  1. Was he though? Flattered to deceive most of the season, apart from a purple patch mid season. His averaged was certainly helped by riding at times with the great Leigh Adams.
  2. Matt Ford took the time to speak in front of the Somerset crowd to explain the reasons for the depleted Poole side last night. He has also promised that he will bring a full strength Pirates team for the 2016 opening match at the OTA.
  3. Charlie's finger looked horrible. No update as yet but I do fear a lengthy lay off for him.
  4. Thanks Cityrebel. I'm rather envious now! Was the track similar in size to Plymouth?
  5. Can anyone explain exactly where The Trelawney trach was please? I didn't have the pleasure of ever watching speedway in that area but keen to know where it actually was. Cheers. Apologies. I meant track!
  6. Rye looked a poor outfit last season. The Rebels look play off material this year.
  7. I think the Rebels fans will disagree with you there! Fantastic win for Somerset.
  8. Thought I saw you at P&P at the OTA yesterday Jenga. Someone told me you were enquiring about a season ticket? Good lad, all the way from Worky every Friday? Now that is commitment.
  9. I actually attended the first ever meeting (and the last) at Smallmead as a school boy. It was in my eyes at the time, a brilliant new track, just down the road from swindon where I lived at the time and had exciting kiosks dotted around the stadium selling such things as bottles of coke and such like! The track seemed to be an excellent shape, the crowds in the early days were very good too. The covered back straight and viewing area for the pits made it a stadium I always looked forward to visiting. I didn't go to speedway in the 80's or the 90's but retuned in 2006, where I visited Smallmead again for the first time in 20 odd years. I got the shock of my life! It was a run down ramshackle of a place and within a year or so had been flattened. Very sad. But holds some fond memories for me.
  10. Yep, passport required for Scotland Orlovski.
  11. He's similar to Gavan on the Poole thread....(only to be fair to Jenga he doesn't do the personal insults as Gavan does)
  12. And more than likely at Somerset, Sheffield, Workington and generally the bigger tracks around the PL.
  13. A decent Devils side will like everywhere, bring the crowds in. Plymouth have a huge catchment area and has great potential for big crowds. I visited the SBA a year or so ago when the team were struggling and riding against an average Glasgow side, yet there was still a very healthy attendance.
  14. Crumpy was pure class and a constant thorn in the Swindon side in the middle 70's during his Newport days. Almost unbeatable around Somerton Park. Redford was a brilliant informative announcer. Probably the best I have experienced. Best of British to both for a speedy recovery.
  15. They might take some stopping around the SBA, but away from home they look like they will be vulnerable and there for the taking unfortunately.
  16. Have to agree Sid. The Shay was superb, but saw Mike Keen badly injured there. Equally, riders like Geoff Bouchard who were prepared to put their back wheel in the dirt would succeed. Think I saw Geoff score 16 points there one Saturday night in the 70's.
  17. aa A shocking history of poor judgement too. A massive risk for any club to sign him.
  18. Ahh Jenga, it's been all of 5 days since you were on this thread. No chance of our party being ruined by Mr Ford. Matt gets along just fine with Somerset speedway. See you on the 27th March when Rebels entertain the Pirates.
