  1. Quite simple. Knowing the club and its promotion well. The last time the team failed to perform was 2009. Poole fans know how the club works and Matt Ford has already started his team for 2018. You can be sure it will be a very good team that will challenge for honors. It's what Poole do, isn't it?
  2. Cook one win away from a GP place in 2018. Come on Cook. Bang it in.
  3. They havent called it off yet but seriously torrential rain. Looks like back at 6pm for an update.
  4. Woryna doesn't ride in Sweden at this time. And to be honest watching it on Premier, it doesn't look like it is dripping in cash. In fact I would go as far as to say with the riders in the Swedish league, it looks completely unsustainable. If Poland insist that riders can only ride in one other country then the UK may well be the place for young Polish riders to try to head to gain experience.
  5. Then the answer is don't read and come and debate on this thread. Simple!
  6. If a superb signing for 2018 is officially announced we shouldn't debate it?
  7. Just a very small taste of Woryna last week riding against "reserves". Semi final. 38 mins 30 secs. Against "reserves" Doyle, Laguta and Holta. Final. Go to 40mins 47secs. Against "reserves" Madsen, Zmarzlik and Dudek. Gavan clearly doesn't watch Polish speedway to realise just how good young Woryna is. Talking about making himself look a pillock. Lol! Drabik also rides as a Polish reserve. Lambert rides in the Polish Third division. Polish reserves like Drabik and Woryna are used to replace top 5 team members during meetings all the time. Perhaps Gavan should watch last Sundays Ribnik v Torun Extraleague meeting where Woryna, (who Gavan thinks is nowhere near as good as Lambert) sees off the Torun team.
  8. No dispair from me. We were never going to challenge the moment KK showed no interest. If Swindon win it well done to them! Surely they can't possibly lose it now? Twelve in a row? What could possibly go wrong? Time for the champagne to be popped?
  9. Musiliak has made such a difference. From also rans to Champions with one swap out.
  10. Absolutely. He will get to the Harris / Nicholls standard I am sure.
  11. I don't think it helped Kyle very much for his partner to throw a major wobbly on social media when Kyle lost his place. Always better to say nothing or just say you are disappointed and hope to be back in the future no matter how you are feeling then let a close family member run wild on twitter/facebook. That would have done Kyle no favours at all. I was just using those riders as an example. You can pick out the ones in the Poole team without me naming them.
  12. Absolutely. No MadsK, Llung, Sedgmen etc. What highly rated Poles were in that then?
  13. Matt Ford told the Polish league to stuff off when they phoned him earlier this season. I don't see him changing his view.
  14. Stick Dan Bewley in a race with Drabik and Woryna and see where he finishes. A distant third. Bewley looks a real talent but is way behind thosevtwo and could end up as another Robert Lambert. Hope not though.
  15. What is very important and a trap I believe the Poole promotion fell into this season, is of journeymen. Riders who have reached their limit of ability and make a living from it by maximising their earning potential. This is of course a common sense approach by the riders concerned, of which their are many, but these riders will rarely win a championship for the clubs they represent. To these riders it is a job, the same as any other job. Clearly its a risky job but riders can somewhat lessen the risk by staying out of trouble and riding as safe as they can whilst clearly at the same time have the threat of being ploughed in to. A rider can cover three leagues, have a 7.5 average through his gating ability and earn a good wage. Want to stick another point on his average? That is risk. Risk of making a pass which could see the rider in the fence. Which means weeks out and no money coming in. Better to sit in second and take the two points, or in third behind your team mate for a paid second. Only if last does the rider need to do something about it. And that's if he is only on points money. If he is on wages, he is being paid anyway so why risk his neck and be on the sidelines? By doing this a speedway career can continue into the riders late 30's, when finally nerves get the better of them. And I believe we ended up with journeymen in 2017. What we need is young, aggressive riders desperate to improve, alongside a couple of top riders who do take the risks when required. Pretty sure Matt is well aware of this.
  16. No idea. I do know that Mich Horton was not going to use him if Coventry had run this year as he didn't rate the lad. Perhaps that shows his ability to spot talent. I watched Woryna's scoring for Coventry and while he struggled at times there were flashes of talent and it's ignited big time this season with three points on his average in the toughest league in the world. Woryna, along with Maxim Drabik, are both very young precocious talents and the next two top Poles to join the ever increasing ranks of Polish superstars. We just have no one like them.
  17. Should be 4 and a bit. That's his average from when he rode for Coventry. Same as Swindon used for Musiliak.
  18. Absolutely stonking signing! Well done Matt Ford. Woryna is a simply stunning talent and watching him race this year in Poland has been special. Even last night he showed Zmarzlik the way home in the pairs and has been banging in big scores nearly every week in the Polish top flight. And only 19 years old. Destined for the GPs in the next couple of years imo. Get in there!
  19. Clearly the league structure and team rules have already been dicussed/mapped out/decided as riders are already being signed for 2018.
  20. He will get a great reception, but I hope he doesn't get a good score!
  21. Super ride by what looks like Poole's new 2018 signing Kacper Woryna. On a 4 and a bit average as well.
  22. Yes got to be a Poole win. I don't see Leicester stealing a win from us as we start to build a bit of confidence. Looking to the return of Kyle who is bound to get a very good reception.
