Where Is British Speedway Going.
New Science replied to mc1874's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Dammed if they do Dammed if they don't these promoters ! -
It sounds exactly the same.Whatever it still discriminates against someone's age and the nationality of the license they hold

Belle Vue National Stadium
New Science replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Baring in mind the project is already 3 years late and already £1.3 million over budget maybe we should save all the back slapping until its actually built ! -
How come the Poles insist on every team having 2 Polish reserves under 21 in the Polish top division if this anti-discrimination exists. This rule doesn't exist, if it did how come riders have had a reduction in their elite league average for simply being British.

31/05 Prague Speedway Gp
New Science replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
We don't want utopia but a simply track that is worthy of a world championship event,a track that gives the best riders in the world a chance to race, not simply a gating competition. Speedways apologists need to get real,we are in the entertainment business and in the last 2 GP'S we have seen precious little. We all except when there is inclement weather that it can affect track preparation.but when the weather is good there is little excuse.People are paying top dollar to watch these events and I think those fans that attended the last 2 GP's have short changed. -
31/05 Prague Speedway Gp
New Science replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I watch every GP religiously but afraid last night after watching the first 4 heats I went back to the cricket which was terrific, then more worryingly watched Britains Got Talent.Sorry to say there was nothing to watch in Prague, suspect I wasn't the only one reaching for the remote. -
You should be BSI press officer ! Go on tell us !
-
Doesn't speedway live in a perverse world ? We have a track that is the best in the world but we can't get any punters in to watch it and we have a new venue with a decent crowd where we can't produce a track which provides anything like a decent race ! Go Figure !
-
Fortunately most people on here 'are fussed' and can see the bigger picture, interested in the sport as a whole not just the results of their favourite rider !
-
You called it before it happened mate ! When we we get a good temporary track Ole Olsen is lauded as the best in the business when its awful its always nothing to do with us blame the locals !
-
I should check your source on the ticket sales Phil, more spin than Shane Warne

Interesting that over 50% of Polish speedway fans see the spat between BSI and Onesport as the reason for the pitiful attendance in Bydgoszcz but the Speedway Star fails to even consider this factor in its enquiry into why the attendance was so low.No Gollob, bad weather, basketball (yawn),Bydgoszcz being relegated and now even questioning after one poor crowd whether 3 GP,s in Poland is too many ? Well swerved guys ! To not acknowledge a possible rift between BSI,FIM and the Polish supporters is insulting our intelligence, read the Polish speedway forums it may open your eyes !
-
You may not care about the crowd but unfortunately a lack of crowd may have repercussions for the GP as we know it.If the bottom has fallen out of BSI's most lucrative market Poland there will be some major anxiety at BSI towers. With 3 rounds in Poland and the staging fees and sponsorship it brings in it shows the urgency required to get the issues between all parties sorted and quickly, not simply ignore it, or pretend its not there as Mr Rising chooses to do.As for blaming the lack of the Gollob factor, well that ship has sailed,he's in his 40's and not coming back to the GP,move on !

Think we all knew from the advance ticket sales Phil that something was amiss here and was not the "pretty much par" that you described.I think you and the rest of the speedway world know the reason for a one off pitiful attendance in Poland has everything to do with the politics that exist between,FIM,OneSport and BSI and not the non appearance of a Polish rider.Pretending to look the other way does you a disservice as a journalist.
