Poole Pirates Vs Leicester Lions 18/5/16
Steve Shovlar replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Don't see why. No meeting on Wednesday so two week gap. Plus the return of Davey Watt will boost the attendance to see what he does. Will definately get a very big welcome back. Now he is in the team I will re-assess my prediction to 54-36ish. -
Very pleased he has got fixed up quickly. He has been a constant player in the EL and doesnt deserve to be sitting on the sidelines waiting. Perhaps the time out has helped him gather his thoughts and he will come back strong and certainly strengthen Leicester. I wish him every success.

Coventry V Wolves Monday 9th May
Steve Shovlar replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Track didnt allow a pass. Holder was throwing his bike at the leader in his second ride and couldnt get anything out of the track. Same for Lawson in another. As I said, not one single pass. Dont agree at all. Wolves was their biggest crowd in years last Monday. Pooles crowds are also good. Only certain clubs are struggling with fans refusing to go and doing their level best on here to bring their club down. Step forward several Coventry fans on here. -
Coventry V Wolves Monday 9th May

Just watched it with my cereal and have to say it was a far superior meeting inevery way compared to the rubbish served up at Leicester last night. Just a shame there was no one there to witness it. Seems the Coventry fand have deserted their club and they are just waiting for the bulldozers to come in. A shame really. But judging by the posts on here from Coventry fans many just dont seem to care. Outrageous decision by the ref in heat one. Garrity, over riding as usual and completely out of control, pulls a massive locker and Kylmakorpi was brilliant in laying it down rather than plow into the hapless Garrity. How the hell could the ref get that so wrong? Who was the ref? Had a mare. At least he got the Lindgren/ Harris decision correct. Good hard riding by Lindgren all night. The Masters fiasco was just plain ridiculous. Ref probably thought he wouldnt delay the meeting further with threat of rain but bad call. Saw more overtaking in one heat at Brandon last night than the whole of the meeting at Leicester. Just a shame Coventry fans have deserted their club. -

In heat 15 Holder led and Hans cut back up the inside to join him. Updates is wrong. Gavan if you think Poole is the next worse track to Leicester you know nothing clearly about EL speedway. I visit every track in the EL and at Poole we are lucky to havd a track that allows passing on all four bends. I would say the new BV track could be the best, time will tell. Wolves has plenty of passing if you like small tracks. And Poole with flat out racing and loads of passing. Kings Lynn used to have good raing but all reports say its Poor now. If you take off your anti Poole specs or pay a visit you will see with your own eyes. Or watch Poole v BV on Sky soon.

Well that is half a day of my life I won't get back. Like watching p&p. No passing and riders all spread out. Worrall actually made a gate and won. Got three. Badly need Kyle back fit and well. His absence was the difference tonight. Also Lawson who scored well. Not a single pass all meeting other than heat 15 when Hans off gate four cut back under Wozniak and Lawson to join Holder coming off the back straight of bend two. In all the years of watching speedeay I dont think I have ever experienced no passing. I suppose I am lucky watching my speedway at Poole where there is passing galore in virtually every heat inside and out. I am sure Leicesters track could be improved no end and hope it will be. For Leicester Wozniak was excellent until heat 15 Auty one good ride but poor other than that Summers gated in the important heat 14. Hougard was poor after heat one. Lawson battled hard good guest Klindt was gating wel and no one could get close until his bike blew up. Starke battled. For Poole Hans started poorly but goy better Buck struggled Ellis did OK Bjarne did OK Holder see Hans Brady battled Worrall wobled. Fair result. To come back from12 down to get a draw is good. Could have been better.

Sitting here in the grandstand in front of the tapes. Interval now. I can say there has not been one single pass in the first 11 heats after the second bend. Poole losing because Leicester have gated and after a lap its all spread out. Holder just won the last as he gated. If he hadn't the tractor would have beaten him. Total lottery with zero racing. Just Lions home track advantage giving them the edge out of bend two due to home advntage. Thats fair enough and no complaints at the score. The track changes have made zero improvement to racing. For those that say Worrall is better than Newman, well he has wobbled about at the back in his first two before being replaced. He is in the next one. Has Newman scored this badly for Poole this season? Add to that Lawson has picked up six so far thats the difference. But fair play to Leicester on their likely win. I used to moan about the racing at Lakeside, but compared to this tripe it makes Lakeside a decent race track.

Tv Coverage Of Swedish League 2016
Steve Shovlar replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
Isnt it live on c sport ? Watched it last week on Kodi through Gul Tv addon -
If there are only six teams in the EL, then the speedway constitution states thathe EL and PL merge to make two leagues. There will aleays be s top lesgue and second division. And judging by the size of the crowds Leicester got a couple of years ago, they could be won back. Helmsley wouldnt listen. He even altered the track shape Ermolenko marked out then sacked him.
-
Well done to Helmsley in bring the sport back to Leicester. And well do e to him for resigning. Now perhaps it can be run properly. He made a complete howler of the track shape when he had a blank canvas, he wouldnt listen to advice and as a result the racing suffered and with it the crowd dwindled. Fresh promoter needed to finish the track, start building a report with the fans and sort out the correct race night. Not that difficult job to be honest. As for Helmsley and wanting change in the BSPA. You cant do anything from the outside. This is not bad news at all to be honest. Typical Gavan post. You should know by now that in his world Poole were responsible for the holocaust.

Coventry V Wolves Monday 9th May
Steve Shovlar replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I remeber it well but there was never any talk of boycott, and the consistent anti management posts. Poole cant win the league all the time and this golden period will end soon enough. It happens in all sports but never forever. Seems to me that a lot of Coventry fans refuse to get behind their club and support them. Dont they realise that is the only way to bring about success? -

Why is it that Coventry fans are without any doubt whatsoever, the biggest load of moaning, whining, bleating fans on the bsf? They go on and on about anything they can moan at. They refuse to go and support their team, meaning finances wont allow the promotion scope to make changes. Then the Coventry promotion offer entry tomorrow night for a tenner, and fans won't go because they went to a nl meeting to get the discount and now it is open to everyone! You really couldnt make it up. The Coventry cant do right for doing wrong! I just get the feeling some so called Coventry fans here will be happy if Coventry dont see out the season. -

Really great meeting. Funnily enough two weeks ago was a blinder from here as well. Gollob seems to have a new appetite for racing after being on a wind down the last two seasons. Perhaps he realises once the time has gone its gone so is making the most of the twilight of his career. Wonderful stuff and the way he went out wide and wound it on in heat 15 was a joy to watch unless you are a mickey mouse fan. Looking forward to Bjarne doing the same tomorrow night at Leicester. Lol. -
