  1. Didn't realise just how close the two tracks are. I drove past the turning for Beaumont Leys and 25 minutes later I was outside Brandon. If Coventry don't run Leicester is very close to watch some racing. Clearly it won't be the same but better than nothing. Trouble is that its not the same as watching your own club though you could support the oppostion. In the whole I have always looked forward to my trips to Brandon due to the quite intense rivalry and this will be sorely missed if Coventry don't run.
  2. Trouble is he doesn't understand the difference between an opinion and trolling. If he doesn't agree with it, its trolling. Yet he got pulled up on here this morning for coming onto the Poole thread and slagging off our riders in Aus. Lisa-Collette summed it up perfectly and now she is under attack from him as she has sussed him completely out. If it wasn't trolling, then why didn't he go on the somerset thread to criticise Tungate? Gavans hatred of all things Poole wreck the Poole thread as he takes every opportunity to dig the knife in. He is bound to get a reaction and when it comes he starts throwing abuse and name calling at other forum members. Lisa is the latest. He does it to me I report it to the mods. Simple. Certainly never going to get into any kind of conversation with him.
  3. Wouldn't give up yet, but the fans should really be kept in the loop. So why did workmen go into Brandon between Christmas and New Year to tidy up? Did Sandhu send them in, realising the vandalism caused looked very bad and a tidy up might not look so bad if it came to court? If the place now has no floodlights, how can speedway run? New lighting would cost a small fortune. I suppose lighting can be brought in every week and powered from centre green generators but hiring is not cheap, especially with the amount of light required to light up the speedway track to an acceptable level.
  4. Oh dear your turn for the trolls bile. He has been caught out on here and you are now a face for him to vent his venom. Lol. Pretty sure you can handle it. But he has overstepped the mark with me so I have reported him for his abusive posts. I don't tolerate people calling others names on here. Its meant to be a discussion forum and people like Gavan bring the place down to an unacceptable level with his constant moronic attacks.
  5. At this time the club has no owner, and therefore no money. Surely rather than no speedway at all, a few people could get together and run a NL team on the old track. This would surely be preferrable to having no speedway at all. The costs would be minimal in comparison to taking on a top flight team in a stadium which has so far proved to be too expensive to run. Can you understand now why I suggested this? I don't believe the idea is unwarranted at all and needs to be considered.
  6. Gloating? Are you truly mad? Why on earth would I gloat over the demise of a club? I said it was terrible news and it is. The very respected Gordon Pairman has just pulled the plug on his efforts to run Belle Vue. I believe its a complete smokescreen to say he is out of the country in January. That might have been a decent excuse years ago but you can be in complete contact in the middle of the Atlantic. It doesnt matter where you are if you have a phone signal as facetime and Skype work just fine. Why would he need to be in the room? More than likely he didn't like what he saw and pulled the plug. I do hope for Belle Vues sake that there are others who are willing to spend, by the sound of it, vast amounts of money to get the club back on an even keel. Unwarranted? Are people on here not allowed to have an opinion on what is going on at Belle Vue? Pairman pulling out is clearly worth debating. Too many on here trying to be politically correct and afraid of speaking out on an issue. If you think Pairman pulling out is good news then fair enough. Pairman pulling out. Belle Vue's options getting smaller with the clock ticking. I hope that something can be sorted but the season starts in about 8 weeks time with the fixture list published in a couple of weeks. Time for this preferred option to get his hands in his pockets and cough up the readies.
  7. Terrible news for Belle Vue. Looking pretty desperate right now. Feel sorry for the fans and the riders who need to get fixed up. Is the track next door still there? Running a NL team at the old track might be a solution?
  8. Doesn't fit his trolling agenda. Absolutely in a nutshell you have summed him up perfectly. Has he posted on the Somerset thread about how badly Tungate has done today? He was desperately eager to come on here and report how badly our two were doing. You are so spot on with your please do badly post. His post proved just how much of a troll on the Poole threads he is as most Poole fans are not bothered by these meetings as they are pretty meaningless to what transpires in our league and anyone with speedway knowledge knows this. He'll be back soon with some disparaging post about me but we all know what he is. The only good news is I won't read it as he's blocked unless quoted.
  9. With this winter being so benign there has been nothing to hold up the construction of this new stadium. No snow, not much rain, no bitter winds. A bit of frost but that wouldn't stop construction from taking place. Since the end of last season Blunsdon has seen two or three guys, a portacabin and their joint offorts have seen some metal cages filled with pebbles. In Ten weeks. No groundworks, no marking out, nothing. Questions now need to be asked. The Advertiser should start an investigation into exactly is actually going on here. They are clearly completely taking the p*ss and the token three men in a portacabin to pretend something is going on just doesn't wash. Time for the Swindon fans to start shouting about this. Loudly.
