  1. Colin does do the fixtures, and it is difficult for promoters, but to have most Thursdays in April May June early July blank, just 5 home meetings in the last 14 Thursdays, and then cram in loads in the last 8 weeks of the season is not showing consideration for the fans. Just have a three month season then. With football starting again soon a lot of peeps won't be able to attend all the home fixtures. No future for the current Premier set up.
  2. Thorsell would be the only replacement near to Jason. Good luck to him for a speedy recovery.
  3. So was I, has swung towards the Vue now, hopefully wont derail Swindon's season with busy schedule ahead.
  4. Swindon have to cram in at least 19 meetings between now and early Sept, 10 at home. We've only had 6 home meetings so far. Crazy fixture planning.
  5. I see no reason they can't avenge the 46-44 home defeat on the opening night of the season. The Aces won easier than the scoreline, but with The Robins now at full strength after beating Wolves in a battling display, and Adam and Zach at reserve will go 46-44 to those rip-roaring rockin red Robins.
  6. The season finally gets going on Thursday, tough home match against Belle Vue, then back up to Manchester the following night, 5 matches in 8 days. 9 home league matches to come, then fitting in KO Cup meetings home and away, Wolves, Belle Vue, Somerset the other semi-finalists. A lot will depend on Jason's fitness and the weather.
  7. Not forgetting the great Briggo, Broady, and Marlborough born Ashby, and Swindonians Kilby and Holloway, roads on the new development named after these two local legends, plus the care home in Richardson Road, named after Lee, and Malone Road.Swindon Robins held in great affection in the Town, as I discovered when moving here from souf London, having supported Wimbledon and New Cross. Fantastic bunch of fanatical but sporting fans from Wiltshire and surrounding counties.
  8. Varies between 1000-2500, average around 1400, falling annually. Dont know how many actually pay admission.Would say most live outside Swindon, attract fans from up to 60 miles away, Southampton, Bristol, Bath, Basingstoke, Reading, Oxford, Gloucester, Cheltenham, south Wales etc., next nearest teams Somerset and Poole, over 70 miles away. Most local people would not attend but most seem to be in favour of Speedway, even my muvver in law who lives in a care home a few hundred yards away. Swindon population around 220000, has doubled in 50 years, when most people worked in the railway factories.Used to be Europe's fastest growing place. Plenty of employment, lots of people move here for the affordable housing then commute east down the M4. A large number of residents not born in Swindon, was once overspill town for Londoners, explains the soulless estates like Basingstoke, Andover, Banbury, Milton Keynes, Peterborough, Northampton etc.,
  9. I just fear for anyone wearing purple pants at Blunsdon, will be dragged into the bogs for a dunking by the back straight bog crew.
  10. We like to win in Knobland every 8 years or so. Still 100% record against them in Grand Finals.
  11. Danny/Dany is such a rare sight at Blunsdon people are not sure how to spell his name now.
  12. Totally ridiculous schedule, will alienate even more fans. The loyal 1000 diehards will always turn up, then you have at least another 1000 fair weather fans who show for the bigger meetings and when its warm. They could become regulars if there's a new stadium.Hopefully Doyley and Morra will be back soon or they can forget playoffs. We have only had 5 home league meetings and 1 cup and we're in July!
  13. Wont be decided until early Sept. If Swindon win all their 5 home matches in 14 days can scrape into top 4. Belle Vue and Wolves look certs, Poole, Lynn, Swindon for other 2 spots.
  14. We need to beat them after losing 46-44 last time.
  15. Been reading the Star since the 60s, excellent magazine, my bruv in Adelaide has only just finished reading the bumper edition. Long may it continue.
  16. If Doyley and Morra had been riding the Wolves wouldn't have got a point, The Robins nearly always pull clear in last 3 heats due to those two. Good to see Dave B back on fire, and two powerful reserve performances from Adam and Zach keeps improving. Great work by those rip-roaring Robins.
  17. Cookie should be higher, where's Lawson? Batch is on fire at mo. Can see Doyley overtaking Freddie.
  18. Battling scrapping Robins, you can never write them off. As big a shock result as the win at Poole. Can scrape into the play offs if they win all those home matches end of August In Rosco We Trust.
  19. I was told he had a dodgy curry in Rodbourne. Whatever would have been ridiculously one-sided hence the gap at number 2. I may even go along to this one now, more of a match.
  20. Swindon still weaker with number 2 and 3 in Premier averages out, Wolves stronger. Will go 50-42 to Wolves.
  21. Haven't been for a while so perhaps the new stadium is now in place. Perhaps it was delivered and clicked into place at the weekend.
