For or against team suits
Jonny the spud replied to Booey boy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I paid £350 for a racesuit in an auction at the end of last season, the money didn't matter as it went to a rider to help towards this season. It was however pointed out that I paid more than the suit cost brand new. Anyone paying £1,000+ for a suit is either a fool or has convinced some other fool to pay for it. -
Great, 99% of riders have their covers and kevlars sorted, I wonder how many have lost out on sponsorship as there's been no TV announcement ? You really have to wonder how a sport can continuously shoot itself in the foot......... Then shoot itself in the other foot just to be sure?

2018 Celebration of Speedway
Jonny the spud replied to Dave Stummings's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
What a shame, I find myself in the UK and only about 5 miles from paradise park. Unfortunately I have to visit my father in hospital tomorrow but was hoping to get back in time to take some of this in only to find that it closes at 4pm !! A celebration that only goes on for 6 hours. Not much of a party ? -
Lot of English names there .....

2018 Premiership Predictions
Jonny the spud replied to Gavan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Can’t you all predict Swindon for the wooden spoon ? It worked last year. -
Most British riders can’t compete with foreigners in terms of equipment as sponsorship seems so hard to come by in the UK. Until a foreign rider turns up that that is and then his bike will be covered in British sponsors. Sigh

If it’s that much of a dead cert, when are you opening? you can retire with your millions and say “I told you so” hell you you could even franchise it throughout the country.

Oooh. My very own stalker. Yup. You have no need to communicate with adults. Best stick to your school mates

You’re not stating a fact you’re stating an opinion. Get your teacher to explain the difference. Now toodle off off and do your homework there’s a good boy.

Shhhh. The grown ups are talking. Try another thread.

Well he was an integral part of the team that won the league last year and beat your team five times, I’d say that’s worth something?

David Bellego Any Takers?
Jonny the spud replied to ReadingRacer2017's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hes a very good ultra professional rider. He was being slagged off at the start of the year but turned out to be one of the main guys during the season. His form slipped mostly to mechanical issues which Im sure will be sorted Would love to see him back at Swindon -
Someone does !

I've dislocated the left one three times and the right one twice. The right one popped 2 years ago while doing a bit of DIY, Adam's popped out earlier this season reaching to catch a tennis ball. Shoulders are a bugger.

Peter Collins Article
Jonny the spud replied to keepturningleft's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Nothing wrong with a free drink or two, but when he wants to invite 100 mates every week ? I employ 50-60 people in three different bar / restaurants, they're hardworking and help me to be where I am today. The deal is when they turn up at one of my bars their first drink is on the house and subsequent drinks at a reduced rate. If they turned up with a group of mates expecting freebies the answer's no. -
Sorry. Edited it

With a GM you know what you're getting, information is readily available. As I said. In speedway if you don't score you're out if a job. The grass track rider was English. Riding on smaller English tracks. My point was if you're selling a new product and trying to attract standard riders, don't hide info on how to get it running right
-
Therein lies the problem. Freddie, therefore Marcel too knew the optimum settings to get the engine running competitively but refused to share them. They were trying to sell the engine to riders without providing adequate set up info, leaving them wasting time and money chasing set ups. Which in a results based sport can mean you're out of a job if you don't score. Many people (me included) spent thousands on a product and then sold it and bought another GM which we knew would do the job. I've already seen tuned GTR's with different cams competing on the grass in international meetings so even the "don't need to tune them" line has gone out of the window.
-
Anyone who knows how to set them up isn't passing on info. In a sport where if you don't score you don't get paid, riders can't afford to cock up meetings hoping to get it right. The power drops off big time after a while. Hence not a lot of riders are willing to take the risk
-
I've had fans of at least 5 clubs ask me about rumours, i don't know where he's riding . I don't think anyone does ( him included) till after the AGM.