  10. Well there might have been gypsies in the car park or bulldozers so better to report nothing going on than something more sinister.
  11. Ok I turned left to the stadium. Dear oh dear knitpicking. There was a white van parked in the stadium and wooden giraffes at the country store/garden centre at the roundabout opposite tgi Fridays . The underpass is now open at the pain in the butt roundabout when heading towards Warwick. Proof enough? Lol!
  12. Just got back. From Brandon. I had some business today in Grantham and came back via Leicester, Coventry, M40, A34, and found myself at the tgi Friday roundabout at the bottom of Binley Woods. So I turned right and went a mile up the road to have a look for myself. The place is completely closed up. No one home. Barriers to car park locked up so couldn't see anything. Thought I would pass on this completely useless piece of information.
  13. Starman I really don't understand your problem with Belle Vue's NSS. It far superior in every aspect to every other track and stadium in the country. You come across as bitter about it. Not sure why. The track is the best by the proverbial mile with brilliant racing most of the time. The main stand is top notch. You can park right outside with no issues. If you could be bothered to visit you would be very impressed unless you went there with the sole intention of looking for faults. I went to the SWC and enjoyed in thoroughly. I went to the Poole A Fixture and although we lost the racing was pretty spectacular. We are lucky at Poole in that the racing is mostly very good, but the BV track is bigger and faster with loads of passing. Stop trying to slag the place off. You haven't been there to experience the racing.
  14. Terrible news but not unexpected. Considering Brandon Estates hide themselves away in Jersey with no named spokesperson leaves one to the conclusion that Sandhu and Brandon estates are one and the same. The argument and disagreement could well be a concocted smokescreen just so speedway is brought to an end and the place demolished for houses. By causing so much vandalism Sandhu has made sure its game over. This latest news of 'moving on' backs up the story. Have to feel sorry for the Coventry fans who deserve better than this.
  15. Yep but the good thing is I don't have to read the trolls posts except when he is quoted. The troll doesn't know how to debate, just post poison anti Poole venom at every given opportunity. Don't know how you can be bothered to read the same old same old same old, day after day after day. Incidentally I get on very well with Neil Watson and have known him for years. Good honest bloke.
  16. Sounds to me Hemsleys still in charge with a stooge promoter like last year. No change at mill.... Says he's standing aside (has to) and the guy running it is the same bloke as last season. Reasons to be cheerful? Well they are running I guess is one, er..... not sure after that. As jchapman says, a big missed opportunity. The club desperately needed a big new broom to sweep out all the filth and clutter at this club. Instead they got the same dirty old mop.
  17. So really no change at Leicester. A co promoter becoming sole promoter. A shame its almost, 'as you were'.
  18. Hi Neil, ok thanks for that. Hope you are well. What problems are at Poole? Sorry please explain seem to have missed this news.
  19. Because there really should be contact between promotion and fans. To leave them completely in limbo is not good enough. Perhaps thats why you have to harp back to ancient history of so many years ago.
  20. Then why hasn't this been reported by Horton? As promoter surely its his job to keep Coventry fans in the loop.
  21. The Bradford Bulls have said the liquidator would not accept the offer on the table. But they are going to form a new company and run next season in the championship with a 12 point deduction. From 5 live.
  22. So day three of Hortons tenure. Whats been announced?
  23. What Poole fans post negative thoughts and gloat at clubs in trouble? I am on here most days and haven't seen it. You can't write that on here. Stevebrum will be outraged. However, Horton is now in charge and has the keys so why no statement? Day two of his tenure and counting......
  24. End of the day fake outrage from Stevebrum to score some browny points, or is it brown nose points? My post was completely honest and upfront, responding directly to a post by a Coventry supporter. Rather than jump on my post and state the bleeding obvious that Coventry have problems, there would have been no harm in actually debating the issue of social media in building up a support base. Many sports use this method, including Poole who seem to be pretty good at it. But rather than discuss this area of the sport which could be improved on, Steve Brum faked some outrage to try and look like he was defending Coventry by throwing crap at an honest post of mine. Made himself look very silly. Glad some others can see through his crap and stated there was nothing wrong with my post. Just see that Gavan the Poole hater has jumped in with his usual spew. Quite hilarious. What the hell are you "outraged" about? Me responding to a Coventry post about social media? Ridiculous!
