  1. Sequence going there... Looking forward to 2055 for the next one then Martin Glad the Brummies won, after the despair of last year. They were the best team this season & Phil Morris certainly knows his onions
  2. Agree, was flying at the start of the season for Lakeside. Disappointed with him today; reckon he needs a bit more fire in his belly ATM. Hopefully he can find it again for Glasgow in the play-offs
  3. Great meeting, also disappointed with the crowd Thought the new Raiders team manager was excellent last night. Felt sorry for The Raiders, but great to see the Kings lift their first trophy, especially the legend that is Danny Ayres
  4. Seems the Coventry promotion are just reactive, and fair play they generally react well; but they need to have more foresight and plan ahead Eastbourne looked at the forecast & yesterday put the start time forward 4hrs & packed the track
  5. Quite enjoy his cheesy to and fros with the guy in the box Was also surprised the meeting continued after ht.11 - but I wouldn't argue with Margaret Vardy, she looked quite fierce. Reminded me of the old days riding around on slop & getting completely filled in. Strange incident in Ht.14: Luke Chessell's helmet caught in the tapes, as they were loose and went up slower in the middle. Ref seemed to miss that one and let the race continue with Luke stuck at the back A great day out at, probably, the most scenic track in the world
  6. Should go NL with Worky, Redcar & Scunny - Great product at a decent price. Fewer guests/ team changes - prefer it to EL & PL this year. Hopefully if more clubs join, it can be like the NL of the 70's/80's at a level half way between current PL/NL
  7. Don't think results regarding the TR are quite so streight forward. An 8-1/7-2 especially shifts the momentum toward the team doing the chasing, and can put the leading team on the backfoot, thus effecting future heat results
  8. Might find it tough at Easty, but will do the job in the return
  9. Don't miss it, Danny Ayres is like Jason Garrity on acid
  10. Jack Smith is a great signing or guesting! - Will secure the title for the Brummies Eagles will win all the other trophies
  11. Sarjeant definitely anticipated the start, as you need to take into account his reaction time, which would've been an impossible zero in this instance Personally, although I find it annoying, I'm all in favour of referees re-running a race when a rider anticipates or rolls at the start If a rider has tough opponents or a tough gate position, then the risk is minimal. If ignored, those who play fair or have more to lose are penalised Reckon referees should give a warning for a 1st offence & 15m for the second. I find it annoying when they re-run an unsatisfactory start and don't warn anyone: inevitably the same rider will try it again at some point during the meeting
  12. Free holiday in Aus awaits the three qualifiers; expect some great racing, should be fighting tooth & nail for this
  13. From what I've seen this season, Luke Chessell is an excellent captain: puts the team first, often at the expense of himself, helps the younger lads & the team spirit among all the Raiders is superb - one of the better captains IMO
  14. Understand Lambert wanting to renegotiate his contract as a heat leader. If he gets paid for points, he will, no doubt, be getting LESS pay, as points will be harder to come by. He will have been penalised for doing his job, whilst others haven't Robert should at least get the same(ish) pay as before. Agree that the converse should happen to Kenny Bjerre Seem to remember NKI saying, last year, that if he knew how much harder it was to score points under the new format, he would of renegotiated his contract at the start of the season - quite reasonable IMO
  15. Yes, but afternoon start, so would of had to set off the previous day. Can't see any Czech fixtures on 31st!
  16. http://www.fim-europe.eu/events/106 Click on "Individual Speedway U21" to see the result - came 6th!
  17. Agree MrMungo, think he's been a great team manager for the Aces, riders seem to have a lot more fire in their bellies this season
  18. Stevie Worrall & Stefan Nielsen looked excellent on Monday, big improvements from last season; seem the fast track has done it's job. Guess having the experience of Scott & Matej really helps these guys
  19. Meeting was a Euro U-21 in Debrecen, Hungary: start time 3pm GMT - not the easiest place to get to, so fair enough on this occasion
  20. NL is the way to go for most clubs. Lower costs, still great racing, all be it at a lower level. Guests only for No.1, unless a novice not under contract at reserve. Great watching the youngsters improve over the season Think a system like the 70s/80s BL & NL would be a good idea If there is to be an EL next season, possibly 6 clubs, reckon it should be once only home & away, with same clubs having a PL or NL team. Big meetings held twice a month & should be something special
  21. Agree; seems like they want to enforce the status quo - Very sad
  22. Interesting, wonder which promoter Matt Ford's good friends with!
  23. Exit Chafford Hundred station on your RIGHT & go down the stairs to the shopping centre - hope to see you there, enjoy
  24. Good crowd & excellent match - great to watch Darcy Ward again, different class. Amazing how quickly one forgets just how talented he is 1st race last to first, lifted off T4 & AJ took the win 2nd race team rode a slow Batch to a 5-1 & great defence against Eddie Kennett. His team riding into the first turn is superb 3rd race great overtake on Eddie & unbeaten in his last 2 Turn 2 was catching all the riders out at some point during the match, just drifting too wide; except Darcy always in full control The guy is awesome ...and to think I'll have the pleasure of watching him again at Lakeside tonight. Lucky Robins fans can watch him for the rest of the season Special mention to Eddie Kennett, who has had a superb July for House & Lakeside; had another great meeting tonight
