Falcon Hammer replied to Brummiestormer's topic in National League Speedway
Brilliant at Friday at Lakeside, even rode the inside when he needed too. Announced you were watching him last night & had 2 falls in the first 2! Bang on form in the last 3 tho, so I may be wrong Enjoy your visit back in the UK -

Hope Johnny the Spud's not staying over & watching Adam at Lakeside a week on Monday - Bad influence IMO -
hammers66 you don't need to drive to Lakeside, there is a train from London, which stops at Chalfont Hundred & then a 15min walk via the shopping centre & entrance to the track is near the go-kart track. I occasionally make this trip from North London when I don't fancy driving Only 3 home fixtures left this season, get yourself down there, you'll love it, way better live

Fair enough westhamboy. He was all over the place in his first 2/3 heats, but looked a lot better later on; maybe nerves. At least he gave 100%, no doubt about the effort. Good luck to the lad

Eddies on fire, Nikolajs in the points, if the other 4 ride half a lap faster we could get something out of this -

Can't believe Tai estimates his expenses at £350K per annum. Wonder where speedway's going wrong! -
Somerset And The Confederate Flag
Falcon Hammer replied to drvortexz's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Thanks for the history lesson White Knight, hope another flag gets banned, and you can educate me some more When I was a nipper I remember disliking Gordon Kennett because I saw him on the cover of the Star with Confederate flag on his Oxford race jacket & thought he was a white supremacist?!? Reckon I'd recently watched the film "In the Heat of the Night" -

Notes from the Scunthorpe programme 02/05/77 Re: their match at Edinburgh 22/04/77 In heat one Bert Harkins clearly broke the tapes which were left strung along the safety fence. Then we discovered that there were no telephone at the starting line. A phone call to the referee Mr Jack Cuthbert after the race had finished brought forth the answer, "the tapes were not broken at all" In heat two Mal Chambers broke the tapes, the race was stopped and the red exclusion light was displayed. Shortly afterwards it was turned off and then turned on again which prompted Mr Neil MacFarlane, Edinburgh team manager, to phone the referee and persuade you should reinstate Chambers - which he did! His explanation to us was that Chambers should now not be excluded because Mr MacFarlane had explained to him that Chambers did not really intend to break them but had developed a mechanical fault with his machine In heat three Jack Millen broke the tapes which were again left dangling over the track - no exclusion and the explanation that Mr Cuthbert had no idea who broke them! Probably hardly able to believe his luck Millen again broke the tapes in the five - no exclusion and a comment from the referee that he knew best, he could see best, and a comment to stop protesting every time the tapes were broken and nobody was excluded In heat 11 Dave Baugh clearly broke the tapes - all four riders were allowed in the re-run and in view of the referees instructions to us we did not bring this to his attention In general refereeing has improved!

King's Lynn V Lakeside 25th June 19.45
Falcon Hammer replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thought it was right that Lambert was excluded. Was going for a gap, which closed & just got caught in a sandwich. Unlucky, but right decision IMO. Milik was excellent, tough old school 100% Czech fighter, Stars fans are going to get plenty of entertainment for the rest of the season -
