Coventry V Poole. 15/07/2016 Elb

Always laugh when I read people say Poole get big crowds because there's nothing to do down here. Its a tourist resort. People come on holiday here because there is so much to do. Never heard of people saying they are off on holiday to Coventry or Ipswich. We are blessed with 7 miles of gorgeous beaches which will be heaving with hot bikini clad tottie this Arfto. And I sm stuck in Frome😔 -

Not sure why peole are trying to score some type of point about me leaving the stadium. I was with Rob (shakeshifter) and we decided after two laps of heat 15 it was a lost cause so made a run for it to get out of the car park quickly. We had been told there was only one gate open and didnt want to sit in a queue for 30 mins with a 3 hour journey in front of us. Its called common sense. -
18th July 2016 - Wolves V Swindon
Steve Shovlar replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No doubt about it whoever finishes top to will want to avoid going to Wolves. With their team dialled in it would be a difficult job to keep it close enough to have a chance in the other leg. Thats why it is importang to finish top and have the pick. If Poole get their act together and finish top they would send Belle Vue to Wolves and go to Swindon or Lakeside. -
Very true. Certainly can be quick when he leads. At Coventry go high and wide and hardly anyone can pass, with the exception of perhaps KK and Harris. Bates has learnt this line and thats why he won those heats. Lets see what he does at Poole on Wednesday. And to be fair Inwant all young Brits to do well. We need these youngsters as they are the future of Team GB.

Huge blow losing Bates? Where is he going to score? Coventry fans over hyping the youngster. Made two gates and then Ellis had him easily, proving why Ellis should be reserve for the scw (think its nailed on now judging by comments in SS) If Bates gates he can be quick but what I have seen from him if he misses the start is that he is clueless on passing. Poole going to get quick revenge for a laclustre performance on Friday.

Entertaining meeting but the faffing about cost the most important race. Why on earth are no Brits involved? Were they knocked out in the qualifiers? I would, also add I believe Sufidinov has thrown away his career riding in this even rather than trying to get back in the GP series. I don't think he is as good as many think he is and would be in the GP series as an also ran rather than a serious challenger, making a final here and there. Riders have come through that are better.

If you have been four times this year you are well aware the standard of racing at Poole is generally excellent. This must be a wind up. No sour grapes at all. I Am not pi55ed with Coventry. I am pi55ed with one of our riders for failing to to produce anywhere near what he should have done last night. I have said on three ocassions well done to Coventry. That's now 4 times. -

He certainly cost us the win and four probable points. He was sitting in third on the last lap with King behind him. He looked around down the back straight and saw King was there so absolutely no excuse to throttle off and coast to the line, allowing King to grab a point. He then missed the gate and had no chance of passing, along with Holder, before in his next sliding off on the second bend. That was it from him. Unprofessional in his first, no chance after missing the gate then a fall (unhurt) You need to come and watch a meeting at Poole if you think there's no passing. Wednesday saw our worst meeting for passing this year and there was more than last night. End of the day Coventry won and their fans are happy to gloat because they beat the sport's giant. Fair play to Coventry they deserved it. -

Hahaha run out with my tail between my legs! Watched two laps and decided it was over. With a three hour journey and one way out of Brandon we decided it was a very sensible move. I said in my first post well done to Coventry but it seems managing to scrape a win against a weaker mis firing Poole has sent some Coventry fans into super gloat mode. Lets see what Wednesday brings. Think there may be more than four points in it. 😏 Could have sworn the home riders have the experience of using the banking. Steve Worral is dialled in and scoring around there for fun. Surely he is showing home track advantage? -

Ok now just home. Not a good meeting racing wise. A few passes in some heats but mostly the heat was decided by the second bend. Meeting was probably thrilling for Coventry fans due to the closeness of the scores and result rather than the racing itself. Poole really should have walked this. No Newman was big for us but even more important was the abject performance by Andersen who was totally crap. A mediocre performance would have been enough. To make the beginners mistake of not racing to the line was terrible. Strange call by Middlo to place Bjarne in heat 15. Never, ever going to score meaning all the weight was on Holders shoulders. Gate one was total graveyard gate and the race was over by the first bend. Personally I would have given the nod to Buck as he was more on the pace. Bjarne does his job but is slow nowdays. In the scheme of things the defeat means little. We will still be in the playoffs and back to full strength next week. Coventry can enjoy their win tonight but still wont be top four. No team this season stands out. Belle Vue, the favourites, only won by 6 tonight, while leaders Wolves were thrashed at Lakeside. Still fancy us to click at the right time and do it when it matters. -

Happy to see all you Brits improve including Bates. Needs to learn to pass though. Had no answer to Ellis. Bates V Kurtz? Not compareable even now. -

Interesting the raving about Bates. Gated like a rocket in his first two but then Ellis had him around the outside and was never troubled and inhis final ride was stone last when he fell. Good little rider when he gates. Doesn't have a clue from the back. Hopefully he will learn what to do when he has riders in front. -

Smack on with my prediction. Only one person responsible for that. Step foward captain Hans, well done on your pathetic performance tonight. Turned a 4-2 into a3-3 by throttling off early and then did a Mike Yarwood impersonation of Davey Watt. The rest of the tteam battled well until Holders first bike blew up and his last two rides were on a slower engine. Coventry won it because they battld and took advantage of Andersens woeful effort. Well done to them. -

Ridiculous for Coventry fans to write their team off. They came bback from 12 down in the A fixture to win. Why can't they win tonight? -

Get over yourself! Anyway the reserve heats favour Coventry tonight. The best we can hope for is a 3-3 in the two heats, and the chances are one of Roynon or Bellego will pop out in front of Bjarne. Up to our heat leaders to beat KK, Harris and King. Easier said than done. Then its Bates and Barker against Kurtz and Buck. Home track advantage gives Coventry the edge. Should be very close as always when Poole go to Brandon. -

It never works like that. When was the last time Poole had a thumping away win? Ellis Perks is not going to get near a point. Bjarne is nowhere near the rider he once was. On Wednesday he scored well but against who? He looked slow and tentative to be honest. Can see Bates and Barker giving him serious problems. This is going to be extremely close. 4 points in it.
