me Holder, Gollob, Lindgren and Laguta
  21. Hard choices for wild cards. Holder and Gollob will be in then possibly a swede but please stop talking about it being Thj who clearly is so far from this level may as well pick Cook! Jonsson for me and then 1 other. I don't go with this new blood theory I want to see the top riders in the world and the likes of Mjj Dudek and Magic are simply not better than the likes of Lindgren and Jonsson
