  1. Good news for speedway with Leicester sorted. I hope their beleaguered fans rally round and turn out in force next season. Time to get the heavy machinery in and change the shape of that carbunkle of a track.
  2. Really pleased with the Poole team for 2017. Great number one backed up by Hans, a solid middle order and second strings, plus what should be a good scoring reserve who will more than likely always get five rides. What's not to like? And if Shanes chips in with a point or two we have every chance of success in 2017. Shanes may well find the going tough and have a season like Lee Richardson did for us all those seasons ago. But the pressure on him will be whathe puts on himself.
  3. I should imagine Chris will be in the Poole pits every week helping his brother, if he doesn't have any racing commitments. And with KK and a stronger second string/reserve, Poole are certainly not weaker than with Holder.
  4. I bet his face was red with anger when Ipswich signed a "not improving Brit". Clearly Chris Louis thinks very differently to "Ipswich fan" Gavan. Or should Chris Louis provide proof to Gavan as wellabout Kyles year on year improvement? Poole fans can see it, Matt Ford can see it, Chris Louis can see it. But Gavan can't. A no nothing or just a Poole hating troll? or both?
  5. Can you point me to where he says that? Think you should changes your name to bullsheeetBilly.
  6. No good talking sense to Gavan. He would never see it that way. Has to be Poole chocking rather than having to put out a team most EL teams would have seen off that night through missing riders. Still, anyone who thinks Newman isn't improving clearly has no knowledge of the rider or is simply a troll. I believe Gavan has and is both.
  7. Quite. The signing of Woffinden made all the difference. And the injury to Andersen.
  8. Any team in the top half of the table could have beaten Poole in the second leg of the semi. Were were a second heat leader missing.
  9. It goes further than points scored on the track. As a world champion is raises the other team members scores up as well. I doubt very much Wolves would have won the league with Kylmakorpi remaining in the team.
  10. As Matt Ford has stated economically Kurtz over Gomolski was a no brainer. Young Holder is going to the top in the sport. I have no doubt about it. Has made good progression year upon year. Going to be third heat leader no problem. With Klindt at reserve his gating alone should bring in a stack of points moving hi nto the team. The good news is that if he does struggle, Kyle will be at reserve and Klindt would then only get three rides with Kyle getting 5 or more if he replaces Shanes in one ride. Poole will always have a strong reserve.
  11. They were until they swapped Kylmakorpi with Woffinden. The would never have won the league had that change not happened. This year they won't be able to do it as the rules have changed.
  12. You are. But I am not either. They might get in the playoffs but the team isn't very good and three teams look definately better. Depends what Belle Vue and Leicester come up with before making a final judgement but Wolves look also rans. Just my opinion and nothing more.
  13. After what has happened at Brandon, wouldn't it be nice if the Kings Lynn and Buxton promotions refused stoxs.
  14. The reason is facing a normally great Poole team on their own track.
  15. No, but it was a small part of many issues he had in his life last year. The track was fixed and rode brilliantly for the rest of the season.
  16. Sorry that my response is dull. I don't rate the Wolves team at all and think they will just about make top four. The reserves are desperately weak and liable to be there all season. Greaves and Clegg will be cannon fodder away from Monmore. Howarth didn't kick on at all last year and Skornicki should have stayed retired. Unless there are changes this team will be nowhere near retaining the title. Three stronger teams already announced in Poole, Rye House and Kings Lynn. If Coventry do run they will be battling with Wolves for 4th spot. (Obviously BV and Leicester teams are not yet announced)
  17. Not going to challenge even if they are over 50 points. Weak reserves, very dodgy second strings.
  18. Exactly. Sentiment doesn't win titles. We could have ended up with a team like Swindons with Doyle taking up far too many points. Those extra points we had to play with made all the difference and anyone with an idea of putting out a strong balanced team can surely see this.
  19. Crap reply? I explained the exact reasoning why Holder was dropped in favour of KK on another thread. The extra points made available by using KK outweigh retaining Holder, who didn't help himself last season with personal problems and the drunken arrival at a sponsors party. I am a Holder fan and will continue to support him in the GPs but no rider is bigger than the club. Poole stand a much better chance of winning the league with the team Matt Ford has put together than a team that would have included Holder.Holders inclusion would have meant two very weak reserves. No thanks.
  20. How many league titles have Kings Lynn won? How many league titles have Poole won? No need for Poole fans to be in uproar. We have a stronger team without Holder.
  21. I have never seen James Shanes ride yet. He looks about 14 years old. Seems a very decent young man though and lives 100 yards from Kyle Newman who is a friend. Riders develope at different speeds. Who would have thought 5 years ago Jason Doyle was a knats dick away from being world champ? Guess we will see how he can do in a few months time. Luckily for him there's a lot of passing opportunities at Wimborne Road. If he is on the pace he has a chance.
