  1. Given rider availability is going to be a huge issue right across Europe I think any kind of meetings including open ones will be the way forward once things are up and running again. Itll be upto the riders where they wish to earn their bread but yes most will just want to see any kind of racing.
  2. Absolutely spot on the social and mental fallout of people possibly older folk starving or freezing to death in their own homes could have implications for many many years to come.
  3. Personally if it's over in a month or so we may be ok. Up to 6 months or a year of disruption I think speedway like many other businesses will go to the wall. The government cant just print an endless pot of money otherwise hyper inflation will kick and it'll probably cost you about 50 quid or more to get into a meeting. The cost alone of a basic bailout will have severe consequences in years to come. We could be looking at 25 percent income tax and vat.
  4. I think we all hope we are wrong regarding Crump, however I just feel he has been out of the sport way too long. Perhaps the theory is if the other 6 riders give an extra 5 per cent then it may cover for any deficiencies that Crump may have such as fitness and State of mind having been out for so long. And IF this goes wrong then who do we turn to then?
  5. I think next week's weather forecast is a shocker. Anyway I want the 2nd leg at home so we can celebrate the league title in front of our own ,even if we don't win then let's build on it next season!
  6. Surely if its possible and I don't think there is any stock cars on Saturday 24th , but that date could produce a huge home crowd for the 2nd leg?
  7. I'm guessing it may be the second leg on the 17th at home with Swindon off tonight and be restaged next Thursday.
  8. Surely we have then to assume then that first leg of final is 10th then second leg is 14th ?
  9. Are we assuming that because of the wolves rain off then the final might be week beginning 14tb October?
  10. It is the sort of character in this team that might just, and I use the word "just' see us to the title. The great thing is that opposition teams worry about us now rather than the other way round!
  11. I was there last night and wow, what a stunning witches performance it was. It seems like every meeting we look like we are 'on one' and determined to win every time. Peterborough just didn't not have an answer to it. On another note how on earth do they get away with a fiver for a burger and 4.70 for a lager?
  12. A win is a win and to do it when considerably under strength shows great character in the team. If we have 7 fit riders and they all fire together then someone could get a hiding.
  13. Well put, I have to say after being at Peterborough last week the team seemed to have a real togetherness and determination that the home team couldn't match. I think we should enjoy the fact that we are 3 points clear at the top of the league and compost corner are bottom lol, let's enjoy it as long as it lasts and lets remember this fantastic start to the season gives us a great chance of making the play offs!
  14. A comfortable win albeit by 6 points and clearly King and Bellego still having issues. Just one point, now we all know the no one wants a meeting being dragged out especially when it's cold, however are these meetings being pushed through just a little on the quick side? barely time to draw breath between races.
  15. An outstanding performance from all 7 Ipswich riders. All this tosh about a weak side for God's sake givem a chance before we slate people after a couple of meetings. We put the arch enemy to the sword, what more do people want.
  16. As far as I am concerned there is no such thing as a 'friendly' against your arch enemies. I hope the riders are fired up for it as a morale boosting win could bode well for the rest of the season.
  17. With short responses like that have you considered becoming a member of parliament? It's decisive I'll give you that lol
  18. So come April 4th it's the first proper meeting with the old enemy for 17 years, with the follow up at compost corner on the 15th. Not much been said but I guess most have ( well l have) missed these encounters over the years. Do people on here think that the derby matches both home and away will have the same intensity as they did many years ago?
  19. You're bargain basement junk sounds like my barrel with a hole in the bottom. However I'm keeping optimistic until we see the final seven. If it's good that's fine and if it's naff and we are holding up the rest of the league, then whatever we say on here people will vote with their feet.
  20. Having a good side and an out and out number 1 really could put bums on seats. I remember going to compost corner a few years back for sayfutinovs debut for Coventry, buster had to delay the start to let everyone in. However like a lot on here I fear the barrel we are scraping no longer has a bottom!
  21. Thanks for the update, just one last question why doesn't Pearson and co run a premiership side out of Monmore or Perry Barr? Presumbably it's just down to cost?
  22. What's the current situation with new track? As an Ipswich fan we've got kings Lynn back we just need you lot back in the top flight now, surely there must be somewhere in the black country available.
  23. And it's worth considering that if the divorce from the EU is a messy one then some riders from Europe may not get work here if the country adopts a twit for tat policy.
  24. Are franz leitner and Andre pollehn available LMAO coz that's where we will probably set our sights.
